What does PES have that FIFA doesn't?

FIFA has clubs that makes it more enjoyable but FIFA 11 is 100% BAD.

I'm buying PES but I wanna know what makes PES so good this year?

I can't put my finger on exactly what it is right now, but I know PES definitely has the addictiveness factor back.

Last year, I played between 25 and 50 games on PES (for review purposes) but I immediately wanted to go back to FIFA. I've had PES 2011 since Saturday morning, and I'm into it more than FIFA at the moment.

Does it have its niggly problems that have been present for years? Yes, but it's still by far the very best PES on PS3, and quite possibly the best PES of all time.

Have you tried using the L2 strategies on PES11? If so, does it works the same way as in PES10?

If you have not tried certain tricks with the L2 strategies, I would like to make a suggestion, to see how it works in PES11.

The L2 trick that I'm about to explain to you, it greatly improved my experience with PES10, I'd like to know if it still works in PES11.

In PES10, if you took an attacking midfielder like Andrea Pirlo or Xavi Hernandez, and you place them as Center Back.

On the regular settings, place the additional CB on the right flank, as wide as it can go (literally stepping on the right flank line), right on the border-line between defense and midfield.

The additional CB should be positioned in front of the WB and wider than the WB, as wide as possible, literally stepping on the flank line.

Then you go to the L2 strategies, and you assign the CB Attacking Run to the (o) button: the CB to go forwards will be Xavi Hernandez or Andrea Pirlo, the deep lying playmaker.

Then you go to the L2 strategies, and with the Custom Settings A and Custom Settings B.

Custom Settings A: leave everything identical, and just change the position of the additional CB, place him as wide as he can go on the left flank, literally stepping on the left flank line, right on the border-line between defense and midfield.

So the only difference between the regular formation and the Custom Settings A, is in terms of width: instead of the right flank, the additional CB will move to the left flank, same position in terms of length.

And the Custom Settings A Strategy is triggered on-the-fly by holding the L2 button and then tapping the (x) button, and then releasing the L2 button.

And the CB Attacking Run Strategy is triggered on-the-fly by holding the L2 button and then tapping the (o) button, and then releasing the L2 button.

If you use the strategy for CB Attacking Run, this means that the additional CB will run through the flanks, all the way into the attack; the additional CB will stay on the flank, the CB Attacking Run ONLY affects VERTICAL movement, not HORIZONTAL movement.

The CB Attacking Run does not works instantly on PES10, there is a split-second of delay, and after that delay, the CB assigned to run forwards will start running forwards through the right flank.

This means that you should pass the ball between your CBs and WBs, to cover up the time lapse or delay which is required for the additional CB (Xavi Hernandez) to move into an attacking position on the right flank or left flank of the pitch.

The additional CB should have an attacking mentality, so that the CB Attacking Run Strategy functions faster, with less lag/delay.

You should start the game with the CB Attacking Run Strategy activated, so that the additional CB with attacking mentality stays up in the opponent's half of the pitch; you should only deactivate the CB Attacking Run Strategy, when you want the additional CB to come down to his own half of the pitch.

And once the additional CB is in an attacking position, if you use Custom Settings A: this will trigger INSTANTANEOUS HORIZONTAL off the ball movement from the additional CB, from the right flank area to the left flank area, from right to left, no lag...

Once you are close to the left flank line, if you deactivate the Custom Settings A Strategy, this will produce INSTANTANEOUS HORIZONTAL off the ball movement from the additional CB, from left to right.

It is also important that, with the Sliders, that no one changes positions automatically... because players switching positions automatically will give you less control over your team.

So you should tweak the Sliders so that players cannot change positions... a rigid formation is much more effective and reliable if you want to make good use of the L2 HORIZONTAL RUN.

You can also create DIAGONAL-HORIZONTAL movements from right to left, or left to right: it all depends on how you time the Custom Settings A Strategy, which is responsible for the horizontal movements from right to left and left to right.

Thus you can effectively dictate YOUR own script... because you can consciously create the passing angles that YOU want... and you can also decide when you want to use it,

Basically, you can manually control Lio Messi when Lio Messi has the ball at his feet, whilst at the same time, also manually dictate the off the ball movement of Xavi Hernandez.

And when you learn how to use it, it is very effective, and becomes very easy to use... because the same procedure dictates the horizontal movement from right to left or left to right.

The horizontal movement works fairly simple,

If you always have the CB Attacking Run Strategy activated from beginning to end, this means that the additional CB will spend most of his time positioned somewhere in the opponent's half of the pitch, on the right flank line.

So dictating the horizontal movements is fairly easy,

Hold L2 + tap the (x) button, then release L2: this will put Custom Settings A Strategy into effect, and thus will dictate horizontal movements from the right flank area to the left flank area, from right to left.

Hold L2 + tap the (x) button, then release L2: this will deactivate the Custom Settings A Strategy, and thus will dictate horizontal movements from the left flank area to the right flank area, from left to right.

It's easy to use because it's always: hold L2 + tap the (x) button, and then release the L2 button... The same easy and responsive procedure produces movements from right to left and left to right, it's just a matter of activating and deactivating.

The CB Attacking Run should ALWAYS be activated for this to work; otherwise, the additional CB will stay back in his own half of the pitch.

One of my favorite plays in PES10, was using both the CB Attacking Strategy and Custom Settings A Strategy, which means that the additional CB (Xavi Hernandez) is positioned like Ronaldinho: somewhere on the left flank area.

And I also positioned a fast player (Lio Messi) on the left flank area, and when I was close to Xavi Hernandez, I would deactivate the Custom Settings A Strategy: which means that Xavi Hernandez would start moving from the left flank to the right flank.

And then, with Leo Messi, I would pass the ball to Xavi Hernandez when Xavi was positioned right in the middle of the pitch, in the process of drifting from left to right; and this created some great passing angles.

This makes players like Xavi Hernandez a lot more useful, because if their positioning and passing accuracy.

If you are winning the game, you can turn-off the CB Attacking Run Strategy, and as a result, the additional CB will run down into his own half of the pitch, and then with the additional CB you can hold possession and force the opponent into coming down into your own half of the pitch; and then you hit them on the counter attack with long balls.

If you perfect it, if you learn how to mix the L2 HORIZONTAL RUN with the R2 VERTICAL RUNS, you can create some great plays.

The L2 HORIZONTAL RUN will create great passing angles without the necessity of passing the ball; you will feel more in control over everything. It is certainly worth the time, because if you try it and it does works, it will add a whole new dimension to your play.

If you try this in PES11, let me know how it works for you, if it works...

You can't take FIFA back and say i want a refund cause you think its bad. I thought the only way you can replace a game is if its broke, and in them cases, they just give you a replacement.

You could probably return it within a certain time frame. Just say you got it as a gift from someone else, and don't need two copies. You could probably say you just don't like it, in some shops I reckon. You'll only get store credit though, presumably.
