Excellent news about these new boots, I honestly would never have expected Konami to grab these licenses for the edit mode. Hats off to them. I would have been elated with just 16 slots and Adidas and Puma boots, but also to include Nike is top draw. If we're able to further edit these slots too, then it really does seem like Konami are throwing a lot into edit mode once again. Again, the licensed balls is also excellent news.

Obviously the gameplay is the key element combined with the AI, but just having so many options in edit mode such as the 80 kit templates, 16 boot slots with added licenses etc will just make the game that bit more realistic. Every player will now have an added sense of individualism and it's also the little things that count.

If only we could use those Edited Teams (and Players) in Online Play... now that would be awesome.

delighted with the way the gameplay sounds as a massive improvement is needed. As with the boots these are all things that will work in tandem with the gameplay to make it more immersive. I am very intrigued to see the number of stadiums featured in the game although from some of the screen shots it seems the fake ones from pes 08 remain. According to wikipedia anfield and OT are featured but i still think this wont be the case and wikipedia is rarely right about the stadiums. Sounds cliche but the gameplay is the most crucial thing and comments so far have been positive. The ability to untuck shirts also has to return this year.

Completely agree, after PES2008, i thought KONAMI could never had grabbed the licenses. This is a step forward. Maybe they have been listening to us, i mean the goalkeepers, defense, free kicks have been re-worked. Like you can no longer run through a team with Messi or someone. If the 09 turns out to be these, theres no doubt i will once again enjoy it :)

yes i agree untucked shirts option needs to come back it was so annoying on pes 2008 to see players like c.ronaldo, messi, quaresma, rooney and many more with their shirts tucked in, i know its a minor thing but it jus annoyed me so much it took the individual look away from the players and made them look like twats.

I would also like to see better movement of the body of the players im fed up of players running like they need the toilet and they all shoot in the same old way, konami need to get some top quality motion sensor sessions going like fifa to get the players body parts moving correctly instead of jus making them move and run like robots.

with that said the most important thing is gameplay and its good to hear that its much better than wot pes2008 was. man i cant wait to see some gameplay videos later this month.

80 kit options? Brilliant! I thought half-decent editing was gone for good on PES...
I didn't think the gameplay on PES 2008 was half as bad as people made it out to be - yes, it favoured the attacking side ridiculously and there were some other niggles, but there was nothing major in there to put me off. Still, I am looking forward to being able to keep clean sheets again, and like I said, the re-improved editing is a very big plus for me. And rumours have said nearly all players have proper faces, not the PES 2008 cloned ones, which is fantastic - I'm sick of players looking too much alike. Of course, we won't find out the niggles in the game until it's released, but the positives sound big enough and numerous enough to make it a significant improvement on PES 2008. And Fifa? It sounds all right, but to me it's always lacked the depth of Pro Evo. I've never regretted switching to Pro Evo since I found out how good it was. Particularly now that Konami are getting more licenses, I feel that I've got no reason to switch back.

But you can untuck their shirts in PES2008 if you want to

And you know Konami need to get player licences, if they want to get players movement and all that, or they could use an ordinary human

I really want lots of new national teams. It sucks that the African and Asia cups starts at the quarters. Just chuck in every nation in the world thats part of FIFA, even the shitty ones like Faroe Islands, Chad, Nepal, etc. The ultimate challenge would be defeating Brazil as Andorra, or with any other crappy team, on maximum difficulty. We would also be able to play the matches everyone secretly wishes they could, like:

Palestine v Israel - In this quite literally explosive Derby match there is more then local pride at stake. If Palestine win, it means the Israelies must get out of their territory. Victory for Israel means they can continually occupy the Palestinian land. Not a match for the faint hearted.

North Korea v South Korea - Victory for the North means their nation will be sawed off from the South, and will become an island. Completely independent.

Afghanistan v USA - No doubt the Afghans will want to get one over on Bush. They have the chance in a football match.[/QUOTE]

The most bizarre post ive ever read on any forum ever!

I agree with putting in some National teams. Put in there all the teams that were present in cups in PES 2008/PS2.

Yea but you can't on the 360 or PS3 version and it doesnt look like you can in pes 2009 either..which is very lazy on Konami's part! :realmad:

well the 360 and PS3 version have more hair options, accessories and boots than the PS2 version

But untucking shirt is a tiny part of the game, does it matter? as long as the graphics, gameplay and durability is great, not everything can be perfect
