Konami To Reset MLO Teams?

There are rumours circulating round the PES community, suggesting that Konami could reset the Master League Online teams, in order to punish the people who took advantage of the "own goal cheat" before it was fixed.

If this was to go ahead, it's unclear whether Konami would reset the suspected cheaters, or really put the hammer down and reset everyone - which I highly doubt!

Thinking about it, I wouldn't imagine they would reset everyone. The uproar would be huge, from the honest players such as myself, who have worked hard over the last few months and now, have finally got a half decent team (there's obviously still a long way to go...)

Although finding the cheaters would involve a long investigation, checking over previous match results and then deciding whether they should have their squad reset, or not. Would Konami have time for this? I don't think so.

Despite that, I would be thrilled if Konami were to conduct a full investigation, to identify the cheaters and then reset their teams immediately. If they were able to do this, the PES community would appreciate it immensely!

I appreciate that this is just pure speculation, but I feel such a controversial topic brings a lot of discussion to the table.

What are your thoughts?

i think that they should do it, cos there are loads of players who have all the stars and are actually shit at the game, but konami will need to be carefull, because there are a lot of people who have had online problems and keep getting the connection lost message, i myself have had this way to many times to remember and have now got an averae squad together that is capable of winning matches and doing it the right way and then some due to the loss of money due to connection problems. would konami be able to tell the difference between the genuine and the cheaters? i doubt it, they cant even work out that they need to improve the online experience for many people.

it would be nice to have those cheaters punished, however i'd like them to go fix what really needs to be fixed first, seeing people with 200million worth squads dont merely piss me off as much as seeing the cursor switch 20 times a second by itself and not allowing my players to get to the ball even thought its right next to them

I think it's too late. What they need to do is find out who some of these cheaters are, then invite them to next years MLO beta test. Obviously too many honest people were in the beta so these sorts of things weren't discovered.

Own goals and abandoning matches on PES2012 should have harsh penalties, the likes we clearly won't see on PES2011, I think -25 points would weed out the undesirables.

Granted if you lose genuinely lose your internet connection you are going to pay a heavy and unfair price - but the minority always spoil it for the majority and although draconian It seems the only way.

Agreed ^^^

I'm not sure whether Konami could incorporate that though. If they did do it in PES2012, I'd be impressed.

I live in the USA, and often play matches against people located in Greece, turkey, russia and although it can get laggy, I almost never have a game dropped.

The majority of times I've lost connection is when I'm in a cup and am playing a cheeser with 100 million dollars and the greatest team ever assembled. Coincidence? No.

I say reset all the teams, especially if it's too much to look through to find the cheaters.

Then add a way to report cheaters and change the competition rules so that if you have more than 3 disconnections and you qualify you will automatically be placed 14-16, and more than 5 disconnections will block you from qualifying for knockout.

I also wish they would get rid of the knockout disconnection rule, but don't know how to replace it.

I wouldn´t mind if they reset the teams. I really like my team and even though it was hard work to get a halfway decent team together, I would really love to see the reaction of cheaters when they realize that they can´t quit.

But, they´ll probably find some other to abuse the system and cheat.

i wouldnt mind although i like my team so far, if it fucks over the cheaters i am all for that.
And it will be a good thing, atleast the prices of the current players will go down :p.

Let's be honest, they wouldn't reset everyone. I just want them to spend a bit of time identifying the cheaters, and just ban them for a month or so.
