I have improved already since yesterday, altho I do get frustrated easily! Goals are impressive tho, even the shit ones look good.

1st game: Chelsea 2 - 1 AC Milan
2nd game: Barcelone 1 - 0 Juventus
3rd game: England 1 - 0 Argentina
4th game: Man U 0 - 2 Newcastle
...
5th game: Arsenal 4 - 1 Ajax :D

I'd say about that long

After playing 40+ games on 3 star, i am still not used to playing PES 5. Personally, i think this is the greatest PES by far, i think the fact that it is harder to dribble and take players on is a good thing, because when you do score it feels better because you know that you had to try very hard to score. I also think that gone are the days of 9-0 victories, the games seem much more closer now, which like real football, is usually how things pan out. I love this game, the only thing i really hate about this game is the free kicks, there are far too many of them and it slows the game down too much, the ref is so bloody petty.

In each of my last 4 games on 3 star i have scored 3 or more goals than the computer, so i think i am getting to master 3 star, now i will move on to 4 star, which is good cause i struggle still even now on 3 star, and i still have 4, 5 and 6 star to master, which i think will take me a couple of weeks. Yes, it is harder to dribble and beat players but that's what makes the game great, cause i know that on 6 star it will be very difficult, i just hope when i master 6 star, the game won't start to get boring like PES 4 when i used to batter the computer every game and in the end scoring a goal was not that impressive cause you scored so many. But this version, because the games are so close, i can see me playing this game a hell of a lot, many hours a day.

One last thing, for the morons who say that PES 5 is no different to PES 4 then you really need you're heads read. For a start the shooting and heading are both 100% better than the previous version, and while passing is harder it is much better and realistic, the goalkeepers are much more better and at times very hard to score against especially one on ones. Personally i think this games is very different to the previous one, there are loads of small extra features added to PES 5 which has yet again made the PES series the best football game series ever produced, without a doubt. Yes, the FIFA graphics maybe better and smoother but i would much rather play a game which is more realistic and enjoyable than play a game cause the graphics are brilliant.

I used to have long flowing hair , then Konami released PES 5 and I am now bald from pulling all my hair out !!

I'm playing on 3* at the mo as I wasn't getting anywhere on the more difficult settings. It's such a good game but just an absolute bitch to get used after PES 4 . I think it will be quite a while before I embark on a ML journey !! :)

At first I thought that aswell. I've grown wiser though; I almost never use any of the tackle buttons, it's no problem taking the ball from an opponent by just position yourself correctly and read the play :)
Now I love it.

one thing that i have noticed on is that the radar is now really small on screen and really hard to see players who are making runs maybe its just my TV i dunno

First time poster, long time pro evo fan. I got my copy yesterday and had 12 hour marathon, stop only for toilet and microwave lasagne. I started on 5 star Chelsea Vs Arsenal, Loving the licensed clubs but just leaves you wishing they could of got the rest of the prem. The game finished 0-0 and with me only managing to carve out one decent chance. My instant reaction was 'god no theyve ruined the beautiful game'. I felt as though i couldnt string 2 passes together, like the cretin ref wouldnt allow the game to flow, like the players had the control of a dead badger.....I was very upset, boo hoo.

So i delved into the fantastic edit mode, the boot editor and new kits are great. Nice touches like logos and text on the shorts and bottom back of shirts are cool, i love the way you can edit the players sprint animation and the 250+ special hairstyles are quality.

So after being impressed with edit mode i decided to give the game another chance, i started with a fresh attitude and begrudingly put it down to 3 star. I abandonned my old pro evo 4 silky quick counter attacking style and played a patient passing game. 9 hours and one overdone lasagne later i am now finding pes5 the most challenging, unique and rewarding game in the series. The long shots are great as are the long balls im finding that you can really pick out your maruading wingers and eager strikers with pinpoint accuracy. The refs are still doing my nut in, but thats only when the computer is passing the ball around with grace and patience (again a lovely new touch) and i storm in trying to win back possesion, you have to keep your head and wait for them to slip up or present you witha tackling oppurtunitie, JUST LIKE REAL FOOTBALL!.

I played my housmate that day, i used to roundly beat him everytime, i used to let him pick my team for christ sake, but, surprise surprise, he beats me first time. not a bad thing in fact its great!! I think the secret is to play a slow, continental style, boring but very very rewarding....but what do i know im still on 3 star.

Wipe sweat off forehead, thank god other people are finding this hard too. Man this game is hard!! PES4 used to be minimum 6 goals on 5 or 6* but now i'm scraping 1-0 wins or 0-0 draws on 6* on PES5 although I did have a strange game against WBA using Arsenal where I won 5-0 on 6* although they actually slaughtered me on posession.

Any way loving this game now and slowly getting used to it and getting better at it, now trying to practice more on keeping posession.

I'm disappointed, I'm actually finding it too easy ALREADY. Hopefully 6* will be harder then 5* unlike in previous games where it didn't make too much difference, but so far I've only lost 1 game :(

I have played every PES version, and at first like PES4 from PES3 conversion i thought OMG this is CRAP, but after playing it for a while it is GREAT! Same for PES5... after playing it a while, i finally realise, altho frustrating at first cuz its hard to break down defences, you will find its FUN and amazing! I have yet to score 2 goals that look the same... and the AI adapts so if your finding a easy path to goal... dont expect it to be the same again... :)

I LOVE IT!

played my 1st game as Galatasaray lost 1-0 2 Venezula(a good freekick goal they scored) then after i never lost, beat Greece 4-0 with Turkey, beat beskitas&Fenerbahce 2-1 and beat saudi arabia and Venezula 2-0 with arsenal, still playing 3stars, its not 2 hard tbh but wat i noticed is the cpu is good or if not excellent at freekick shots

I conceded a free-kick against the computer, a good 1 aswell, Brazil v Peru in the American cup Peru had a free-kick, dipped into the top-corner.

I actually didn't have much trouble at all...

I mean sure, it took me a few games to get my first goal, but I didn't really find the changes in ballcontrol, gamespeed etc. shocking or upsetting at all. I think it has to do with me having been prepared at the time and recognizing that it's all a big step in the right direction as far as realism.

Im finding it pretty hard to score. Gets a bit annoying when your running with the ball slower than a snail, I'll get used it though..hopefully.
