The PES 2010 demo does not best the FIFA 10 demo in any single area. And this is coming from someone who has been a PES Fan since ISS Pro '98. I bought every iteration of the series from ISS Pro '98 through to PES 2009, and I preferred each to the FIFA counterpart at the time. Yes. That does include preferring PES 2009 to FIFA 09.
But based on what the demo brings to the table; PES 2010 can be looked at as nothing other than a graphical improvement on PES 2009, with less responsive gameplay, and loose ball control. The only noticable differences are in the A.I. and game speed. The goalkeepers are still in need of work. And the new formation set-up, tactics, and card system, are irrelevant (in my books) until the gameplay is up to standard.
Enhanced movement? It is difficult to experience any substancial improvement, nevermind the 360 degree movement. But that could be in part due to the poor response times hindering its benefits.
Passing? It's similar to the passing found in PES 2009 but, not as crisp, nor as accurately weighted. The ball appears to be too heavy.
Graphics? Yes. They are fantastic.
The boots? Who cares about boots. The fact that the boots are mentioned as a positive actually reflects poorly on the demo, because it gives the impression of clutching at straws.
Great passing that is so realistic? You mentioned the passing already. It's no more realistic than PES 2009. And it does not in any way better the passing found in the FIFA 10 demo.
All of this may change come time of the full games' release but, in regards to the demo nothing as such can be claimed, at least not without rose tinted glasses.
I'm speaking as both a concerned PES fan and as a potential customer who feels for £30 - £40 that the final product would need to be a hell of a lot better than what is presented in the demo.
