It's an existing cam, I mean the english translation, which is keeper 1, the closest vertical one, I think it called End cam in PES.

By the way, I just finish a few more league games, and I would highly recommand anyone just at least give it a try, a few games in 4*.

The cam you named doesn`t exist even in PES/WE.

- Default Close
- Default Normal - Intermediate
- Default Normal - Long (The one I`m using at 9th tilt)
- Zoom
- TV
- TV2
- TV3
and the rest.

I found the problem with is that sometimes when u start a new match, the game probably set it to the defaut direction, which is the normal cam, so it horinzontal.

But whenever this happens, I change the cam to any other first, and then change back to "Keeper" cam, the map automaticly switch back to vertical direction. Cos without the radar, it's impossible to make first time passes.

Go back to the benefit of the reconfigurated cam, compare to the earlier versions, is it now has a lower angle, i.e. closer to the ground, enough to give deeper field of vision. You spot the runs in front of you, and see the goal when u are just outside the box. When making long passes, I use the radar to locate teammates, so u have to be presides about power u hit the ball, which is also kind of like when you are playing football. There's much more to it.

I read an interview of the creator a month or so ago, in which he said the ultimate goal of his, is to make each gamer control only one player. So online play probably will be the next big thing in WE series.

u can already play with just one player !

Hey peoplzzz,

I've finally got the game yesterday. Had to drive to the middle of nowhere to have my PS2 chipped but okay..

I've played only five games till now (duty calls), so here come my impressions (only gameplay and graphics because I haven't played enough and that damned Japanees is very hard):

Graphics:

The game looks better and sharper then WE7/PES3, it's almost like you are playing fifa (with better animations and player faces) with the controls of WE/PES. The game really looks good, with the beautiful replays as the top of the pops... Only thing I really noticed is that some of the kits look kinda blurry to me, not really sharp. But I can life with it.

Gameplay:

After everything I read here, I was a bit afraid to be dissapointed by the game. Well I am absolutely NOT!!!!! Yes, I think the shooting is harder, but way better. Shooting on goal from a distance is good but very hard. One-on-one with the goaly is harder too, but it is possible on 5* also. You don't have to lob the ball of feint the goalie. The passing has improved as far as I can see right now. I love the way you can pass the ball to the player further away by pressing the butten a bit longer.. That's a great improvement over WE7/PES3. Free kicks are still hard, but seem easier than in PES3 to me. The AI of the computer is good, but still not flawless. My teammates occasionally leave a lot of space between the lines and sometimes my wingdefenders just go and walkaway from the place were they were supposed to be looking for some flowers or something.. I love the animations now, the way the goallie lies on his knees when to ball nearly goes in the goal. The dribbeling is better now, and it feel more realistic to me now... I have a bit slowdown during corners and when the box if full, but it is VERY minor and it doesn't affect the gameplay. I never felt like because of the slowdown I didn't score or my player didn't do what I wanted due to the slowdown.

This is all for now, to little matches played, so maybe later there will be things that will start to irritate me but it will never become bigger than all the great improvements and gameplay. So I say, the game rocks....

Please post in here ONLY if you have played the game
GOT the japenese version and i can honestly say its the best football game ive eva played! more realistic. No longer will A slow defneder (like amoruso) be able to catch up fast players like henry! the goalkeepers are much better. the passes are more acurate. the overall gameplay is a bit slower because they have focused more on the technical side of the game. i am still trying to work out how to do the new tricks! A MUST BUY

Hope we are playing the same game here! I've with diggi here...

I don't mean to continue to argue about the "cam" thing.

But there are total of eleven cams in WE8:

Normal 1,2,3
Wide
TV 1,2,3
Zoom
and Keeper 1,2,3

(in that order)

For me the shooting is excellent in WE8... It's more realistic now, as you can curl a short range shot now. From distance the shooting looks way more realistic, then WE7/PES3 (never played WE7IJ). I have big trouble with the gameplay as it is a bit slower than in PES3. Not that it is bad, I think it is more realistic, but I have to stop playing it like it's PES3. Things that used to work in PES3 don't work in this one. In PES3 I crushed my mates everysingle time and I lost maybe 5 games tops.... In WE8 I can't beat them easy and I lost more games in 2 days than in a year of PES3. Man, it is a brilliant game, but it is very different from the prequels. I think the ball handeling and the dribbling has really changed in this one, and it's giving me a hard time. I'm playing 4* right now but I'm losing most of my games. Well I only got the game for 2 dayso, so I think I am going back on 3* to practice a bit more..... I feel a bit like a Fifa player trying to get used to WE8. It's hard but when I get there, I know this beauty will beat WE7/PES3 big time......

took the words right out of my mouth cyrax
also i think the defenders seem to wonder of leaving massive spaces at the back
it is kind of slow as well which is annoying and its harder to take shots
i prefer if it was fast like pro 3...i know ita more realistic cos its slowed down but if u made a football game which plays identical to real life play then the matches would be boring woudnt they......with a computer game u want it to be fast.....not too fast but definetly not slow

Well, I agree with you on the fact that the defenders sometimes seem to feel the need to walk away and do something else. But I don't think it is annoying that the gameplay has slowed down. I said it was a good thing, because it makes the game more realistic and that is what WE/PES is all about, getting as close to reality as possible. It's more difficult now, but people shouldn't try to play the game like it is WE7/PES3 because you just can't. So overall this game is to me better than WE7/PES3 and one step closer to be (unreachable) perfect.

Its too easy to beat the GK's from long range. I've scored about a dozen times from outside 40 yards and the GK's just watch the ball go in.

the offside annimation is cool!!
here's the story:
Giggs was crossing the ball then CR scored.. right after that.. he was suprised to see his goal was disallowed..

the new type of clearence is cool too! a player chest the ball and he did a volley

LOL...Ronaldo did the same Un-nicked!!

My impression is the same for defending...much harder...always a huge gap in the middle of my CBs....and a through pass dismantles them!

I am surely playing some beta version or I just don't understand. Shots and headers are awful!!! Shots are very weak even with the best players. Almost every header goes high. Even the CPU shoots and heads terrible so it's not only my fault. I played on 5 stars and it's not so hard to beat the CPU. On 6 stars it's realy chalenging but the CPU's got big problem with weak shots and headers so he is almost unable to score. The slowdown of course is big dissapointment

Unfortunately, my early impressions of WE8 are that is very hit and miss. Some good improvements, but the game is ruined by silly little mistakes such as too many players regularly passing with the outside of their boot, which is totally unrealistic, and the major slowdown problem if there's more than a couple of players in the penalty area. These two issues, along with the fact it still feels too easy even on six stars, have put me off playing the game entirely. Lets just hope PES4 improves on this.
