No scripted play in PES 2011 MY ASS

It is quarter final stage of CL. I'm Arsenal going head to head against Barca. 1st leg at Camp Nou. All my key players have turned up either "blue" arrow or at best normal green. I say OK.
I change my usual formation from 4-3-3 to a defensive 4-5-1. I manage to hold them off and create chances to score the 1st goal.
Suddenly, I find myself 2-1 down to two of the most rubbish disgusting unrealistic goals I have ever seen in PES thanks to cursor not changing.
Anyways, back at home I bombard their goal only to find myself frustrated at each opportunity because Hilderbrand's stats have suddenly gone upto sth like 300. Saving every shot, clearing corners, fisting well-taken free kicks. My front trio are Ronaldo, Arshavin and Ibrahimovic. they have scored 60+ this season if summed up and out of nowhere, while on top RED form, they cant shoot for SHIT. Empty gaping nets on some occasions, lots of one on ones and just no result. 0-0 and I'm out.
Shots on target: 16 me to 4 Barca,
Possession: 58- 42
And I am still out to SCRIPTED PLAY by PES to allow Barca through by effectively DRAINING my player stats and USHERING the ball where it wants.

Still haven't seen anything like this myself, and until I do it's hard not to think posts like this are from people who maybe just are angry about losing to the COM. In other words, I'll believe it when I see it myself, if I ever do.

I wonder though why I'm able to win the Prem League on Top PLayer in my first season with default players if there is scripting. Why doesn't the CPU fight harder when they know I'm about to go top of the table and I'm only a goal up? I just don't see it, but maybe one day I will.

Personally, I think we need less of these sorts of posts. My concern is that these complaints will lead to Konami making the game easier, when it's already way too easy. In my opinion more "AI cheating" is what's needed. I mean, they barely ever even attack.

Of course, I realize the right way to fix this for Konami is not to make the game easier, but these sorts of complaints (which I still don't believe are valid, personally), take the emphasis away from the real problem, which is that the difficulty is too low and the AI aren't aggressive enough.

Several factors explain why you are winning the premier league the obvious being you are very good at the game and probably have a reasonable side.

If you're an intermediate player with an average team you can really see the black and white scripting that exists on PES2011. I won't play against the CPU because its not worth it, playing MLO against human players is a much more worthwhile gain.

I can appreciate it must look and read like sour grapes but it isn't my friend, there are too many people getting annoyed with it for it to be coincidental. I'm afraid you fall into a minority.

Careful what you say, KONAMI are just the right guys to hear to that sort. No one in his right mind would want more AI cheating than it already has plagued PES.

I'll give you another example, after a long hard season of scraping as many points as I can even though I should have had more if it weren't for scripting, With Arsenal I managed to stay top of the table till the final game when I was 1 point above Man Utd. I play Everton, 3-0, cruise control really. 80'th minute, cursor doesn't change, goal. 84th minute, Sagna clears it(square) right to the forward's head, it rebounds into the net. Injury time, Free Kick from middle of the field, I clear it, they take a freakishly long shot, goal. Turn off system in rage, then I win the match 1-0 in the second time of asking because I won't be cheated out of a league title.

u just need more practice. LOL j/k I hear you!!! The worst part of all is the way defenders catch up to attacking players, it really drives me nuts to have Messi on great form (RED ARROW) caught by some slow defender in the openfield. AMAZING!!! IT should be fixed and patched asap!

Seabass himself admitted scripting was in last gen PES, the problem with the latest versions is its being taken to an unbearable level and almost seems to have gotten to a petty standard. It may the best football sim imo, but I agree this game is scripted, its very naive to think these complaints are about difficulty. I you play offline ML on top player you will be gobsmacked at how bad it can get. It sometimes feels like konami want to play the game for us which is fucking insulting as I paid the 40 pound for this game. The sickening thing is the AI is coded to exploit the player switch faults at every opportunity. The refs are also coded to give certain decisions to the AI that would be impossible for you to get.

2. I've played over 200 hours on PES 2010, and never saw anything I could personally interpret as cheating. I haven't played enough of PES 2011 yet to be sure, but if it does happen it must be only in certain games, like CL, cup finals, etc. If I do see it with my own eyes I will certainly believe it.

So, it's not that I'm saying I think those who say these sorts of things are liars, but at the same time it's important I think for someone like me who is in the minority and has concerns about the difficulty to voice those concerns, share my perspective. You're perfectly entitled to your opinion, I wouldn't censure a follow PESgaming member. I do think you are in a fortunate position in being very good at the game, I think you should get on MLO as it sounds like you would do very well.

you can try this patch:

PES2011_no_script_AI_by_komu

it might be placebo effect or not , but I got it few hours ago and the game now feels better. The gameplay seems more dynamic and fluid.
Also, the "strange" poor form for key players at certain matches is gone..

and it fixed my issue with purple arrows in created players!!


i wish it could fix the player switching nightmare too :laugh:

You are right in one regard they do barely attack but in this years version when they do theres sometimes not much you can do about it (50+ yd through balls down the middle anyone?)

However to say it needs more AI cheating is wrong imo. What it needs is for Konami to create AI which reacts more fluidly to whats happening on pitch and provide more challenge, scripted cheating is just a cheap way to cover up for poor programming, its a lazy programmers solution imo

Certainly wouldn't call you a liar but really I think that perhaps your just a more easy going person whos not seeing it. Case in point the other day after three matches where my whole team are on yellow or red arrows (no lie) I have to play MAN U who are second and suddenly my whole team can only muster 3 first teamers on greens, the rest are on blues and purples and just to rub ***t in the wound one of my best defenders get injured in training for 2 weeks the day of the match... coincidence maybe, not a chance these sorts of things have happened for years stretching right back to PES6 at least in the ML

a got that patch from a friend of mine, hes a member of that board, there they make custom patches for games and stuff...
i tested the patch myself and it has no virus or spyware...just make sure you back up your pes2011.exe file (even tho the patch makes a bak file too)

so far i have been playing a lot with this new patch and i found no problems..and as i said might be placebo effect but i love the game now
