Does anybody know whether the current PS2 Max Drive will work on PS3 when it comes out?

It's not only the max drive program that says there is no data on it, just in case you suggest using the ps2 browser or loading up a game to find out.

EDIT: I had to format the MC in the end, that was the only option available to me. Thankfully the MC was my secondary one so it's not too great a loss!

If anyone wants to know how to format the MC if they have a similar problem to mine, simply load up the max drive disc, go to MY DEVICES, then press square on the MC you want formatted.

Ugh, it's just suddenly stopped working. 'Failed to enumerate' on Max Drive AND Action Replay software, doesn't show up as a drive in My Computer but it's there in the taskbar as 'USB Mass Storage Device'. Help me please!

Double click on the taskbar icon and then click on it in the window. I think it's supposed to appear in My Computer after you do that.

Been having the same problem with camera usb cables.

Nothing doing. It opens up the Safely Remove Hardware box, and clicking on it, it just asks if I want to stop and remove it.

Yo when i drag the option file into the max drive it says some data will be lost which is document summary info should i proceed or not?
Now its saying my max drive is write protected how do i solve this?

First time I used my Max drive, i transfer a file to my MC, and I loose all the saves I had on the MC:no: :no:

Well, I have my Max Drive since yesterday, but User's manual is in german, and my german is even worst than my english:blush:

Can some of you post this manual or the link to it in english :) or spanish:w00t

Maybe you 'lost' your saves as you used the Move option instead of the Copy option?

Copy the files to the max drive and then copy them to your hard disk.

I was just wondering if theres anyway to get an option file to your memory card without max drive? My Max Drive disk seems to be have stopped working (it usually takes me 10 or so attempts to get my PS2 to read the disk but i've tried about 30-40 times and it still says 'disc read error').

I'm willing to buy another piece of hardware, cheap, to allow me to do this or if anyone has any suggestions on how to get my max drive disc working. (i've cleaned it and also tried to clean the dust from the ps2 (fan, and the disc tray).

Any help would be appreciated.

You could get an X-Port which is more reliable than a max drive (mostly due to the normal size disk). We should all complain to the makers about the small size of the max drive disks. They cause far more problems than they save.

Try turning your PS2 on its side as that helps some people. And some say that turning it upside down helps. Try it.

I had the same problem. I opened up my ps2 and cleaned the laser inside with a cotton bud and a drop of vodka!! Really!

Next i rotated the cog inside 4 clicks to left (or right i can't remember). This adjests the level of the laser when reading disks.

Fianlly i cleaned around the fan etc inside my ps2.

There are guides out there on how to do this without damaging your ps2. Read them! I would give you a link but it was a long time ago. Sorry

PS2 works great now. BTW if you are playing backups, make sure you use good quality media

Max Drive ate my memory card saves? o0

I just got a max drive, after using my trusty X-Port for so long. I downloaded a PES6 save over to it.. transferred it to my memory card. And now all of my game saves are gone? And to top it all off, the option file wont work

You mean all your save games on your MC. I experienced this once and it was a terrible feeling! Anyway, take care when you use PS2 max drive programme. I mean when you intend to transfer files from and to it.

Hope you kept backups. It is strange that some people lose all their saves when transferring a single file.

Hi , I wish I could get my hands on a MAX DRIVE , I stay in South Africa and getting your hands on one of those in my country is impossible , I guess I'm gonna have to send away for it ....

What I would like to know is , what can I do with my MAX DRIVE once I manage to come accross one.
