I even have a couple of players with the 'heading' special ability and even then they hardly ever get good headers on goal from corners or open play crosses.

This is something that's really been annoying me though, so your feedback would be nice...

In all the time I have been playing the new game, so far I have never seen a CB score with a header? from a corner that is... and take note, I have the "attacking players" selected in the strategy options......If that is the case it needs to be fixed....because it spoils the authenticity of the game, which in a simulation is critical...

Yea I've played 4 seasons in master league now and have hardly scored any headers direct from corners with any of my players, let alone the CB's. I have some tall players with good heading stats and a good ck taker too but that doesn't seem to make too much difference.

I've also noticed I almost never concede directly from corners either. I think holding triangle to get your keeper to come and catch the cross is a bit too effective. He seems to manage it on like 80% of the time I do it (which is every time :)) and the remaining times he'll punch it to the edge of the box and the opposition will shoot wide or I'll close them down and win the ball.

Because of this I usually go short from corners and work it to the edge of the box.

I have also seen people saying it is too easy to score from corners. I find it about the right level of challenge and score a reasonable amount. If you are not getting much success try varying the corner strategy. I think the person saying it was too easy was using the "Dash" option. So pressing left on the DPad beofre taking the corner and then selecting left, right up or down to select "Dash". The computer seems to have most success against me with the option of lining players at the "Back Post".

I'm going to try the Triangle option and see how my keeper does.

I've had CB and FB's score with some headers, but it's fairly uncommon.

I think the main problem would be tied to some of the defensive issues I've posted about in this, and other threads.

With as good as the technology is, the defending seems fairly 2 dimensional, though probably not absolutely. In real life, if a ball is hit at a defender, his leg/foot must meet the ball at the proper distance in length, width, and height....

In this game I believe the defenders tackling radius, and intercepting/blocking radius is too great. Which is probably the intention, to bolster the defensive capabilities by Konami.

Coupled with other things like insane anticipation of lofted balls by defenders...GK too even...the speed at which defenders running towards their goal gain, while playing the ball....all together indirectly will make heading goals relative to other types of goals much tougher and rarer to come by.

Since data pack 1. I've noticed especially on set pieces more defenders playing on the actual goal line next to the GK..when you consider that excessive blocking radius I talked about, and the fact it being fairly 2 dimensional....creates a very formidable wall, way too formidable...when in a real match, the pace of the ball, and the trajectory, and defenders not having superhuman reach with their coverage, in 3 dimensions width, length, height....it's not nearly as impenetrable.

Take for example this...video, if you remember the Luis Suarez Handball against Ghana....

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NUWZuioV_DY

He was almost left with no options other than to let it pass, or handle it.

In PES 17, though scoring in that same situation is doable. Seeing that kind of defense, seems like a much more daunting task. As any ball coming within their reach will likely be blocked, regardless of the circumstance, pace, trajectory, positioning, etc.

Guys, guys, guysss, It's a video game, it can't be exactly like in real life.
I think PEs17 is a FINe product, the master league is totaly overhauled, I love it, the gameplay Also.

STOP COMPLAINING

Haha :D Well said - some people however strive for perfection...and Konami do not help themselves a lot of the time.
