Overall I'm Dissaponited wit PES 5!!

And heres why:

* The crowd glitch is a step back from PES 4. No argument there surely?

* The now proclamied weather glitch is a massive set back from PES 4. It has been now confirmed (on another site by Konami that they forgot to include the various weather conditions for ML). Ever noticed the weather is always fine in ML? ... Well that's why, and I don't reckon thats good enough. In PES 4 I was a much worse player in the rain, could never string fluid passes together and my speed was nullified, which in turn would make me select a much different run on squad and formation. Now that's been taken away from me (and everyone else) in PES 5. NOT happy! Again you can't argue with that can you?

* The Attacking AI is pretty poor. Not enough goals from the COM in general play. The COM's defense and midfield build up are superb, but the attack and finishing is woeful. Not enough chances and definitely not clinical enough when they finally do break you down. And when I (the USER) have the ball, forwards are meant to run, and create space and chances. You can have Owen and Ronaldo up front and there's not much difference (off the ball I'm talking) then having Harewood and Aliadiere ... The forwards are stagnant and simply put; they do too much ball watching. I understand some people will agree and others disagree with that one.

* Passing and lobbed thru balls and lobbed balls should be about 30-40% more accurate than the current system. Too many go out or are easy fodder for the keeper. There should be more open spaces to break thru in, by players (forwards?) taking advantage of their pace and hitting holes. Again it falls back onto the attacking AI.

* General ML options and running. The management side of things hasn't been improved in year of working on PES. That's dissapointing. I'm playing ML, how hard would it be to have a cup within the ML where division one and two take part in it? Not Very, surely? Why does the COM never offer to loan my players? And why are loans so expensive to obtain from the COM, especially from stacked teams which will never ever get a chance to give the player any time on the pitch? Not a major issue, but if Konami can improve one area without too much effort, its the ML.

* And lastly the Crowd/ stadium atmosphere is appalling. Leading Divison 1 playing against number 2 and its the second last game of the season. The whole season will be decided in this one match and only a handful of people turn out to see the game? WTF?? Terrible effort Konami. In general theres no noise, atmosphere from the stands when something huge happens, let alone all the littler things in a game. Big big letdown.

In saying that. I DO love all the new animations, the pace of the game and the extra edit options. I think the fatigue is perfect. A lot of people complain about the fatigue, but I'm sure every player in real life doesn't go into every game 100%. I'm sure little niggly injuries and lack of stamina takes it toll. Maybe Konami should have more players rated higher in Stamina and condtioning, but the actual engine which guages stamina and fatigue is the most realistic in any sporting game on the market.

All in all the half done/ poorly done stuff outweighs the good for me, IMO!

I shouldn't forget the officiating either. The COM never recieves the same punsihments as me, even though some of their efforts are a lot worse.

I average 1 to 3 yellows per game, while the COM gets none, even though they (on average) commit 3-7 more fouls than me per game.

That's a little scripted IMO ...

Now that you have mentioned the weather thing in the Master League I have noticed it. Like you, I play worse in the rain and the games are tight.

That really is a joke to be honest

OK, I understand you're a little pissed off about the weather conditions in ML, attacking AI, etc...

But would you say your title for this thread, 'Overall I'm Dissaponited(*dissapointed*) wit(*with*) PES 5!!', is justified???

If you honestly believe the title you posted is justified you will be returning your game and demanding a full refund, right??? I think not.

Like you I think there is room for improvement, especially in regards to the attacking AI. But you can not say that you are "overall dissapointed" with this latest instalment.

PES5 is a supreme football sim and the best on the market. Unfortunately, like most things in life, it's not perfect and there is room for improvement.

PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEE just stfu moaning about tha game & PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE KOnami don't change the dribbling. It is much better cause you just don't get noobs who r crap at the game run straight from the kick off and score. They have made the dribbling harder to focus on passing and keeping the ball just like real football and I cant believe someone in a thread said the shooting is worst!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Have they curled 1 into the top corner from 25 yard with the r2 shot yet!! or hit a stevie gerrard trademark volley from the edge of the area. Ive had this game from release date and had we9 for 3 months. Ive well clocked the game now and enjoy it to the max. The tacklings better, shooting, crossing, build up,flicks and tricks, ,goalies, online play ect. Its all improved. You need to keep playing to figure the game out because its not a kids game like fifa that takes 10 mins to master, you can play this game for years ans still be finding things out and you are obvioulsly crap thats why u dont like the new pace of the game. If u play well the game does play fast Prbably cause ur all noobs who just play direct and just constantly run towards goal.Instead of wasting time on these forums slagging our beloved game off u should be practising the art of pes5.

Look peeps, I'm not saying this latest version is perfect - far from it, there is a lot of room for improvement - but don't go slagging the game off and then play it for hours on end. That just makes you hypocrites.

It's the most realistic game to the real thing out there to date.

No, the AI cheats and defensively is too strong. I watched four 6* COM v COM matches, and only one goal was scored in all of them (excluding penalties)! The goalies are still crap, if not worse than Pro Evo 4. They always hit the ball high up in the air or something stupid when they could easily catch it, I don't understand.

In my second season

:D ..and it hasn't rained or snowed yet... my league must be in perfect weathersville!.. :eek:hmy:
The crowd thing is appalling... like you said.. top of the table title decider and nobody around to watch it..
I agree with the ML management .. they could have put more of an effort in with this.. and the cup side.. its been sprited rather than the advertised revamped.. they've changed the colours but the layout and the game is basically the same.

I have to disagree with the overall disappointed though.. as i am not.. i know that i'll be playing this until konami's next release.. and its still worth the 27.99 i shelled out for it.. theres not many games i play on because of this game alone..
I love the new goalie and player animations.. some of the cut scenes as well add realism.. the other day i took a first time shot with about eleven seconds gone into a league match.. the goalie.. made a spectacular save and tipped it out for a corner.. the cut scene came on showing defenders rushing up to him and patting him on the back before the goalie was seen pushing them away and organizing/regrouping them for the resulting corner!

Another nice touch is the player photo screen on ML.. when you get a new player in on negotiations you can press x button to see what they look like.. further more.. when they retire it tells you how many games he's played and so on.. i just thought this was a nice touch..
Konami have turned the player development around too.. so players peak later on in their career meaning you dont just have to sign the next rooney or torres.. whatever.. and the mid season training where you can focus on a players weakness is great.. I'm looking forward to developing my pes team.. and spending time playing the game so overall i am not disappointed with the game.

 ..I wouldnt like to say i am disagreeing with the thread starter as you have made some valid points.. just adding my views on the game both from a positive and negative side.. and as stated konami do need to sort out some of their niggling issues as highlighted by you..

:( ..another person that resorts to insults after opinons.. its not like FIFA.. blah blah blah.. your crap .. blah blah blah.. this is a forum.. people can have opinions.. the poster/threadstarter was exercising his rights to hold a valid opinion on the game.. if nobody can hold an opinion on the forum whats the point in having either .. an opinion or a forum?

mate, that totally lost any credit most people will have for your oppinions. petty insults, why?? and what gives you the right to call everyone else a noob? i bet theres plenty of people on this forum who'll give you more than a run for your money at the game. just because you think your good at it doesnt mean you cant have criticisms of it.

i think the games great but things like the crowd and the master league weather are, in all honesty, a total joke. its little things that often makes games shine, and pro constantly fails to deliver with these. things like the commentary, the music, the presentation, the crowd, the weather. they seem to only make half a game every year (the better half admittedly, the gameplay) but if fifa can be accused of being all style no substance than surely pro is all substance no style, which is almost as bad in my oppinion.

dont get me wrong, pro is awesome, but its got so many little flaws that are so noticable that just ruin the experience of playing it a lot of the time.

PES5 is *so* much better than PES4 in terms of gameplay that it just seems a little silly to complain so much about its problems. Okay the crowd is missing when you're on the pitch. The announcing sucks.

I played PES4 yesterday again for the first time since WE9 came out, and I could not stand it. The game feels terrible now, and I honestly can't believe how much I used to like it. It feels like an arcade game; no-look-perfect-pass, no-look-perfect-pass, switch direction, switch direction, sidestep, switch direction, no-look-perfect-pass into box, score! It drives me nuts just how cynical you need to be in order to win at the game; it has no 'feel', formations barely matter, the gameplay is not organic and it's all about just repeating moves over and over in random-ish orders to mix up your marker. Controlling a defender? Best thing to do is rush up to the guy with the ball and try to take it right away from him, maybe make him 'stumble' or whatever. Standing in the way of a pass or shot does almost nothing. And because of this, longpassing is basically always foolish... you can just keep short passing to guys you can see right next to you and almost never lose possession if you're smart. The ball flies up the field ping ponging at 50 miles an hour as if neither team remembered to implement any sort of strategy whatsoever.

Anyway I kind of digress, PES5 has a few small issues but is so many lightyears ahead of PES4 in the gameplay department that being disappointed with it overall, to me, just shows how little you know about both games.
