how to get the ball

Do you ask for the ball (OR) do you run to the open space so that AI players can pass the ball to you?

im usually open to get the ball, especially when play switches side.

Run into space, I never call for the ball as it just seems to confuse the AI and they run into the nearest player. When your a sub watch the positions the player in your position takes up and make similar runs yourself when you play. Sometimes they still dont pass to you but ive found not calling for the ball works best and my team seem to play better without me having to do everything

for the keyboard you can press "C" to call for the ball its really frustrating when they dont pass you the ball though

You have to double tap R2 for ps3 or double tap RT for X360., but you have to be in an open space.

I've also found that sometimes when you call for the ball when its over at the other side of the pitch they try to get it over to the side you're at by passing to teammates instead of carrying on down the side they were on.
