How long did you take to get used to PES5?

I think that all you people who complan about it being slow and that it took you ages to get used to it are just plain Shit at the game. I agree some bits have changed but that makes it better. I would find it undeniably boring if i won every game 8 nil. Its great fun if you have a shit team and win the league. Unexpected. Even if you are chelsea no matter how good you are yo wont win every game. Anyway stop complainig and enjoy the game i do its immense.

Master League Team: Valencia

Canizares, Cafu, Nesta, Terry, Chivu(Legend), Gerrard, Lampard, Vicente, Aimar, Shevchenko, Di Vaio(Scores Loads if you play him just off striker)

Played: 30 Conceded:5 Conceded at home:1 Losses at home: 0
Losses away: 1
Unbelievable team. Wont ever beat it in a million years. Unless you pratice cause it sounds like you all need to. OOWAY! Good Luck moaners!

4-1 win in my first match. Arsenal vs Barcelona at difficulty 5.

Of course, I've been playing a modded Japanese version of WE9 for maybe 4 months now. I still don't think it took me very long to master. Started by playing against a pair of good buddies of mine, and by the time I started actually playing the computer, I wasn't having any problems.

I love this game.

My experience thus far:

Played on 3* ML and suffered for 2 straight seasons with endless 0-0 and the occasional 1-0 / 0-1.

This is what I decided to do:

1. Bought some decent 'cheapish' players (Chivu, Forlan, Joaquin, Kallstrom, Heitinga, Mihajovic, Obodo).

2. Went to 4-4-2 A1 with quick setting of side attack

3. Settled into a slower build up passing game, and stopped trying to hit people on the break at top speed as per PES4

4. Started looking at the radar before passing (especially when in my own half) - always aim to pass to some-one in space rather than pushing it forward. I found the key is to build up play and look for openings.

5. Started shooting from outside the box a lot more often and realised that it's often easier to score this way than by taking the defenders on to get a clear shot in the box. (Look for midfielders with middle shooting *)

I shot into the first division and can now hold my own with Barca etc and just knocked Real Madrid out of the cup winning both legs quite comfortably.
Having started to win I got some cash and bought Rooney, Eto'o, Rio Ferdinand, Hleb and Yeste.

It's been said elsewhere but it's so true that you can't just sprint past everyone and slot goals in for fun - but you can use the more agile and talented players to shimmy and turn away from the opposition and create space to run into. It seems to me to pay almost more attention to off the ball runs from your team mates as much as dribbling around to open up a pass. When you do score a great goal that you've crafted and worked at, it's so much more rewarding that just using a your pace to score.

Yeah, i suffered from '0-0'-itus if you know what i mean with Barca. Swapped Eto'o with Torres, Xavi with Figo and what can i say, instant change. Patience is the key. Also, a good header of the ball helps alot.

To the mates who did grasp the game but are still stuck in middle field, your problem is off-ball movement and no one in this thread has helped you yet;

After passing quickly tap :R2:, this will make PES5 even easier than 4

If you already know this, shame on you for letting the thread stretch to 5 pages without telling anyone the most important move of the game!

I agree, for some reason I didn't go on PES5 for ages, I went back on it this week and I found it hard again although I'm used to it again now! :p

You have a cancer running through your team, I think you know who they are.

Plus I keep looking at your damn quote.

'After passing quickly tap R2'

Sorry to be so in-experienced, what does this do - make your team-mates run forward?

Also I have the curse of playing on the Xbox, but I have got an adapter to use a PS2 pad. However the R1/R2 (and L1/L2) buttons are the wrong way around - anybody else found a way to remap these???

Cheers

I will always have Toon Players. I thought my sig was clever, my old one was good with the dialogue but it didn't work as a sig.

I just realised i said 'qoute', damn!

It took me about 3-4 weeks to get used to pro evo 5, i wasn't very happy at first with it, and to be honest it still needs improving in my opinion (mainly the way the players run, it just doesnt feel free-flowing) , even though it is still the best game out there for football.
