one of the kits on the second scan looks like newcastle. maybe its juve or udinesse though but it looks like newcastle to me.

I agree. I have been a fan of Juventus for 12 years now, and they did not have this kit last season, or the season before (but then again it is bad quality!) It could look like newcasle or udinese, but I don't think it's juve. It looks like adidas shorts - and they aren't sponsored by adidas - but nike! But we'll have to see. We have proof now for the three licensed leagues - that is great :D

I'm only hoping it could be newcastle (thoug unlikely) because then it means more licenses :) Guess we'll have to wait and see! Cheers

PES4 is still probably in production, right? So there’s some hope. I wouldn’t get too worried, not at least until the dreaded news is for definite and confirmed.

I don't see why everyone is so bothered by this. If you (in general) are a true PES fan, you know, or should know, that its not about the licenses! It's about gameplay!

I will still buy the game, whatever the outcome, but if this is and was the case, then I’d be a tad disappointed.

Many people seem to forget that Konami have beaten their rivals with gameplay, always. FIFA always had a better presentation, more teams, even in the old versions like 97 or 98. Now the gameplay in Konami´s games still is far better than in FIFA, I´d even risk the statement that the difference in gameplay between WE/PES and the others now is bigger than 5 years ago. Plus Konami have made a huge step forward in presentation of the game and atmosphere. WE8 will contain at least about 60 licensed teams, it was 6 in WE7 ! 2 Years ago we couldn´t even dream of it, and now it´s true. So I don´t understand this discussion whether the EPL will be in or not, or if those are the kits from 2003 or 2004. For a real fan of Konami´s game, and I´m playin their games since good old Nintendo times, it simply doesn´t matter.
I bet the people who moan about that WE8 will have maybe only 2003 kits and not the new ones wouldn´t even see the difference between new and old kits in the game. It´s just that someone told you so you´re making a big story out of it. Nuff said.

I agree! I've only been playing PES since PES2(and that was 6 or 7 months after the release) and i knew right away that it wasnt the graphics or what not that was going to keep me addicted, it was the gameplay. As i said in my post earlier, everybody that is a TRUE PES fan, should know its about gameplay. I'm not saying i wouldnt like licensed kits from 04/05, but if i can play an unpatched PES3 for nearly two hours a day since its release, then i can sure as heck cope with 3 whole leagues licenses, be it from 2 years ago, last year or in 2150!

Come on people... Stay faithful... its an improvement!#

EDIT: Its fixed. I deleted it. No worries!

Gameplay is more important than licences and names. Last season shirt is there bcause maybe adidas kept the new design top secret and now the design is released maybe Konami will update. But franky I don't care!

Yep,well said, larsson and bonzo. I've been waiting for licenses ever since Winning Eleven 4 and I started on Winning Eleven 3. These fancy new league licenses are a god-send for someone who only plays an unpatched PS2 version, like me.

On another note, anyone know whether goalie kits are editable? ( an afterthought....seems like those licensed kit are not going to editable if Pes4 follows Pes3, where Roma and Milan's kit were uneditable....

So, PES4 will have the same licenses as WE8. An PES4 will run up until october 2005 as the latest version in the series. I find the thought of playing a game that has 2003 kits and rosters in the autumn of 2005 quite laughable. Its just another stick for FIFA fans to beat us with.

And anyway i've been playing ISS since the SNES and i love the series for its gameplay. But Konami need to come into the 21st century and realise that it is not just gameplay that sells games. I would rather they did the licenses properly or not at all.

Bah, I'm not too bothered about kits and liscenses, I'll just get it patched and that'll do me fine.

To tuh James: Why do we care what Fifa fans think? We already know that we're playing the best game available, let them act like little girls.

At the end of the day, I buy games to play, not to look at official kits which are hardly distinguishable from Konami's versions when squished onto me telly.

Nah, you can´t see it that way, in that way also FIFA has old rosters, because in autumn 2005 they still have the same line-ups like in 2004. Jamez, it has always been in WE/PES/ISS series, so you can´t really be surprised. That´s why there is a transfer mode to edit rosters, and that´s why you can use patches, I´d say that the kits and other add-ons which are made by amateur patchers are better than the default kits, stadims, boots etc.
If you ask me, I´m not really bothered if there are kits from 2003/2004 or 2004/2005, as I said in my previous post, most people wouldn´t see that those are old kits if someone didn´t mention it.

If all these kits are from last year then this is a serious disappointment and commercial suicide from Konami. For the first time FIFA could be a serious option for me (if there is a big improvement in gameplay that is) because this is just beyond a joke.

I know what you mean, but you should expect that from Konami. I was! W11 8 will feature last year kits and rosters. As always. Pro Evo 4 will probably feature more recent "data". Don´t u know the drill??

And i agree with the idea that gameplay is what counts in the end, but what i can´t stand from Konami is their amateurish, childish and unrealistic way of "feeling" the whole idea of a footballing world. They´re japanese. It´s a japanese way of looking at things! Football is a concept still to raw for them... I wouldn´t blame them for nothing, if they hadn´t come so close to "videofootballing heaven", and stopped at the gates... know what i mean? :) Anyway FIFA is not football ! it´s a different sport, the american way...

What do you mean by "amateurish, childish and unrealistic way of "feeling" ? ;)
I think you mentioned the problem already, they´re Japanese, they have a Japanese view on it, you see it in their marketing strategy, probably Japanese fans prefer those funny advertising movies we´ve seen than gameplay movies. But to be honest, I don´t have a problem with it, I´d rather have many infos about the game before the release, than movies. I´m content with the atmosphere in WE series, however I know what you mean by "I wouldn´t blame them for nothing, if they hadn´t come so close to "videofootballing heaven", and stopped at the gates...", they just make the most difficult things almost perfect, like gameplay, AI, controls, and then screw it a little bit with things like uneditable league mode, stupid ML system and other stuff...

Yeah it does look like newcastle cos it has the blue sponsor like they do. Does anyone know if udinese have a blue sponsor?

Juve's new sponsor is sky. The licenses are always of last season. So 03-04 Hence there sponsor being Fastweb.
