I'm getting a xbox360 for christmas and thi would really not need to be true. Konami are doing themselves out of a lot of money if they dont produce a xbox version. Looks like I'll be gettin the Ps2 version. PES 2008 on the PS2 is actually quite good.

Im also quite sceptical about this. I have a ps3 so it wouldnt effect me but I know a lot of people with a 360 and they would probably riot if this happened!!! And like people have been saying, why would konami do themselves out of like 40% ish of their revenue for this game? I can only think Sony must have offered a large sum of money. I still think this would be a bad thing despite us ps3 owners having a better game and bragging rights etc. . . Just seems unfair on the fans of the series who own an x box.

Soooo if hes got all the basics down for every next gen console......why would he just worry about the ps3 one? This right here tells you theres going to be a major overhaul BUT it will be much easier to do so because now they have a starting point for every console..... and hand-held i guess.

Oh no it doesn't. He says "a complete overhaul in every aspect", stright after saying "now i don't have to worry about creating the basic parts...". This would suggest that he thinks the basics are right, so it would therefore infer that it won't be a ground-up build, ergo not a complete overhaul.

I do love the rumour mill. Read into it what you will, the proof of the pudding will be in the eating as they say.

well yeah thats what i mean. I dont think he will start from scratch he will just add and improve the game with the code that they have now. Better grafix, better sound, better gameplay, better modes and more modes.

But really why do ppl hate on pes08 so much? I think its an amazing game me and my freinds love it.

If they do it ps3 exclusive they'll truly loose a lot of money because so far the 360 is more popular. Also I agree with the above. Pes 2008 is pretty good.

Ok heres how i usually judge a game.


The highest score ever given to a PES game ( or winning eleven ) on IGN ( which in my opinion is the best site for reviews ) was a 9.4 I believe and it was WE8....and this PES2008 got a 8.6.....ok so WE8 has a higher score....but which is better NOW when you play it?

PES2008 of course.

So im tired of ppl saying this years VERSION sucks because it doesnt.

I agree that yes they coulda improved it a little more but its still the best sports title out there.....and as far as easy scoring goes...hmmm idk about that i usually play on the top 2 difficulties vs. AI and freinds and it is not easy to score....maybe you guys who score easily or get scored on either play very bad ppl or you cant play defense. My avg. goals per match is just around 2 goals....and conceded about .4 something.

So please stop saying this years version sucks. Yes we8 was a BIGGER jump forward becuase introduced many new gameplay elements and better grafix and more teams but you cant always have such a leap forward.

Sorry, but it does. PES 6 with improved graphics would've been better received as the game mechanics were intact. 2008's AI is shockingly bad. Single player is a cake walk as it's too easy to score using 1 or 2 simple techniques, all you have to do is make sure you score more than your opponents do.

Saying that, I'm likely to buy it again today... for some reason I can't get PES6 to hook up online so I'm missing out on some competition :mellow:

Well thats your opinion. I think the A.I. this year is superb and like i said Im a great defender on that game so scoring is hard to do against me.

That may be true....BUT dont always hold the A button ( or w.e it is for ps3 ) that way if the offender switches his direction you are screwed and yes then u do lose your mark easy....so when defending fast players just back paddle and then go at him

yeah fully thats waht i meant.....off topic but they need to bring SNOW back it was fun playing while it snowed. Also does it make a difference when it rains in pes2008? i always feel that its harder for my players to run and the ball behaves differently so idk if it makes a difficerence or not or maybe its just me!

Rain makes alot of difference when it comes to goalkeeping, as they fumble it alot more often. I'm not sure what other aspects rain affects though...
