I just cannot keep a win

Ok so here is my question. Today I keep going up 2-0 3-0 and then getting a draw. I simply cannot keep a lead.

My defenses are Lugano and Aronica so not horrible.

What do you guys do to maintain a lead?

I had the same problem and desperately i start to pass the ball around at the back or use the leg breaking strategy to keep the lead.

The thing that's pissing me off is that most of the time i score and concede the second after i score the goal.

No.... don't pass the ball around the back! It's a cheap, infuriating tactic. If you want to keep the ball, it's better to keep it in the opponent's half. That way, if you loose it, you'll still have the back line to protect you.

Changing to a more defensive mentality works (ie using the select button plus R2 or whatever it is, on the ps3). If you're playing 2 strikers, take one off for a centre of defensive midfielder. Having someone who can just sit in front of the back line. Doesn't have to be brilliant. Muamba does the job for me.

yea shift your team down the pitch a little bit and maintain possession in the midfield, preferably in the opponents half.

also this is where team work and mentality of your players is big, so u mite want to invest in a midfielder or two with those stats

I used to have Abriel as a sub to put a defensive midfielder... Sold everyone to buy Del Piero. I will have to buy Abriel again he is decent.

It is annoying because one can barely invest in subs with the financials in the game.

Do you guys use Defensive possession tactic at all? I think it puts the defensive line all the way back.

There is nothing cheap at football win with any strategy as long as it's legal, i keep the ball at the back sometimes and i even throw 8 at the back sometimes and i dont feel cheap at all as long as i am winning in fact i feel good.

And I bet you feel good when you pick Real Madrid every game, beating the likes of Fulham, Deportivo and PSG :hmm:

I'm a strictly 4-4-2 bloke now, can be quite defensive at times but it does tend to prompt some players to go almost 6 up front. Of course when they do ... I win.

I only play MLO and no didn't pick RM.

Fair enough. But there's 2 main things that I hate about PES online:

1) People who use the big teams all the time
2) Stupid formations (such as having 8 at the back)

.... but anyway, that's a debate for another day... back on topic.
