Dear Konami

There is a game breaking free kick issue where the computer will nearly always score a perfect free kick (particularly) from close range if they need to, and they only way to stop it is to take a defender and put him on the post and hope he blocks it.

Its a very simple issue to test, just let the AI take free kicks just outside the penalty on top player and I bet it scores most of them.

Please sort it out with a patch asap please.

I've not noticed this yet, but then again a lot of the free kicks I've given away have been more so around the 30 yard range I've noticed and at an angle so the CPU has been more inclined to dink a cross in. I hope this isn't the case though, however I've managed to score my two close range free kicks in my last few ML matches; one with Minanda, the other with his young replacement Ettori.

Have you tried manually positioning the goalie? Most of the times, he is standing either too far right or too far left.

Gonna have to get the tallest defender in the world for master league then, just stick him on the line. Probably have to get a really tall keeper too. Although i like short keepers

I like that the computer scores freekicks a lot. It means you do not want to give away freekicks which is quite true to real life. If im 1-0 up and give away a freekick with 5 minutes to go thinking they will score and they do it is deflating like it is in real life and if they don't score then you feel great. In real life if your team is 1-0 up with 5 minutes to go and the opposition get a freekick within range you feel the exact same.

You shouldn't be giving too many freekicks away in areas where they can be scored just like in real life you don't want to keep doing it.

This just happened to me too in the 90th min XS

I wouldn't have minded but the free was taken so slowly and the ball was in the air for ages and still amnaged to go in.. keepers, biiig problem still :realmad:

this has happened to me 4 times in a row now, and i had the difficulty set to regular.

i think this needs fixing too, its just not realistic.

Yeah, but the problem lies in the fact that you don't have to try to give them away, you just do a step in challenge, win the ball cleanly and their player just stumbles and gets a free kick.

I totaly agree with the O.P, the oppositions close range free kicks are just silly, especially as you can not get the ball over the wall and down slow enough. It has always been a frustrator for me on pro ev, especially the last one or the one before it, Wright Phillips scored one from the edge of the box, and I was so annoyed, I put him on my scout list, he had 66 for free kick acc.

My big point on free kicks is the 2 player free kicks. I hold R1+L1 twice to get the 2nd 2 player kick, do the pass, and when the shooter gets to the ball, the wall has broken out and is right on top of him, he either blocks every shot, takes it off him, or if you try to pass, it goes to thier players. There is no way that I can do anything at all with the 2 player free kick system, you get no advantage from the free kick (which is the whole point in a free kick) so it is a truely pointless feature and a waste of disk space and programming time that could have gone to something else.

Yeah, I do think the freekick by the computer AI is just way too unrealistic. Pretty much when you concede a free kick within 25 yards, the AI will score for sure if they are the home team, will score in about 70-80% of it if they are the away team. Even if I am play great defence with clean take of the ball (I normally don't tackle, just step in challenge), the AI will still give out stupid free kicks for a so that they can score from it. I am so sick of this, and it just drives me nuts. The only possible way to stop the free kick is to position a tall player around the post and tries to head it away. I understand in real life, there a lot of good players that can kill you with a free kick, but players from PES UNITED are scoring free kicks like CR7.... Come on.....
