New Slim PS2 - PSTwo

Hmm, look interesting, my friends getting one soon. I have to say, the loudness of the fans in my PS2 are incredibly annoying! So having a silent, or near silent PS2 would certainly make my day :)

Yeah it looks really nice. Mind you, the noise of the original doesn't bother me much, my PC has 6 fans and drowns out all other noise in my house.

Another thing, the new PS2 won't accept the x-port console disk to access the memory card!
Anyone confirm whether the max drive can be used with the "new" console? Otherwise, I have to rather annoyingly get my old PS2 out & load the .xps files onto that.

Apart from being absolutely humungous in an ugly, Jan Molby kind of way, the old machine had turbine fans in it the size of Finland, that were like living under the flight path of Heathrow when in mid-game or DVD.
Three great comparisons there, especially the Jan Molby one, made me chuckle.

I want be getting one, I'll spend me dosh on something else methinks.

It plays DVD's fine. That was the one of the main plusses for me getting one. Now I can listen to a DVD without the neighbours complaining about the turbines in the old PS2.
Yeah, the converter is rather big, but there's a long lead on it, so I can hide it behind the telly, well out of the way. I should think most people would be able to do the same.
The only real limitation is that the x-port disc won't load on it.
