Odd one - crashing for no apparent reason.

And before anyone says "search the forum" or "delete replay files" and so on, it is NOT that problem.

I was about to play a master league WEFA championships semi final second leg but when the game loads (ie after formation), it crashes.

I have the superpatch installed, and have done for a little while, and it's performed faultlessly to date. I have not changed anything to do with set up. I've tried deleting some replays and so on from all folders to make sure they are all quite small. I've tried changing the line-ups and kits in case there was a random glitch, Etc.

The game will load as usual if I play an exhibition match or cup ame etc. It's just this master league file.

Any ideas at all? To be fair, I've already won all the trophies on master league at 5* so I'm not too fussed, but I wanted to see if I could go for my second season on the trot unbeaten.

And I'd like to add that I've been playing this master league for 4 seasons now. It really does just seem to be a bug or some other random shit, but if anyone has any ideas, I'd like to try to salvage it.

I had the same problem I think. I wasnt able to play my master league, and exibition match, or watch any replays. Im not sure if this is the same problem you are having. What I did to fix it was go to my "Folder 1" and take out everything except my option file, replays, and master league saved data. Im not a genious when it comes to this kind of stuff but it worked for me so hopefully it can help you out.

i got hte superpatch installed aswell and it just comes out with a SEND ERROR or wahtever error..

Flakmonkey, this is it too.. its the kind of problem that WinXP realises is one and asks if I want to report it or not.

When you say check the stadium and away kits in ggs, could you be more specific, or am I being stupid? As I mentioned, I've tried changing the kit in case that was a problem. It's odd. FlankMonkey, who were you playing and where? I'm playing Real Madrid at hom.. so its a stadium I always play in, and have played in since installing the patch. I've also played Real once since, with their white kit, and no problem.

rkinder I've tried to contact Konami by E-mail on three occasions and I have had no reply or acknowlegement about this very problem on the Konami website. I getting the same problem on Windows Xp and Windows 98 Se. I have done exactly the same as you in deleting replays in folder 1 , leaving option file intact but saving my other replays in the other folders etc checking forum for answers.

To be Honest I am disgusted with Konami in not at least putting out a patch to sort out this problem.

I am starting to wonder if they actually (game developers)tested out this game on a system. It is true that many people are going to have different components that make up their computer, which could effect the game, but the game should at most work with components which are in the specification for the game. taking into account motherboard chipsets that where contemporary at the time when the game was created at the time e.g. Nforce 2, Nforce4 ect VIA, there is only a finite amount of components .

I just got that crash also, first i thought its too many replays in fodder1 again, but no its just like you said. I got a master league game against bayern munchen, and it crashes when I press play button after formation screen, with that win xp report nonsense.

I also have superpatch installed (first version i think), will try to see if i can save my game with uninstalling and playing without superpatch.

aha! Apparently there is\was a problem with early versions of the Superpatch!
Can you play exhibition games against Bayern?

I do think its got something to do with superpatch, but other games with Bayern were always working (i got them in my league), could be because this crashing is in championship league. Maybe a bug with aliance arean CL?

Ill try it with normal install when i got time.

Well new install didnt help with that save game so I realy dont have any idea what could the problem do.

Ok I just figured a working solution for this one!

Just go to General Setting in you master league and change entrance sceene to "no", game loads and it works like it should. If I leave it at yes and only for important matches it crashes. Also afther that crashing game I could set entrance to yes again and no crashing.

I'll try a few of these things - However, in an effort to console myself for the lack of master league, I started a Dutch league. No problems at all until a few games in when I play PSV away - again it crashes. I don't think it's to do with any particular stadium because I tried them in exhibition and so on, too.. Very confusing.

OK, anyone who has had a similar problem - setting your entrance scene to "No" does indeed solve this problem - so thanks to Fawe4.
