I have been saying it for about 3 years now, they need to overhaul the set pieces. They don't reflect real life set pieces at all, there is no freedom in where players can go, no ability to set up runs, plan out attacking or defensive moves or ability to move a player to a fixed stop.

Why can't we select what players move where for a corner or free kick?

To me, it looks like the same game as PES 2013, but with more weight to the player movements.

Defenders in PES 2014 should be more like PS2 times, i mean stronger, more effective, less pinball when they try to intercept the ball, since PES 2012 dribbling is to easy, R1 and analog is all we need to pass defensive line. Sadly, for what i've seen i can forget about my expectations. Mechanics of gameplay seem to be very similar, so probably triangle button will again take a leading role in PES 2014 :)

The turning animations look frustrating. Quite slow. I know they are trying to simulate weight but real players more a lot faster on the turn.

Watching the second video ign just posted, it looks a bit messy. Feel like there needs to be a lot more done. This could be a bit of a disaster... The foundations are there. I hope for next gen they look to refining and not adding new stuff. Otherwise it could be the end.

Not really. Player movement seems better, but like Fifa, is likely let down by the amount of animations this current gen can use.

There are a few moments where you see players physically fighting for the ball, and it looked good to me. I don't like how when you collide it sometimes looks like a unstoppable force meeting an immovable object. They just stop dead with no real sign of contact.

I think a lot of what they're doing though won't translate well in video form, and playing it will be the only way to grasp the effect of a lot of the new stuff.

True, but unfortunately I think I'm gonna be left disappointed after 5mins of playing the demo. I'm going in with very low expectations.

Maybe.

As I bought up before, I fear the same will happen as PES13. I loved the demos and then the game was nothing like them really more like PES12.

Really hoping that isn't the case this time.

The second video looks so promising....Through balls are either under weighted or over weighted. Pirlo's free kick was straight at the keeper...maybe that means that guiding dots aren't Over powered.

I think the first IGN video is human vs. cpu, and that's why it looked a little messy. Sorry, but my expectations are pretty low.:(

What are the odds of a demo date today ?

Gamescom unofficially kicks off today with Microsoft doing a media briefing and Sony and EA doing conferences.

Would be nice to have it release today or tomorrow.

Yeah also just heard that EVERY Xbox One in Europe comes with FIFA14 free...

Can't believe it. FIFA sells well anyway.
