Negotiations Put On Hold

Anyone know how to get around this. Even with all settings set to the lowest I can't seem to sign certain players.

And what's even more retarded is when they declare that the negotiation has been put on hold, they say the player is on his way and it will remain so throughout the negotiation period until the season begins.

Most times I try raising the fee by just a bit.. Maybe 50 - 200 pts but it doesn't help. Lowering the fee doesn't either and neither does raising or lowering the salary. And yet I have it set at ML level very easy. I ask myself. What's the point then if you can't get the player at any difficulty. Very easy ML level is just as agonizingly difficult as very hard. And all this considering I'm at team rating S so it certainly isn't an issue of the other team out-ranking me.

Surely if I am offering twice their asking price, the deal should go through.

And almost every time they put up the Put on Hold thing, the next week they say so and so is moving to Chelsea and it is always one team (Chelsea being the recurring team on my game)..

The other team may simply not want to sell, or even try and hold out until you or another club offers more money. It's quite a smart move to be honest, especially if you're pending other negotiations at the time and waiting to see which are successful/failed in order to have the correct amount of transfer money left. I've never witnessed a club leaving me in the dark before though I don't think, or not to the extent of several weeks.

You're saying you're offering twice the "asking price", but when I think about it, this may not even be an "asking price" as the club may have no desire to sell. It could simply be the player's valuation, along with what their salary is at their current club. I've already turned down one or two offers myself as clubs have come in for my best players, I think the main point here is that not every club will sell their most prized asset.

Have you noticed the number beside the players name when applying for a transfer ? Not the salary figure, but the number to the right side of it, as it ranges from 0-100. If it's at 0, then there is no chance of the player wanting to leave, however the higher this number, then the more likely the player will leave. The players you are negotiating for may simply not want to leave their current clubs.

He's right. I always want to sign Rooney, but his transfer likelihood is always between 5-15. He's obviously too happy at Man U and there's literrally no way to prise him away.

For what its worth, I have signed a player with a transfer potential as low as "5" (Del Piero after he was reborn) at a very costly price and after sequential "breakdown" and "on hold" responses during the end of season transfer period.

It's luck of the draw, in my experience. Nine times out of ten, negotiations will fail with a low likelihood, but occasionally, they'll succeed for whatever reason. It's worth a shot if you really want someone.

I think its random. I've actually find it easier buying players with transfer likelihood 0%.
I don't think the game's A.I is intelligent enough to differentiate between the different percentages. Don't think those numbers mean anything.

Signed him after only 2 attempts. Reset the game and tried again several times just to test and I was still able to get him. Yet when I try signing Sissoko or Baptista who are rated at 3% and 13% transfer likelihood respectively, they just wont budge.

I know what you're saying. I've experienced it. When the negotiation is put on hold it always say "the player name on his way to Cagliari?" Why is it always Cagliari.

just raise the fees more, normally i raise it by 800 straigh away if they dont sell.
for good player like a 26yr rooney, i raise by 3000, on the first attempt so i dont waste time.
