Signing players!!!!!!

Is anyone else finding this INCREDIBLY hard????

This is in master league and im playing on Top Player

Master league difficulty is set to 'Normal'

and transfer frequency is set to 'Low'

Im playing as a Man City side who have just got into the 1st division, won the D2 cup, won the D2 league....

I cannot seem to get anyone at all.

The last player i tried to buy was Wilshere from arsenal.

I offered Arsenal 30,000 transfer points, and i offered him 1500 wage for a period of five years....and still it was rejected!! He's 16 years old for fucks sake!!

Anyone got any tips??

Whats the point of playing master league if you cant even buy youngsters?!

But i even changed the master league difficulty to very easy (during the negotiation period) and still nothing!

I really dont want to start the game on a shit difficulty....but i might have to, because this is really annoying me!

what is ur teams popularity level (..B,A,S) the more popular ur team the easier it will be for u to get good players.. try to give him only one year period... my team is S rank which is the highest but still i can't get messi even when i offered them 60000 (the hightest amount u can offer) + one of my players... PES 2009 is really great... thank u KONAMI :realmad:

The popularity is on B!! So surely it shouldnt be hard to get 16 year olds, who no-one has ever heard of!!

does giving the players like 1 and 2 year contracts make them easier to sign??

Ah ok. You could make the transfers high but then you have players moving all over. I did hear it is harder to sign players this year.

I do agree that's really hard signing players. I usually use the method: increase the yearly salary and decrease the period of contract (if the generated year is 4 or 5, down it to 2 or 3). My settings are just the same as you: Top player ML, Normal ML difficulty and Low transfer frequency. Remember that even when you suggest a lot of money in one negotiation, that could be broke down, I think the percentage of failure is more than 20%. In your case, the problem is that player is already in a team (Arsenal), so this is quite difficult, you should look at the percentage of acquirement in the scout list to make sure it is not 0% or not too low! Most of my youngsters were not in any team when I offered them, and they all had more than 60% chance to buy.

I started ML with an infamous team, played 10 min or even 15 min match to get high score, this helps increasing the point. One year after, I had enough points to get 1-2 good young players. And the dream began...

You have to have an S popularity in order for negotiations to succeed. Ten offer at least 40,000 for a class player and he'll accept.

Ok the negotiation system in this game is fucking bullshit. I'm playing Professional difficulty with ML difficulty Very Easy and Transfer Frequency Low.

I'm playing Man U and I was in D2 with a popularity of C. In the first mid-season negotiation period, I offered something like 24,000 points + Giggs for Messi and they accepted and I managed to sign Messi for 5 years on 1,900 salary.

Now, in the off-season, I've been promoted to D1 and have a popularity of A. I'm trying to sign the keeper, Diego, and I keep getting rejected. He's worth about 6,500 points and I offer Foster (6,000 points) + some points and they keep rejecting me. I've tried offering 1,000 to 20,000 points on top of Foster and I keep getting rejected. WTF is this.

*Quick tip for you ElyrionX, keep Foster*

I play on Top Player too and my negotiation difficulty is set to easy. Buying more than 2 players in the same week is also hard too.
-Try lowering your standards, go for an Aston Villa player or a Wigan Athletic 1.
-Add the player you want onto your scout list, this way you can see the what popularity the player is and the percentage success rate.
-Loan players in instead of buying.
-Lower the amount of years the contract runs for. I offered Benzima 33,000 points and a wage of 1750 over 5 years and he wouldn't come. Offered him the same but for 3 years and he came.
-Also not sure how true this is, but if you have say 5 SS and you're trying to sign another SS he more than likely to decline your offer. I at 1 stage had 6 CF & 3 SS and I couldn't sign Obinna, after I sold/released my dead wood strikers he eventually came too.

Well, I was looking at Foster's development curve and it's even lower than Kuczak's, so what's the point of keeping him?

And in this case, it's not that the player refuses to join me, the club simply refuses to accept my bids.

I've even managed to sign Benzema on a 5-year 1,400 salary contract
just by offering Berbatov + 4,000 points.

Transfer also depend on weather the player want to play on your team. On the scoout list there is the switch from salary, growth rate and weather if he want to play for your team. I mean I couldn't sign players who don't even have a club while it is really easy to sign new comers who have two stars.

Can't say I looked at Fosters development sheet to be honest. I just go on game play, Foster seems to play a lot better than Kuszczak. Up to you. There is another keeper who seems to be really good on mine, young too. Plays for the Villa in mine but can't remember his damn name....... Tried signing him every season but he or the club won't have any of it.

The majority of my unsuccesful transfer negotiations have ben declined by the player and not the club.

Good deal for Benzima though. I found Berbatov to be pretty poor in this game, well unless you play against him.

well im manutd and atm im not really singing players but i know how hard it is cause i can only realy trade players or buy free agents and loans but what i would do is see the players u want and add them to the scout list and every few weeks they will give u a report on the player and tell u if he is happy and is he playing a lot and there is a percentacge number buy the players name and the higher it is the more likely u will sign him i think but i am waiting for some players to retire before i start to do some buying
