Oh i wouldnt skip on 2013. Its not gonne be a graphics upgrade. But it looks like game play changed a lot. Heck with some luck 2013 migth be the best pes next gen.
And yes fox engine is looking amazing. Pes2014 will probebly be the first pes on the next next gen and already two years in production by then. Its good to see konami doesnt make the same mistake twice.
What do you mean when you say 'next, next gen' Do you mean the PS4 will be released by then?

I hope they don't change it too much pes 2012 is perfect, the last thing i want is it to turn shit with all that tactical defending bollocks that fifa has just as i had changed back to pes again.

From what i read its gonne be differend. And im not unhappy about that. But we have to play before we know.
All i know is the defending princeple stays the same, only now if you duddle press a or x you can do a tackle when you want. And there is manual shooting and the goalkeepers are redone

1 year isn't enough time to implement the system in PES - they started using it at the start of this year and it would take 2 or 3 years to fit the engine in and customize it etc.

Sup Abu,

Based on the video back in 2011, there was not much that could have been said or seen of the new "Fox Engine". As a matter of fact, the video he produced is grossly aged. Most of the video games today have superior quality to what was displayed. Furthermore he basically said nothing that would be of any interest to any developer today.

In terms of PES 2013, it appears (only speculating) that the improvements will be based on graphics. But of course we have to be mindful of what is said or read since based on the past promises of Konami and the Fish ...they always admit in the end that the game was not really what they were looking to produce....maybe next year.

So I will take every review and comments with a grain of salt.

As stated by most ...we will have to see how the finished game looks (not the demo) before we can get a true feel of the game. Konami's reputation is in the gutters right now.

For me, their company's new motto is "..Maybe next year".

There is no doubt in my mind that Fifa will murder these fools again this year. :w00t

Peace

Ockrass, for all I know, Pes 13 might turn out to be a bad game. Who knows. But the last part of your post

"There is no doubt in my mind that Fifa will murder these fools again this year."

Do not start a war here please. But do know this. You cannot replace trash with trash because in the end, you would still end up with trash.

Brilliantly put, as the improvements in FIFA are minimal with no big steps in AI, where FIFA lack

Gotta say I've watched the video and seen the pics for PES "2013" and its the same old dog sh*t, no where near enough improvement to justify another yearly £40. It's all about making the money, not about making the game as good and polished it can be before release anymore, but about churning out a boring repetitive liquid annual release to rake in the money.

The games are riddled with problems from day 1 and it really angers me that developers think it is perfectly fine to still go ahead and release a game, especially when they are aware of all the bugs and crap in the game before they release it, the fact that we end up seeing 4 or 5 patches, tells me the game shouldn't have been released in the first place.

This says it all.

Don't get me wrong, it's not just Konami, and Konami do more than most developers and seem to do just that little bit more in supporting there games yearly duration, but the games nowhere near improve enough ever year, to make me delve into my small pockets and rush to the shops.

FIFA is no different, both football games are going 1 step forward 1 step back. Blame it on the consoles and platforms all you want, but EA Sports and Konami can do more than this, considering the sort of money they are raking in and technology at there disposal.

I said years ago DLC would be the killer, and so far it is proving to be true. Especially when they stick a price onto it and focus more on DLC than the game it needs to play on in the first place.

But like I said, it's not just football games, its computer games in general today.

Todays games don't even deserve to eat of the same table as games made 6-or-so years ago on the PS2, it sounds ridiculous, buts its true. Todays games have no consistency, no balance, foundation or stability and its a crying shame.

If I was a millionaire, I might consider getting the games out of ignorance, but the fact that I'm in the same boat as millions of people, I won't be touching them.....unfortunately for the developers....but fortunately for me!

It's not just football games. Nearly all games now have these problems. Look at call of duty and Battlefield and Dirt and NFS and Madden, elder scrolls, Tekken - all these games get so much hate from their 'Fans' usually the fans still stay even though they 'hate' the game.

Developers have to rush a game out every year and it's simply not enough time to make a game in the current climate.

Many people also enjoy games, but people only talk about it when they want to complain, so you don't see the many people who are happy with games and don't see the problems. Also, they can't please everybody.

About games getting worse. I disagree to a point. To a point it is correct, but if you look at it from another angle, it's a different story. Back in the day, very games games came out in comparison to how many games emerge every year in today's times. So obviously we'll see more bad games than before. Than there's the matter of the internet and social stuff. People love to complain, and with these social sites getting stronger, you will obviously see more "hate" than before.

But with all that, many games have lost difficulty level or went the wrong way. COD lost it's way for example especially with MW3. However, there are still great games today.

Look at Diablo 3, Skyrim (which may be easy, but extremely enjoyable), Dark Souls (a hard but fair and skillful experience, which is an awesome game), WWE 12 (a great wrestling game that has bad points, but it's still very enjoyable and it's a big step up for the series), Red Dead Redemption (easily puts any previous GTA to shame in terms of story and feelings)... As you see, I mentioned a few games that came out recently (apart from RDR which was released in 2010) and yet they are still very good experiences.

Now for this year and 2013. I am sure that Hitman Absolution will be an awesome game.

I know it may be off topic, but I hate it when people complain that all games suck, when in reality there are good games around. Some may have lost the toughness, but they're still very enjoyable.

Completely agree with you shaun. I think ppl expect to much, we musnt forget it are video games. I remember playing boxing on atari seeing two hand a face and a nose you had to hit. Ppl always complain right away when they see one bad thing forgeting all the good thinks. Its like a trend these days tojust complain about it and it, its save cause its on the internet. And there a so many good games on the market and some games are bad yes but alot of themare good. And if you dont like games then maybe you dont like gaming all together and must find a new hobby. There are so many good games out there and so many many more to come

I did say that bud ;)

It's all computer games in general, the focus of developers are on the wrong things and to see what games are like now, compared to 6 years or so ago, its a total disaster.

Of course you'll get the gloss and the better graphics, those things are compulsory as the years go by, but the gameplay is still the fundamental thing that should be focused on drastically improving each year......and they're not. AT ALL. The focus is always on premium on disc (a total con) DLC, sales, and the next game (before its even out!)

The industry is a business now more than ever, developers made games because of the love, passion and ideas they had years ago, now its a polar opposite, they are made for the sake of it by sales people.

And that is the difference!

It's all about sales pitch and fancy trimmings.....but the games never lie and they are like water now, when they used to be must have bundles of exploration, escapism and fun.

I don't touch all those dungeons and dragon games. never have. Lardy di dar Skyrim, World of Wankraft, MMORPG fairytale nonsense.

Those games are aimed at a certain demographic, I don't fall into it, I'm more sport, action, racing, simulation myself.

I really don't get the whole, spend 5 days killing chickens in a field for XP to level up and get some sort of fancy sword to slay dragons. :D

Hitman is a game I DO like, but this new game Absolution, is NOT Hitman, Hitman to me is Hitman 2 Silent Assassin, Hitman Contracts....not Splinter Cell Conviction-Absolution. Which is what Absolution is, everything but THE Hitman. Even Blood Money pushed the boundaries, but I still class it as a Hitman game worthy of the Hitman name.

As for PES and FIFA, its about time they take 2 or 3 years of to REALLY improve the game.

You are clearly mislead when it comes to gaming or you don't know much at all. If you had said in a polite way that you don't enjoy RPG fantasy games, sure, it would be your opinion, but the way you're going on about things, proves my point. People love to hate while forgetting the good stuff. But what's irritating the most is when people assume something and say it's real. I can understand you not liking Skyrim like games though, don't get me wrong here. :)

Bla, bla, bla. I didn't hear that. Sorry to say, but you have abseloutely no idea about Absolution or you totally missed the point. A point which I won't care to explain here. Come to the Absolution thread because it's offtopic here or come to the Hitman forum. But man, seriously, I suggest you stop this negativity and actually start to see some positivity because it's all around you if you want to see it. ;)

For Pes and fifa I agree, because both need to come up with something good. But just because the games you like aren't good anymore, it doesn't mean that all the games are bad. I mentioned some that for me were extremely enjoyable. So go out, and get some good games. :)

If you're into sports and simulation, there are good games like Forza 4 for example.

Some people need to get there heads from out of the sand and wake up a little bit. ;)

Whenever this "conversation" arises it is always the case that people get highly offended by somebody speaking blunt about the state of computer games. It's like they go all defensive because people dare not say whats right about the industry. It means so much to them, almost like they are brainwashed by it at all, they will defend it to the death and attack those who speak out.

Also, if you actually READ what I said, there are SOME good points to todays games, but the BADS outweigh the goods FOR ME. For all kind of different reasons, reasons I've already provided. But the goods come in bits with todays games, divided, separate...and that's done on purpose to entice you into believing that the next game that comes along the conveyer belt, will fix all of those problems with the previous installment, rinse and repeat. Developers sell you an illusion. Almost like that episode of South Park where they play that stupid game chasing the horse, but they never catch it.

The fact of the matter is, games should have moved on so much over the last 6 years, GAMEPLAY wise with the new technology....and in all honesty, it hasn't, it's just go buggier and glitchier, but the gloss around the edges has moved along steadily.

Let's take PES 6 for instance, a complete football game, solid, does the job in all sorts of areas, was as good as it can be from day 1 on release. Compare that to PES 2012.....how many patches have there been again?

It's happened with so many games, not just PES.

But some of you will be so blind and captivated by it all, you will basically bend over, pull your trousers down and let these game developers do what they want.....and guess what?.....you'll pay for that to!....and the extras afterwards... (DLC)

I guess having played games for as long as I have, once you reach that, you might see it all the same as me, because believe it or not, I was like you once, I could see no wrong.

....and now I weigh up all the options and variables before spending cash on these computer games.

Wake up. It's embarrassing.

We provided a list of very good games and yet you still come here and say the same things? There's something wrong there. It isn't us, that misread you. It is you that keeps misjudging the situation my friend.

Yes, I agreed with you that many games should have moved on but failed to do so. Pes and Fifa are perfect exmaples of this. But those alone are a tiny particle compared to how many games are out there. That's my point. Just because the games you know of are failing, it doesn't mean that every game is doing so. Myself and the poster above provided a list of some excellent games. You may not like them, but you cannot keep saying that the gaming industry is failing just because the games you like are not moving forward.

I have been playing games since the very early 90's. So that's almost 20 years. Yeah I started gaming at 4-5. So I can call myself an experienced gamer too and I can see a bad game from a good one. You know how many games I get every year? 3. Only 3 or 4. Yeah, that's how picky I am. So when I say that a game is good,, for me, it is good for those who like those kind of games. ;)

Sorry but that is just retarded. So thats gonne be your anwser whenever someone doesnt agree with you. Maybe you take it all alittle to seriously. I couldnt care less if you think there are only bad games or more bad things in games then good. Looks like you gonne save alot of money.

I am not starting any war here Shaun....i am just stating the facts.
Fifa will murder Konami again this year because Fifa is the best footie game on any platform today....period!

I know you don't like seeing that written anywhere...and will go to no ends to smear EA's name. You see Shaun my friend...wars are usually between at least two parties.

Maybe you should not start a war trying to pass those "stupid, idiotic, chase the goats and chickens win a sword" games such as Skyrim and Dark Souls on people. If you like them ...keep it to yourself! Not everyone does.

The question is Shaun.....who decides if a game is good or bad?
When you find the answer to that question ....you will find peace within yourself and maybe ...just maybe... start playing Fifa again.

By the way...if you only purchase 3 to 4 games a year....who are you to tell others what games are good or bad or if the gaming industry is doing good or bad. Leave it to people like me who owns 80% of the games that are released yearly.

One more thing Shaun ........FIFA 13! :D

 god damn you hate fifa ....
