Master League

Hi Konami,
Been a fan since WE9. With that said (Note that all my posts serve as questions as well as feedback):

1) Will the managers play a much larger role in the ML?
-staff development
-player wages
-realistic currency
2) Will we see more after/before game action. By this I mean, will we see more video footages, rather than snapshots? For example, I rather see video footage rather than mere pictures of:
-manager/player press conferences
-after/before game comments
-training session highlights
-after/before game fan reactions
-top 10 goals of the season/month
-manager/player of the month
-team of the season
-player of the year award ceremony
3) Will the fans be more involved in matches?
-missile tossing
-fileing out of a stadium if team is loosing
-variety of cheers, boos, & chants
4) Will each league have the appropriate number of teams (i.e. lower divisions) or, at least, will we be allowed to pick the number of teams we want in each league?
5)Will all players in the game be allowed in the ML (created and classic players included)?

I would definitely like to see video footage of these types of things included. I remember in PESManagement that there were a lot of these kind of things and I felt it gave the game an edge and captured the imagination. Unfortunately, for various reasons, the game didn't quite take off, but I felt these kind of things were brilliant and I would definitely like to see them implemented in the PES2010 Master League.

I like some of your suggestions there, esp. goals/manager/players of the month and season.

Sorry to hijack your thread, Gunner11, but I have some suggestions myself, so instead of starting a new thread on the ML I thought I'd add them here.

My dream game, in many ways, would be a cross between PES and Football Manager. Admittedly, having a Master League with all the features of FM would take too long, but if a few of the basic features were added to the ML, such as regulating the budget/ticket prices, builiding stadiums if you're plying with "smaller" clubs, better scouting, I think it would enhance the experience (like wages and player training did back in the day). Real currency would be a bonus.

One of my biggest wishes is that more club teams are added to each league, or if not, more blank teams would be available to edit to your preference. Since I set up my ML as close to the real leagues as possible - one English (PL), one Spanish (La Liga), one Italian (Serie A), and one inter european league (other top european sides) - I'd like the 2nd division in my league to be all english/spanish/italian. In some of the recent PES editions this was made possible because of the blank team section albeit at the expense of the German league, but this disappeared in the latest version, which was a shame.

More divisoins or leagues would be welcome too, but I'd take a selection of the supposed best 2nd divison teams form, say, England, Spain and Italy too.

Oh, and I wish the player ratings would get a rewamp, perhaps through the addition of a few more stats, so that it would reflect the player (or is it just my) experience in a better way. Eg.: If a central midfielder makes over 10 passes and completes over 75% of them + gets an assist or makes so-and-so many successfull tackles, that should probably result in a 7 rating or better. A winger may not be in possesion as often as a CM, but if he makes so-and-so many successful dribbles and gets an assist, that should also result in a 7 rating. And so on...

I may come back with more later on, but that was a few of the more important points I could think of right now. As for the Q's:

1. How long have you been playing PES?
Since the ISS days on the original Playstation

2. What are the aspects that you like most about PES?
The gameplay (at least, I used to) & the Master League

3. What are the aspects that you don’t like about PES?
Too few club sides

I would like to see you as the manager get job offers at the end of the season, if you have done well at your current club or a team below you needs help. This would make the master league alot longer and you could keep playing for ages.
This is the one thing i would really love to have in the master league

In the master league at the end of season i always change my kit (if not lisenced), and what i would like to see is that you get offers from kit manufacturers with their kit ideas and you just change the colour to suit your team.

Since this thread is about Master League, I'll put it in here.

One thing that I really enjoyed about Master League in PES4 was the individual training you were able to do at the end of seasons. You could train your player to do free kicks, normal shooting practice, passing etc. At the end of the session, you would see the player's ability rising up. This only appeared in PES4 though, and it was replaced by the very lazy method of selecting what training method you want your players to do, instead of being able to do it manually.

I'm not saying that you should scrap the current method, but I they should be an option for the user to train his players manually.

I just cant help but echo your ideas. It will be aFantastic game if KONAMI could put half of them in. Good job.

1. How long have you been playing PES?
Since WE9.

2. What are the aspects that you like most about PES?
The focus on realism, the challenge of creation to beat teams.

3. What are the aspects that you don’t like about PES?
The fact that the above took a big hit in '08 and hasn't recovered. The AI has consistent problems, and the game's more advanced modes have fallen far behind those of other sports franchises, particularly in terms of depth, thereby diminishing replay value.

------------------------------------------------------------------

Some of this will be redundant, due to previous posters (with whom I am generally in agreement), but here are several posts I've made in the past (mostly regarding ML) that I'm still behind.

"More leagues and more divisions in every league, even if the teams at the bottom are made up. I want to work up from D4. From there, promotion and relegation in the Leagues you're NOT playing in ML. Reggina and Torino pinned to the bottom of Serie A for 10 seasons while you're playing La Liga and watching teams go up and down every year is irritating.

Youth/Reserve team w/ optionally playable matches - Virtually every pro club has at least one, and since part of the fun of ML for most people is developing players, this would add a great element of realism when trying to sort out and grow your kids or players who are returning from injury or are on bad form. It would take some thought, but it's perfectly doable. Total squad limits would have to be tweaked, like, your first team 32 would include 11 starters + X subs + X reserves, as is the case now, but a separate reserve squad of X amount players, another 32 or even unlimited if funds and maybe popularity allow, would be available for you to stock, with its own conditions for calling a player up to the first team.

Intra-ML training. I want to train without leaving the current ML, and I want my players to have their developed stats, not defaults.

More injuries. Injuries are a LOT more common in real life, and encountering a few more would be nice, though it would require care not to go overboard.

Cup matches shouldn't all reward such insignificant stat growth. A player playing in the CL final receives roughly a third of the growth he gains by playing the team in 20th in a league match.

Cup competitions integrated into ML. Konami, you bought the CL license, why force us into a separate mode to play it? Balancing league and European matches is an important part of the experience."

" "Hidden" players separate from "Classic" players. Generally, I'd rather not have Classics in my MLs, but I certainly want all the unlockable currently active players who happen to not be on a licensed team in the game." Would also make finding players much easier.

"I want to arrange players in the wall and adjust its angle, not just add/subtract players. I'm sick of my 6'5"-6'7" players always being stuck on the end of the wall that is completely out of the way of the free kick's potential flight paths."

I also want said tall players to make more attempts to head the ball when attacking, instead of trying pointless overheads, even when they have great jump/header stats.

"I remember back in WE9, you could find out EVERYTHING about the match. How your players moved in attack, how goals and attempts were built, how you passed throughout, et cetera. Whatever happened to that stuff?"

Seriously, this would be great. I mean, they're there explicitly for the creation of custom teams, so why aren't they available in ML? At least give us the option to make them "ML-enabled" when we create one.

Quote:
Bring back the option to change socks/shorts/shirts on the game option screen.

Another great point. Play WE United vs Newcastle or Udinese, and the CPU invariably sticks both teams with almost the same kit."

Full pitch would be great, as would dynamic camera switching."

The AI also needs to fatigue the same as your players, and needs to rotate more realistically.

The implementation of the offside rule is problematic, and the backpass rule seems to be nonextant.

All in all, I don't see an FM-style ML being a major issue, as much of it could be made optional. I know at least EA's NHL games allow you to play leagues with the micromanagement only being a concern if you set the league up to actually feature those aspects. Personally, if I am managing and developing a team, I want as much control and depth as possible.

Thanks for the opportunity to share with you, Konami!

I like that idea :) also offers from different sponsors would be good as well.

Would be a real smooth touch if we could customise the leagues i.e. being able to decide the number of teams in league A or B, for example instead of having one league of 20 and one of 12, we could have 3 leages of 10, that sort of thing. Also we should be able to put Other League B teams into the Master League. And obviously the incorporation of the Champions League and Europa Liga would be nice.
