Has anyone been given a penalty? I heard Seabass say that they would change the style of taking penalties..

Well I had a penalty.. And there's no penalty camera at the moment. So I kicked it with the wide angle cam..I don't know if it's temporary

Thank you m8. So there wasn't any kind of shooting bar or direction-arrow or anything fancy? :)

Hello everyone....downloaded it on pc,playing on high graphics
i must say im pleased, this years Pes is different and it will take time to get use to it....here are my goods and bads:

GOOD
-the "blast" shooting is back, the feeling from older PES when you have space with a strong striker like gerrard and pump that shooting bar, uncathable for the goalkeeper
-about 360,you cant see it much in moving and dribling as much as you can in passing....its now much better when you wish to pass between 2 players and i've seen some nice actions thanks to that

-lob shot, 100% improved....remember that usseles lob when you press R1 just after the shot and the player flicks the ball just a little bit....it never worked for me before, but now it makes sence...we'll be seeing allot lowely goals

-crossing...they now rarely hit the oposite corner flag when you want to find someone in the box from the wing

-GOALKEEPER'S GLOVES...finally they dont look like construction workers

BADS:
- feints! if you're used to that old trick of SHOOT+PASS to get past opponents forget it, it became slow and usseles (maybe its a good thing now we will have to find new ways)
- response is slow, but i've heard from Adam on WENB that its fixed on the new code so its ok

all in all, i'm very happy with it, cant wait to try BAL ML other teams...its gonna be a nice year

So far I've read mixed reactions. Just like when fifa 10 demo hit the stores.
I hope PSN updates soon.

Ok
ive played 3 games
scored 6 goals 2 of which were tap ins from goalkeepers first save, one should have been grabbed the other pushed away
players AL seems good,i changed the tatics so i was on full offensive (no5)
found that i had 4 upfront and was able to go though 1on 1.
gks are still pretty poor so far none has come out to take a cross in the pen box

compared to the fifa 10 version, its better but for the gks as on fifa i found the gks are more than likly to come out for crosses and when through 1 on 1
i do like this pes 2010 tho its different from 2009 for sure some will like some wont but i think it will grow on people

Nope.. unless I didn't pay attention but I don't think so..

Can some who are playing comment on the difficulty of the game on top player? also more on the 360 degree dribbling.
Thanks in advance.

I play with a XBOX 360 controller and I noticed the 360° dribbling straight away. Not only did I find it useful, refreshing, whatever, after a dozen of matches I noticed it made the game a lot easier at least to me..so I don't even want to think about what's gonna happen against defenders once you master it..

The thing is old habits die hard and everyone wants, I don't even know what they want but it's 360°, they just still use their stick in 8-directions because they have played 4 years this way. But if you know how to use an analog stick gently, you'll manage to take smooth angles.

Ive played 10 games, and here are my plus points and bad points.

Good Points :

1) The appearances - WOW.

2) No loading times, straight into the action from the moment you press kick off, which is extremely impressive.

3) Slower gameplay, most definitely noticeable, the ball still zips about like in 09, but there is absolutely no way you will get from one end of the pitch to the other in a few seconds.

4) Much harder to score, i played the first four games on top player as Liverpool against Barcelona and scored just twice, and other than hitting the woodwork with a superb Aurelio free kick, i didnt manage to trouble Valdes.

5) The newer feel - i guarentee no gamer will be able to pick this up in their first few games. Its taken me a good hour of playing to get accustomed to it.

6) Throw ins - Invisible barrier has gone !!!

7) The shooting - its close to perfect, if you catch it just right with Stevie G, its unstoppable, really easy on the eye this year.

8) Jostling - Much more realistic this year, all 6ft 3 beast of Martin Skrtel can now hold off the nippy little Leo Messi for much longer.

9) The little things - Everything from untucked shirts and the noises of the crowd (as someone mentioned, when the away side score, the silence is deafening, its great). The new way the goalkeepers take their kicks, and the way they bounce along their line on a penalty. There are so many delicate little touches that you will notice as you go along.

10) Hard to win the ball back - This is something i really was impressed with, on top player, if you lose it to Barca (which with this new 360 control will happen believe me) they will knock it around you with first touch passes for a good while, and you usually have to go ugly to win it back.

The Bad

1) Reaction times - Maybe its just me, but they are a fraction too slow for my liking, hopefully this will be rectified in the final release.

2) The sliders, and changing line up, they have overcomplicated a very simple thing, perhaps it will take some time to get used to but i thought it was unneccessarily OTT.

And other than that, there wasnt a whole lot that i didnt enjoy about it, its a great game and your going to really enjoy it if youve not played it already. When you first see it you will fall in love, but the gameplay will take a while to grow on you.

I'd give it an 8/10 so far, and theres a LOT of potential there for the final release, id like to think this was 80-90 per cent complete.

What's Liverpool squad like stat and appearance wise? Any youngsters to develop too? Last year before the update there was only Leto.

It's pretty fun but still not back to SIMULATION like promised. I honestly think this is just the same demo they used at Gamescon, it still seems to play way to fast for my liking. I conceded 2 goals as Spain against Germany, came back to make it 2-2 but both goals I conceded were because Casillas parried 2 easy shots straight out to German attackers, keepers are mince again. Shooting feels better, movement slightly better, graphics are probs the biggest improvement both on the pitch and in menus. Still a bit to similar to last years offering though but at least the invisible throw in walls are gone. Oh and I managed to score about 6 goals in the classic PES style run to by line, cut back pass, tap in to corner, I'm not impressed.

A few points after playing for about an hour.

- 360 dribbling is nice but has anyone else noticed that the AI never seems to use it and still moves in the old 8 way style.

- Passing and shooting is great, no problems there.

- keepers still spill the ball to often but generally are an improvement.

- Player graphics are top notch, but the crowd and pitch both look 2D. The pitch texture is a real let down.

- Improved player animations but still no where near FIFA's standards.

- I couldn't figure out the tactics sliders. It showed 4-4-2 as an example although I was playing 4-3-3 which was pretty confusing and god knows what was happening with the cards, had no idea how to switch them or anything like that.

Its still fun though, and goals are as satisfying as ever especially since long rangers are back. I was pleased if a little underwhelmed, just gotta hope the final product will sort out a few things.

What's up with the penalty shots?

Is there some kind of new system I didn't notice?

I missed one with Pirlo, where the ball went wide right... like 3 meters from the post!!!

First off to anyone complaing about the keepers: Mandanda, Casillas, and Weise for starters are guys who always bobble the ball more often than other keepers (especially Mandanda ) but play with Buffon or Valdes and the GK is top notch.

The pitch looks incredible I mean personally I'm playing on a 42 inch hdtv and all the effects are top notch.

For me the AI is a beast moving in 360 and generally kicking my ass. I can only imagine being an average side against a top club its really going to be difficult.

Passing is great slide tackles are awesome, I really love the new menu when setting up your match very cool.

It's great to see a licensed German national team everybody looks like themselves (maybe a lil to much ).

I'll be eagerly anticipating the final release.

About the penalties, I was just playing with a 2nd person and we were just fouling eachother in the box to test penalties, and not one of them went in from around 10 penalties when we tried to shoot left or right of the keeper..........Only had a chance of scoring one if we hit it low down the centre. Fifa outdoes Pes for penalties by FAR if this system is introduced for pes.
