apart from that, the shooting must be improved !
After having played the demo quite relentlessly, I have to say the shooting isn't as bad as people (and myself) first made out to be. The shooting is only poor generally when you're in a questionable position to have a shot, or even using the player's weaker foot (maybe the weak foot statistic plays a much bigger part this year?).
The last match I played was with the two Copa teams, and I was facing Chivas. The match ended 3-3, and there was some really nice shots on target. Now that I'm getting the hang of it, I'm able to drill low hard shots on occasions and also higher curling shots. Hell, in that match, the AI chested the ball down on the edge of the area and scored an overhead kick which caught my keeper off his line - I was in awe. I also scored a brilliant 25 yard goal with the outside of the boot, and the ball swerved from outside the post to just inside the post and ruffled inside the net (probably my favourite goal so far). It's just a shame the iPhone 3G doesn't have a video function on the camera (stupid!), but I think the shooting is just a matter of choosing more realistic positions to shoot from, or looking for the openings. It seems more rewarding now that I've become used to it. I'm not saying the shooting is amazing either as there is still some flaws and inconsistencies, but it isn't poor either.
As for the goalkeepers, they're poor. I initially thought they'd improved but the more games I play the more I realise they really haven't changed much at all. They have a few new animations and that's about it. They still parry plenty of easily catchable shots, and their positioning at times is also very laughable, not to mention the inconsistencies with their responses. Sometimes they may save two shots in quick succession but other times fail to react to a relatively slow paced shot that flys right beside their head. This is only the shot-stopping element of goalkeeping too, I'll now touch on distribution which is also very poor. There should be a power bar for goal kicks, definitely. There should also be a power bar for when the goalkeeper throws the ball out too, giving you the choice of throwing the ball to the nearest man or a player further afield on the wing for example. Then there is the issue of not being able to control the goalkeeper properly after he collects the ball, it's almost as if he's stuck on train tracks like the past PES movement system. I've also had my goalkeeper kick the ball out himself automatically as soon as I get close to the edge of the box, and this has nothing to do with the amount of time I've been holding onto the ball either.
All in all, the shooting takes time getting used to it, but it does make sense and is very rewarding at times, although I think RT/R2 curled shots should be a little faster-paced. Goalkeeping however is still poor, as well as their distribution.
