I'm 33 and I love the veteran's league idea, I'm in, but I only have one evening a week to play. Yes, my wife is a tough one :)

So you can meet me on Tuesday (Creeper75)
Do you guys play PC or PS2 ?

Sensible Soccer! you having a laugh Kick Off was far better on the Amiga. I remember having big arguments in school about which game was the best when in truth the two were very similar. The magic swerve shot was unstoppable from distance. I also remember playing Microprose Soccer too on the Amstrad CPC464 with a massive 128k of computing power!! Eat that Speccys. Ha Ha

now don't blame me for this but you know you can get most of those old games + emulator software for free off the web. I was playing kickoff 2+ the final whistle just the other day....still packs lots of gameplay. oh yes and was definitely better than sensible (tho' that was good too!)

I used to play football manager on the ZX spectrum for hours, well untill you knocked the power lead and it re-set itself anyway...

I'm in the Sensible camp on that one. I'm 30, and my wife goes mental over PES: "It's a waste of time". Online handle is GDR and fully up for a game.
If you really want to wind them up give the playstation a woman's name.

Just wanted to give credit to the guyz with the classy names -'MUMPLEASER' and 'BACKDOOR'... quality!!!

Glad to hear there are 30+ year old's playing PES5, I'm due to emmigrate early next year and don't know how I'm going to live without playing PES5 as much as I do now.

I'm 25 and don't really want to do anything else in life apart from play PES5... that's how addictive it is.

Would I be making an overstatement if I said playing PES5 is better than sex????????????????

I'd be up for a little Vet league action why not.

Any of you guys remember kickoff2 on the amiga? Me and the boys played it for around 6 years straight.:(

The young ones do not appreciate the many steps that it has taken to get to the level of PES5, I remember chatting with my mates whilst setting up another season in Emlyn Hughes' (Atari ST) football how good it would be if each player had their own colour, abilities, size and even commentry; and now look we have all these and more, my first football love International Soccer C64 you was playing with blocks that seemingly played on ice has they skated across the pitch, but still quality games

My path to PES5

International Soccer (C64)
Match Day II (with Bombay MIx) (C64)
Emlyn Hughes' Football (C64)
Emlyn Hughes' Football (ST)
Microsoft Soccer 6 (I think it was called this) (console)
Kick Off (Amiga)
Player MAnager (Amiga)
SWOS (Amiga)
Kick Off II (ST)
Striker (ST)
Wembley International Soccer (Amiga)
Fifa 96-90 (PC)
Actua Soccer 1&2 (PC)
PES1 - PES3 (PS2)
WE8 - WE9 (PS2)
PES5

I think that covers it, I am not going to even start on management, but I suppose it kept me off the streets!!!

I will have to come up with a name for my PS2. I can tell the wife I have to go and spend some time with 'Suzie' as she is feeling lonley! Classic.

PE5 better than sex????? Lets not get too carried away here!!!!!!

My name of Backdoor all stems back to my time at uni and a sexual harrassment charge I was brought up on at work once! Its not as bad as it sounds but the boys loved ripping me for it!

Here´s one for the old boys club and qualified for 35+ age group, married, two kids... I have actually been quite lucky to have some nice people online, very few abusers there.

When "veteran" players set up a match room, maybe we could put a code like OBC or LEG or something like a secrect handshake of a secret society?

I have been a bit frustrated at times with the quality of connection. Although it should be same for the both of players, I still do have a hard time to defend at times and give away easy one or two goals, with opponents passing ball inside the box easily, which does not usually happen, when playing a "normal" one-to-one. I have had some tough time to adapt to "lag style" of play. I even dominate quite a few games having more shots and still lose 1-3 or something. Are everyone happy with online game or is it just an old guy whining about inadequasies? (Yes, I am asking for trouble ;-))
