Kubi_KZ - I agree with points 2 and 6, however, lets not completely copy Fifa, how about rating teams out of a hundred? So your likes of Barca, Real, Inter, Milan and Chelsea being in the 90s, then Arsenal, Man U, Valencia, Juve etc being in the 80s... and so on.

There must be some way of stopping people playing stupid formations too. People do it on Fifa, but its worse on that game. Also they should get rid of the condition arrows online. In 3 of my past 4 games ive had my best striker on downwards purple arrow - Rooney (England vs Germany), Fabiano (Sevilla vs Milan), Zamora (Fulham vs Porto). When youre a team like Sevilla, and your main striker is on purple, and the only replacement (ie Negredo) is on blue, its very annoying.
Another thing that annoys me is the constant long through balls that people play to the wingers all... the... time!

Another couple of points. Sometimes i get a message saying that due to restrictions with my connection, i can only play 1 vs 1. Is there any way around this?

Last point.. unrelated but didn't want to start a new thread - i got my long ranger trophy the other day, but i didn't actually score from long range. According to my stats, my longest goal was from 37m. This never actually happened! Unless it was a delayed trophy from when i scored a free kick against my brother... but i dont think that was from over 35m, and i dont think you can get trophies in player vs player can you?

Get yourself a Virgin Media connection. This will give you a constant connection, plu your modem can be installed next to your console so no more laggy wireless.

Back to the point of people picking the same teams. Surley this is an advertisment for MLO. I'm a Boro fan sadly no longer to play as Teeside on PES and thanks to Gordan Strachan unlikely to do so for many years. But ranting aside MLO has allowed me to replace PES United with Middlesbrough. They play in the correct kit with the offical emblem and I can sign who I want.

I don't have the strongest side but I went out of my way to sign Downing and Tuncay who are my best 2 players and likely to never leave my squad. A Bolton fan could easily sign some Bolton players ... maybe not the whole team. I have also see on guy with a large number of Ghana players in his side.

I was with BT before O2 and much prefer the latter, but for this PES thing. Cant convince myself to buy a new router just for Pro Evo, but its probably the only way out - O2 have offered no real help with this, nobody on any forums knows anything, didnt even get a reply from Nokami (love them to bits, but their marketing and customer service is pretty bad)...

I would suggest you make or join an online community the games are much better once you play with ppl you know won't cheat. Plus I find that in our US community the ppl playing in it dont lag, we had great games throughout the year of PES2010 with many tournaments and 2vs2 etc. I would suggest that you join a community where everyone playes wired and not wireless, helps a lot !

thats what I do, I pick Sampdoria or Palermo then if they stick to Real or Barca I use Inter and wreck them. Sometmies I stick to Sampdoria and actually get some good results playing defensive counter attack.

Complaining about this is like complaining about the noob tube, commando or danger close on COD, the developers will NOT change it.

You need to remember the deveoper/ producer wants to make money and do not really care about the HARDCORE fans (as we will buy the game regardless), all they want is the casual gamer to buy their product and to make money off of them.

So to ask for restricting BIGGER teams is a no no cause that will cause the casual fan to go else where

So if there was a limit of... say 850 (combined team ratings over 10 matches), I think this would work. If you were to go over this limit, ranking points could be docked. This means, in theory, that you could pick a big team (rated 90) 7/10 times, then 3 teams rated about 70 overall. That seems fair to me. Oooh, more points could be awarded the more you are under the limit. Like i said, its a bit complicated for some, but its just an idea.

Also the whole noob tube thing in COD reaaaaallly annoyed me so much that i stopped playing completely. PES hasn't had this effect....yet.

Well I just had my second online (friendly) match, and I thought I'd post my findings here - as I was pleasantly surprised!

My first match was matchmaked against some guy from Greece playing Real Madrid. Predictable. Even though the connection was terrible (and it lost connection altogether soon into the first half), he wasnt that hard to beat. Or maybe that was the lag talking.

Anyway, so I just had my second match and much to my surprise, I found an Aussie in the Asia server. I usually check the Asia server as a) it's populated when Europe is asleep, and b) I'm more likely to run into a fellow Aussie (by the way, any other Aussies who play online, shout me a PM and we'll see about adding each other ingame).

So I always play Liverpool (favourite team), and he went straight to Man United every time (his favourite team apparently). But I tell you, when there isnt any lag and the opposition is decent, the game is fun! We both played pretty well, attempting through balls down the middle (and down the channels, in my case) and crossing from the wing, unlike the usual "run down the wing with Ronaldo/Messi, cross and score" tactic.

I beat him 3-0 the first match, thanks to a flukey volley in the box and a brilliant chipped through ball over his defensive line. Second match we drew 2-2, since I did a long back pass from a throw in in my half (stupid I know, but he had his striker harrassing me up short) and he got to it first, and volleyed it up and above Reina and into the top corner. Magic! But thats what we love about PES

Anyway, going on a bit now, but like I said if theres any fellow Aussies, hit me up! Not trying to sound racist, but most Asian's I played in the Asia server (in 2010 at least) just attempted exploits with Madrid/Ronaldo every match =\

EDIT: Actually a quick question, do edited kits/club names appear to the opponent online? It obviously shows up as the proper Liverpool kit for me, but does the opponent see that or "Merseyside Red" and the sh*tty brown coloured kit?

auto tackle is still there, even if there is an option to turn it off
goalies are still rubbish
player switch still rubbish
no free camera angle on replays
full backs still are always out of position even with the slider low

but oh yeah they brought back the hexagon

is it just me or when someone goes straight to barca real inter AC, they are usually quite crap but the ones who go for arsenal geno napoli or other ranked teams usually good ??

Im starting to think like that...

I mean its not related in terms of player skills but in MLO if you look up and down the thousands of team id say a good 90% of them are Inter/Barca/Madrid or Man U which is really boring, personally I am playing Ramsgate FC (go Ramsgate!!) is most amusing beating Inter with Ramsgate :shocking:

Further to the OP though I also have noticed the ridiculous formations, tbh its made me reconsider playing online, it ends up feeling more like a game of exploits than actual football which is sad, cause when you play someone who loves football (props to the German who stuffed me 4-0) its really good even when you lose. There should be a Knobometer which relegates unrealistic formations to playing each other until they sort out their stupid bug exploiting tactics.

I always wait to see who the other user goes before picking my team. If someone goes Real or Barca etc I will always go a team similar just to beat them as best I can. I respect users that go the smaller teams, as their just up for a game of football and not to totally rape the online world. I prefer going smaller teams as well, as its a great way to show your true ability in PES. Also the players online are so arrogant and never say thanks for the game or a simple well played! Also when they score a simple tap in they watch the replay over and over again and press the chat thing and just press all the buttons so it keeps coming up on screen, just to piss you off.

When I see my opponent choose Barca, Real etc. I frown upon them, they're souless cunts. Most of them lack ability which infuriates me because their whole playing style depends on 1 player. I prefer to use my whole team and win with beautiful, innovative football.

danzine - Yes, I've noticed that often those who go straight to the big teams, aren not very good players. However they can get around this by sticking their players really far forward and constantly throw through balls down the wings. I had one guy who played long ball with Barca. Yes... long ball.... WITH BARCA. I had another player who only passed the ball once or twice with Messi throughout the whole of the match. I was able to defend against his constant dribbling on most occasions, but got a bit lucy not to concede on a couple of others.

Decka - I'm not sure whether Liverpool would show up as Merseyside Red on someone else's console. I imagine it would depend on their option file though. Don't know if anyone has any clarification on that. I wish edited appearances would show up online. I've changed a few of the Bolton players hair - Petrov, M. Davies, Elmander, Holden, Klasnic, but the default hair is shown online. On this point, are Konami just taking the **** out of Stephen Ireland? He's been bald for ages yet they keep giving him hair... reminding him of better times :happy:

But seriously. I always wait to see what teams folk pick too. Shame nobody pays me the same compliment. If they pick a big team i'll try and get them to chose a smaller one. One guy changed to Bordeaux yesterday, I went to Monaco because of long-time PES legend Park Chu-Young. Twas a decent enough match. Sent him msg after, congratulating him for moving to a smaller side. Back to the after-goal taunts thing, I agree, its very annoying. What's even more annoying is when they watch all the replays, even if it's an average goal. I'll watch one replay if i score a good goal. I'll taunt the other person if they've taunted me, or if they've played in a nooby way, as mentioned in other posts. I will say "That was lucky!" if it WAS lucky, and I will say "Yes!" if I score a late winner or something, but I never gloat unless Ive been gloated towards.

PaddyBhoy - I like to play nice football too. It's much more enjoyable if you vary your play a bit. Sometimes I play a few lofted balls if I have a big forward. I never abuse tactics like some, I'm like that in all games, which is why I get so annoyed at online gaming and tend to shy away from it.

Be glad of one thing - Fifa players are worse!
To all those who say they don't play online because of the idiots, get yourself online! Would make it a better place!

Here is a shortlist of matured solutions against big teams monopoly online.

They were originally suggested in my poll here. Click on the description to see further details of the solution.

1 - Levelling all player stats for ranked matches. (credit to steviegags and willmo)

2 - The stronger your team is, in relation to the opposition team, the less ranking points you receive. (credit to douglas93)

3 - Free market system.

4 - A happy hour system.

5 - Option to limit teams to those only as strong as the host's, or less.

6 - Rating teams as 1 star to 5 stars, and creating rooms to restrict to X-star teams.

7 - The only way to exceed a rating of 600 (or any number Konami sees fit) is by choosing non-top tier teams (credit to Decryptus)

For example Ali could you and Nath not play Bolton v Stoke? I will be on X-box Live next week and will play you as Spurs if you are on 360.

EDIT: I've just noticed your profile says PS3 so never mind. Still, are there no other PS3 players on here who support one of the lesser superstar teams and use them on-line?
