Will be going to back to Fifa this year - I played Fifa from 2000 - 2004, but then I changed to PES until 2011. I bought both PES and Fifa that year and I liked Fifa better, so I bought Fifa 12 the next year, this year I went back to PES as I was starting to get bored of Fifa. But after the initial promise of the PES Demo, I quickly realized what a disgrace of a game PES 2013 was, £40 and hours of wasted time later, I can safely say I will never buy a Konami game again.
Here are my reasons why:
The online is a complete disgrace, it literally takes 2 minutes to find an online competitor and then connect with him, and then you can not avoid playing him ( Once you see he is one of the majority who is a through-ball spamming Ronaldo loving cretin) without disconnecting from the internet. Unlike Fifa there is no option where you can choose opponents who pick reasonable teams, literally 90% of people ( I suspect most people that play it are 12 year olds that don't watch football) pick "Ronaldo C.F). Only to through ball all game, and score the most unskillful and horrible goals ever. zzzzZZZZZzzzzzZZZZZZ BORINGGGG.
As I said above, the vast majority of people online just look to exploit the games flaws, they don't play real football, instead all they do all game is play through-balls to Ronaldo, through-balls which your retarded defenders can't stop. There is hardly any individual tactical settings for each player(even compared to 7 years ago on PES) and there is no team tactical setting to stop your defense pushing up right to the half-way line every time you have possession in the oppositions half.
Headers on this game are broke, simple as that, most headers simply baloon up in the air miles over the bar. Konami failed here.
Shooting from outside the box is too easy, so long rangers feel cheap and common. When shooting from short range you can't hit the ball low in hard, rather the ball will float in the air mid height when trying to finish a 1 vs 1.
AI sucks big time, I have played a entire Master League campaign with Atletico Madrid and not once have the opposition had more possession than me, without going into to much detail the games against AI are way too easy on all difficulty settings and they don't play realistic football, as soon as they get the ball they will just run forward into a group of my players try to get to my goal in 5 passes at most. Unrealistic and boring, Konami don't watch football.
Soundtrack - ONLY 8 SONGS!!!! Disgrace, and to the person who said I should make my own soundtrack. NO, I payed Konami £40 and expect an complete games. Fifa has well over 30 songs, back in 2004 they had 30 songs!!! 8 songs means I have to mute the game every time I am on the menu because I am sick of them.
Player ratings are abysmal, nearly all La Liga teams and players are hugely underrated. Most of the teams are unplayable.
When you take a free-kick linear with the opposition's penalty box, their defense will line up ahead off the ball ( to the opposite direction of their own goal they should be defending), so you can just cross it into the empty space. Same when you are defending them, you can only re-position one player to try and fix this, obviously this doesn't work. Retarded!!! Again, Konami show they don't understand football.
AI score literally 80% of their free-kicks, why? Why the hell would Konami do this? To try and make up for how poor the AI are generally?
Tackling, why do you have to tap X twice to tackle? This way it makes it slower to react to the balls movement and to perfectly time the tackle, it should just be one tap to tackle.
Master League mode ruined with stupid additions like acquiring football boots after every game!!!
No League mode!
Back to Fifa next year for me, at least it's playable. Don't be fooled by Konami, even if they fix some of these problems then new game-breaking problems will arise. That's how Konami work, because they are incompetent.
