Ladies and gents, PES 2011 has only been out a couple of months, so instead of looking way too far ahead at a new game, I genuinely think we should concentrate and put our efforts into PES 2011's problems first.
When I got the game on release, I didn’t jump straight onto online. I made sure I got fully to grips with the games engine and patterns, before I started playing online like a n00b. I played 1 ranked game JUST to see if there was any lag or interference, mainly to tell my mates what it was like.
There was a little bit of lag (He was Italian afterall), but not enough to throw the game of. It played fine, I won 1-0 and I recommended the game to my mates!
After that one game I went back to playing single player (Master League and Exhibitions)
A few of my mates have got the game now after being upset with FIFA 11.
So we have been playing 2vs2 in the match lobbies, and the lag, scripted play and un-responsive issues have been off-putting to say the least.
Instead of me dragging this thread on I’m just going to give bullet points and let you lot discuss them:
- Lag, lag and more lag. Most games are pathetic, you can’t move, pass, shoot or dribble with the ball and the game just looks a mess.
- Player changing! PATHETIC! It’s heavily delayed, AND you can get control of the player somebody else has control of!
- Scripted game play! Some people you play, you look at the game and it’s beyond "just" being lucky. Corners being given that CLEARLY came of them, Penalties given for fair ball winning tackles. Players running into the player who is moving with the ball and the free-kick is given to them!
- COM PRESSURE BUTTON ABUSE, some people get 4 to 5 players chasing after the 1 player on the ball.
- What’s the point of having lots of lobbies to cater for all nationalities, when all the foreigners end up in the top English one? What’s the point of even having them lobbies when there all in the English one speaking Chinese, French, Italian, Spanish etc etc. A vast majority of lobbies are not needed and are taking up server space which COULD explain laggy issues!
- Lobby organization, it’s just too mixed and messy. Have a 2vs2 lobby strictly for 2vs2’s, being in the same lobby as all the 1vs1 ranked games is totally stupid. PLUS you have people sat in lobbies at top of the list not even playing! Put an inactive timer on the lobbies, so that if they are not playing after a certain amount of time the lobby gets closed.
- Rainbow flick abuse, speaks for itself. TAKE IT OUT NOW!
- Unable to beat players running down the wing.
- Samuel is able to catch up a player clear through on goal ahead by 3 or 4 yards. (Played a game earlier Ajax vs. Inter, I was clean through with Suarez after Samuel stumbled and lost the ball on the halfway line, I was genuinely 3, 4 yards in front of him and by the time I even got to the box, he had got back and won the ball!)
- Related to the last point, Defenders have WAY to much advantage over the attacking player. The best attacking players on the game are made average and the "worser" players are rendered useless because of this. YOU CANT run past players online in the way that you want to.
- Button lag, DEARY ME! You will press to pass the ball and the bar will even go up! And it STILL won’t pass the ball, same goes for the shooting.
- First time shots, volleys on the edge of the box are useless. The player will take an extra 2 to 3 touches. Yet in single player, these things are fine and really satisfying!
- And finally player awareness! I SWEAR the players on this game are blind, they just don’t react quick enough (Attack and Defense!) and when you do change to a player open on the attack or to defend, it’s like trying to get control of a fucking 18 wheeler sometimes and that’s not even mentioning, when they get tired!
