My ML is going okay so far, I won my last match so my record is now 1D, 1L and 1W.

I'll probably not buy anyone amazing mind just to keep it challenging, I'll opt for youngsters as usual, but moderate youngsters. Not the players who are clearly fantasy players either (Shimizu, Schwarz etc) as I almost feel like it's cheating to be honest as Konami creates them 'to be' amazing after a few years.

Yeah if you like. If you think about it, unless you're Fergie or Wenger no manager stays with the same club for 15 seasons. They want to move on and try for honors elsewhere.

It could work something like, I'm managing Leeds, I've been promoted to the Prem and won the FA cup in my first season (for example). And a team like Everton or Villa think I would be a good choice to manage that team and they make you an offer. You basically work up a reputation. If you have a bad season and you get the sack you then have to manage a slightly lesser team and try and regain your rep. You could be a manager who has won a lot of trophies, so the FA ask you to manage the England team. That sort of thing. It's a mangerial career where you win as many trophies as you can.

I'm not saying you should be able to switch teams at the end of every season, it should be more circumstantial.

Im playing in the English premier after starting with the defaults im in 2014-15 . Currently 4th in march in CL qt final, won the uefa cup last season.

Just signed a Japanes CF Yado or something 20yo looks good and a 6ft4 striker like Kevin Davies but a better finisher hes called Bergkamp lol.

I highly recommend Alen Kardec CF from Benfica hes a goal machine fast strong good header and a free kick expert . Sold him for $75 million ge was 97 overall. I was worried I was turning into a one man team :D

Quick question, directed at bigberry really but anyone can answer!

In your first season on ML with the default teams did you feel it was hard? And where did you finnish towards the end? And what difficulty did you play on?

I'm playing on Top Player with the default Konami players (Minanda etc). I'm only about 7 games deep into my ML in the NPower Championship but it's proving relatively tough so far. Maybe it's because Division 2 is quite a good level with the NPower Championship teams? I'm currently about 15th out of 20, or 14th out of 18, whatever the maximum number of teams is.

I love a good old tussle in trying to succeed in the ML though so the more difficult the better in my opinion. I didn't buy anyone at the start of the season either, nor did I promote any of my youth team since it's almost cheating in my view (since when do you have youth team players with stats of 81 etc?).

Anyway, a few matches ago I was away to Sheffield United and losing 2-1 with the first goal I conceded a ridiculous own goal - the ball was close to the line and about knee height and instead of my defender swinging his leg to clear it, he decided it'd be best to go for a diving header and try to flick it over the bar = fail. Moving on... I bring on Minanda to utilise his experience (I've been playing Ettori a lot to try and develop him) and I win a corner with just seconds remaining. Minanda whips it in and my goalkeeper Ivarov leaps like a jack in the box and heads home in off the post to level the match 2-2. I couldn't believe it, it was so Schmeichel-esque that I was in awe. I can't remember ever scoring with the goalkeeper during a corner, so obviously I saved the replay. Definitely one of the highlights of my short ML career so far, along with beating Blackpool in the FA Cup on penalties to progress to the next round - I now have Hull next in the Cup.

My low point though has to have been when Middlesbrough wiped the floor with me 3-0 though. They just carved my defence so much, it was like my defence was parting so wide allowing these through balls just trickle through. My discipline that match wasn't very good to say the least.

@Daveyf9 As soon as I got an option file sorted I went straight to ML I started on regular as I was still learning and struggling for goals .
It wasnt that hard just scoring enough was my problem. I might have been 3rd due to 0-0 draws lol.

Im at pro at the moment putting it to top player at end of the season.

Just had an epic CL QT Final vs Chelsea their team is amazing Buffon, Marcelo, Vargas, Lavezzi, Aguero, Wilshere etc amazing team anyway.. I was 1 up and they got a jammy og for 1-1 about 78mins they stole it about 85mins after crossing and a volley , 2 chances 2 goals. Gutted.

2nd leg away I go down 1-0 early so I need 2 goals for extratime , Bamba taps in after a corner for 1-1 , then second half scores again a header from a corner (he scored 1st leg og) .

So extratime I throw my 6ft 4 CF on and he finishes neatly early and I hang on for a 4-3 aggregate win . Delighted.

It is happening again
I went a bit transfer mad with my Bolton team this season. Sold Iarmolenko for £49,000,000, then bought Douglas Costa, Marko Marin and Moussa Dembele, all for quite a bit of money.

Is it me or have they gone over the top with the transfer fees? Iarmolenk was only rated 81, plus I tried to get Gignac and Candreva, both rated about 86 and was asked for £45,000,000+ for each of them!! Bloody ludicrous!

I'm hoping to maintain as many of my original players as possible just to see how much potential they can fulfil, especially Ettori as he's my pride and joy - and Gutierrez.

I will sign both a right and left sided midfielder in the mid-season transfer window though since Espimas and Ximelez won't be lasting much longer (even though I'm in my first season). I will obviously opt for young, modest wingers though, probably under the age of 20 and below 70 in overall stat just so I have some players to develop.

Schwarz is simply amazing. 90 Overall, still growing.

Im SO sad :(.
Well I was on my third season with ajax on ML and I had a really good team and was ranked 9th in the world.
Then we decided to sign Higuain for a soLid young striker up front.
I went for a toilet break and told my friend who was sitting beside me to simulate the next match.
So when I came back my friend told me that he had signed Higuain.
I was all happy and jolly for a moment until he told me how much he has signed him for... 89 million Euros....
I only had 110 million Euros in my budget anyway and I had stars Like nani Wallcot and Ronaldo to renew their contract...
So It came to september and I only had around 20 Mil left and the players wanted a contract renewal.
I tried to but I didnt succeed and they aLL left my team other than Higuain , And Tello (81 overall age 19 solid winger)
Now I really dont know what to Do and I am so pissed off :((

Damn arda, that really sucks.. I've been there before, had to sell 2 players because I didn't have enough cash to renew salaries, but not with players like that... Damn, that had to suck ..

Well, and as for me, I'm doing bad this season, I don't know why. 8th place.. Well, it barely started, so I'll still climb up.

I bought Kroos for loan this season, didn't try him yet (I signed him injured, didn't even notice :realmad:). But he will be good again in 3 weeks. Is he any good? I've heard nice comments about him.

Oh, and Veron is doing good so far, but the problem is, he keeps doing sliding tackles by himself too much, already got 2 red cards this season.. (in 6 matches..). But I'll keep him, he seems to be developing like crazy, he's at 88 overall :laugh:

I am doing well with Tottenham. I got comfortably into the top four halfway through my first season in a top six of United, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, City and myself.

However, I have now gone on a run of 9 games without a win and also been dumped out in the last 8 of the cup.

I think I will make the knockout stages of the CL but really need to start winning again.
