Whoever said that free kicks result in less goals on Superstar difficulty is lying! :angry:

To me, i concede less free kicks on superstar as they will hit it unaccurately thus making it more realistic. HOwver i don not know his is because the cpu is trying to get it over the wall but i make my wall jump meaning the programming goes wrong and they miss. Players do score free kicks against me seldomly

In my first (and only) game on superstar so far, I conceded a free kick about 30 yards away, and to the left of my goal. The player crossed it in and my defender decided to head it in his own goal. 10 mins later, I conceded another free kick, this time closer to the goal. I jumped with the wall and even put a man on my line.. still went in. So that's 2/2 free kicks near my box that have been scored against me.

you cannot judge from 1 match - i've seen players in real life score 2 free kicks being scored from 2

You think thats bad, last night the game would not allow me to manually select my keeper and low and behold the AI scores a perfect 35 yard free kick, the depths this game sinks to are almost embarrassing. I conceded another 30 yard free kick 5 minutes later, this time I was allowed to select and move my keeper only to see the ball fly in the opposite corner.

Manual goalkeeper works when it feels like it, if this is purposely in the game to force you to concede konami should be ashamed of themselves, imagine playing a First person shooter where you are not allowed to reload so the AI can kill you, strange analogy I know but this game is beyond petty at times.

Another thing, deflections in this game almost act like perfectly waited passes for the AI, fucking infuriating making perfect tackle after perfect tackle only to see the ball bobble back to the AI.

yeah, i also find it weird sometimes they don't let you move your keeper once you've switched cursor

I had two back to back matches between Real (me) and Barca (CPU) on Pro difficulty the other day and the outcome was rather humorous: In the first game I went up 1-0 in the first half and then fended off Barca's speed merchants like a mofo. Come injury time (90+3) and there is a harmless tussle about 28 metres away from my goal resulting in a free kick for BCN. Being a longtime (strictly offline) PES player I told myself: "That's it. They're going to score". And lo and behold, Messi puts a perfect one up into the left corner. Ref doesn't even restart the match.

Fine, I say. Shit happens all the time. Start the re-match, get up 2-0 quickly with two goals by Ronaldo. Injury time of first half heading monster David Villa puts in an incredibly angled header for the 1-2. Fine. Much of the second half has me fend off Barca's attacks once again. Now we are in 90+2 and there is a harmless tussle in front of my goal mouth, just a bit closer to the box this time. Messi lines up for the free kick, you get the rest...

I've experienced these things since the very first PES I ever played which was ISSPE 1 for the PS1. It's just part of the PES experience. A few PESses ago I would probably have broken my controller, but now I am trying to smile it off. Yet, I sometimes wonder why Seabass seems so hell bend on pi**ing off his customers rather than rewarding them sometimes for their heroic efforts. Strange philosophy, that.

Oh, btw, it was in Exhibition mode. So scripting occurs there, too, albeit to a lesser degree.
