ML Tacticians Guide to ... AI formations

Thought it might be a good idea for the community to pool their tactical ideologies and formations for us ML offline players.

In the past on previous PES I kept a selection of tactics and formations which I used against specific teams using specific formations.

Seeing as 4-5-1 / 4-3-3 / 4-4-1-1 essentially represent at least 75% of all the team formations on PES, how do you combat it against teams using long ball or possession? I've often gone 3-6-1 defensive against teams like Barca to neutralise them what about you?

Lets get build a port folio like this for example:

When playing: Juventus, I typically use 4-5-1 with very wide wingers as they are a compact side. I also use two attacking midfielders centrally as theirs tend to be more defensive minded.

Nice thread. I'm desperate to know how you guys deal with the AI in ML this year.
I'm playing on top player as fc copenhagen and struggling more than ever. Got promoted though, but playing in premier league it's so damn difficult.

First i played a traditional 4-4-2 with very wide wingers, but in d1 it doesn't seem to work so i usually play 4-5-1 the same as you mention with Juve to get more depth in the midfield - especially when facing teams like liverpool, tottenham, man u man city chelsea etc.

For me personally , I feel that most of the A.I teams are using long ball tactics . Is it me or is anyone else feeling the same way ?

No it isn't you, that really is a key point in PES 12. Through/Long balls to fast forwards is a huge win, however one on ones with the keepers aren't that easy to finish this year. So it cancels out in a way, you better dribble the keeper for a higher chance to score.

I also play 4-4-1-1 with Juve, with Del Piero SS and Eto'o CF. Side middlefielders Krasic and Pepe are slightly moved forward, since both of them are extremely quick. I score a lot of goals with Del Piero, his shooting technique is incredible, from the right position. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pwCqY9A9mUA)

^ Yeah one on ones are insanely difficult to score, but as you say it goes both ways. My keeper saves them everytime like the AI keeper. But however it's waaay to easy just running around the keeper and score
