I've had that, usually occurs when I'm pressing the RS to put somebody on a run, so could be to do with that? Might change if you change everything to manual (data part has changed where you can change many things from auto if you haven't already).

Anyway, Huddlestone is my favorite player on the demo, he plays exactly how he does in real life. Some moments, very poor video quality, took it on my blacberry and it got even worst when I uploaded it for some reason.

First is a thunder bolt off of the post. Second is a screaming into the bottom corner and the third is just a Huddlestone long pass to Lennon. Pass might not look great through the video, but in the moment it was just awesome and demonstrated how good the passing is in this game, really crucial to take risks and try to play these type of balls, because it looks so great when you do it. Love his shooting too, very realistic and the way he usually shoots in real life for Spurs, some low driven shots, also shows shooting isn't just 'floaty', you just need to learn the system of shooting.

Hudd is superb on the game.. has a rocket of a shot just like in real life.

For sure... all companies do it.. look at the shaving companies.. they bring out one shaver and its the best thing yet... then a few months down the line there is an EVEN better one! all they did was make the blade thinner.. like they couldnt have done that before.

That's not the best comparison, I mean, hair grows back, therefore shaving companies do not really need to improve their product so that people continue buying their products.

I think that PES and FIFA are so outdated that neither Konami nor EA Sports need to worry about doing too much, though luckily for them, even if they barely tweak their game on a yearly basis, newer generations of fans will replace the older ones, so it is a very good business.

Much, much better in almost every way. Only three negatives stick out at the moment:

1. So-called "reverse catchup bug" seems to make ANY player, regardless of speed and dribbling stats, uncatchable if they break the defensive line. Keepers seem much better 1v1, though, so it hasn't cost me yet.

2. Defenders and other players with poor technical abilities and dribbling skills still have crazy good close control and dribble their way out of pressure far too often and too easily, and make passes Sneijder would find difficult in real life.

3. I have yet to encounter a free kick from the AI that wasn't signed, sealed, delivered to the top corner. In fact, the only goals I've given up have been from FKs. I've had Ranocchia on the post, only to have the ball laser through the inches between his head (at full leap) and the post, straight into the angle. The keepers, at least, try to get to them more than last year, but it's annoying how perfect they always are. I think it's due to the fact that lining a FK up correctly per the game's mechanism triggers the sequence that prevents a certain player in the wall from jumping and more or less guides the ball to a place where the keeper usually can't/won't reach it, and the AI will virtually always dial it in accurately. It's been a problem in past versions, but it seems really over the top now.

A few tweaks in these key areas, and it'll be the best PES in a long time, imo.

qft

but the problem is they wont fix it... hopefully yair can fix this somehow with a patch but very hard.

Sup Spursman,

Not one existing profitable company does that!

With the example of the shaver, the next best thing or shaver that is released was most likely done so because of improvements to the product through new and innovative ideas or through R&D (Research and Development)

There are instances where new features are not included into readily marketable products.... but they are not "holding back" for next year.....but instead testing the newer features before they can add them or getting them passed by federal or government laws.

In the case of PES.....it seems they only start working on the next title 2012 six months before release date. My reasoning is based on the fact they released two demos.

One year of PR and R&D should only result in one playable demo...similar to Fifa's strategy.

The fact that PES 2012 has a lag/glitch on the XBoX360 coupled with the fact that they pulled the first "demo of the demo" also suggest that development was barely started a few measly months ago.

Based on this ...i can only forecast a horrid experience for XBOX users.

My 3 gripes are - 1. The reverse catch-up bug (which i won't go into), 2. Defending against the cpu is at times impossible! But this may resolve itself with time and practice... 3. Keepers are still useless. Anything from outside the box on target will go in. I fired a tame looping shot from outside the box with kroos and the keeper just flapped at it. It went in without much ceremony... Even inside the box is tragic. Defoe hit a trickling first time shot, which crept past my floundering keeper. And there keepers are no less than julio ceaser and neur... This needs to be fixed urgently.

Will the demo ever be available to Xbox Silver members prior to release? I don't game online anymore so I don't see the need to spend money on Gold membership, and Microsfot being the usual moneygrabbing monopolising sh!ts that they are have only allowed this demo for Gold members. It's really p!ssed me off.

Downloaded the demo last night and have played 2 games.

I really like the second demo, a bit different from the first but overall improvement. Passing has improved, shooting imo is now perfect, goalkeepers have improved again and the general game is just brilliant.

Few small gripes really, the big step up in difficulties could be weird for some people. My first game was on amateur to just really have a practise and get a proper good feel of the game and i managed 8 goals. I then went to regular to then test myself a bit more after being happy with how it plays. Played as Spurs and won 1-0 against Bayern.. But my god Neuer is immense on this game, 18 shots on target i had and he kept me out on so many occasions.

Now this step up isnt a problem for me, i am more thinking on a broad spectrum for new players or new buyers of pes that this big significant step up could maybe be a problem for those who arent used to pes and how it plays.

My only other gripe is the stats, stats are obscene. Lennon a 90? What seems crazy is Spurs are basically rated better then Man United and yet just look at it, Spurs finished 5th, United won the PL, United scored more goals and conceded less, United got to the CL final and have since the start of the season smashed our way through 4 PL games.

This is something which annoys me a bit in the stats.. Not to mention Inter and Milan being overated too.

Appart from that the game is perfect.

Dont see whats wrong with stating an opinion.

I like pes2012 and tbh if its how it is, it will definately be the best pes since the move over to NG.

Just because you dont like it, doesnt mean that everyone else has to share that opinion and hate it and it doesnt mean its a facepalm if people like it.

To me I am not sure gameplay wise what else they could improve? Little touches here and there but nothing big atm, maybe that will change when i play more games who knows

Actually no its fully worthy of facepalm.

Anyone who claims some game is perfect is obviously a fanboy and blind, no game is ever perfect and there are always flaws and things to improve, if you fail to realize that then your a blind fanboy.

And yes about the game itself some people's opinion might differ, but I highly doubt most people would not agree with a few flaws that are quite obvious in pes 2012:

- defenders have too good close control, theres almost no difference between a defender and attacker in terms of that ( and its not stats its too little difference between a 70 or 80, pes 2011 had a clear difference in such a little change. )

- once the attacker beats ur defender u won't catch him, EVER. It doesn't matter if he only has 2m advantage or if his top speed is 70 and urs is 90, its almost like a bubble prevents you from catching him or your defender doesn't want to run at full speed ( yes removing catch up bug is good but making it opposite and to the next extreme is bad ).

- Keepers are still not really as good as they should be

-Refs still suck

Are you denying these obvious flaws?

^ I do agree with you, HOWEVER, this 2nd demo has a few notable differences.

For example the close control. I know it is a bit too good, but IN THE 2ND DEMO, not the first, there is a difference between attackers and defenders. You feel like they are heavier to dribbler while players like robben and ribery are much more flexible and have an overall better touch. I agree that this variation should be made more clear though. The close control is still an issue that needs fixing, BUT OVERALL, tons better than in the first demo.

First touch. In the first demo, every player, including defenders had a super good first touch. In the 2nd demo, it depends on the situation and the player. YES THE DEFENDER CAN MAKE A MISTAKE like in pes 11 now in the 2nd demo if they get the first touch wrong. A good point again I believe.

Keepers. I haven't really tested them TBH, but I do not want superhuman goalkeepers, however in pes 12, they still spill a bit too much, but overall, they're much better than in pes 11. They save much more, even if they don't catch the ball. At least, they save it. Yes it does need fixing do not get me wrong, but as I said, much better than pes 11.

Ofcourse this game has bug that need fixing, but overall I think it's enjoyable and in the end it's what matters. Yes, I will probably complain about the issues I listed above, but they aren't nearly as bad as they were in the first demo.

At least now, we can defend with a quicker standing tackle properly and that was highly needed after the first demo.

It is happening again
It still annoys me that you're not in full control of a player's movement when running on to a pass.

Don't know if it's just me, but I'm finding it a lot more difficult to put myself through on goal, 1 on 1. Obviously this is a good thing, more realistic.

^True, THE AI JUST RARELY MAKES A MISTAKE. ;)

As for the control. Yeah, this is unfortunately a pes problem that annoys alot of fans. Still, I think that if you play with a manual 2nd player control, the game opens up much more. Try it if you haven't.

I tried manual 2nd player control, I assume you mean when you press down the right stick to control another player. Assisted is easy, you find your player press down and he makes a straight run up the field where you could try a through ball but manual man its hard! Im controlling my guy, and I want the 2nd guy to go a different way, it gets tricky... I need to train my brain to be able to do that I guess :D

having played 20 or so matches I think demo 2 is a great improvement on any football game next gen. It honestly has everything i want and expect to get with the controler i have in my hand.

But, one aspect of the game really ruins it's chance of being the perfect football game, players can dribble way too easy. Even defenders can twist and turn with the ball - it's a joke.

Please Konami dumb down the lower end of 'drib acc' and 'drib speed'. For sure the likes of Messi should be as good as players are now, but not the 'grave digger' centre half that's built like a brick **** house!

The pace of the game will be awesome if this one thing is put right.

It really sucks! Pes 2011 better

2011 was good but 2012 has much deeper gameplay. Once you get used to the demo its hard to go back and enjoy 2011, its just too simple with limited player movement and bad shooting. PES 2012 in demo form is already better than 11.

i am still amazed people actually liked pes 11 that for me was by far the biggest letdown in pes series but this years it just gets better and better every time you play it i seem to like every thing about it apart from the skillfull def you play against if they tonned that down it could be my fav pes for a long time

I'm going to ask my favorite question here again :)

Has anyone played the demo with 2 human players on one team?

I've always played ML with a friend like that, and it's so much fun.. though in PES2011, the controls like this were badly flawed in many situations. How is it in PES2012 demo?
