Couldn't agree anymore with you :) PES12 was the worse of the series. PES13 on Manual passing improves by a lot over PES12 but another main difference where Konami got it wrong is the default camera angle.they zoomed it out bit too much to accommodate players runs off the ball and few other technical elements.most of the player utilize more field of view to spam throughballs,link up unrealistic passes and stuff.
IMO they need to zoom in the camera a bit (Like PES11 maybe) and the world will witness the true power of Fox Engine.

I always like PES6 but I found it too easy. A better comparison would be PES4/5 which were much better games. 2013 is a lot closer to 4 in my opinion. It has some big flaws but on the whole it is a good game to play. Master League is festooned with annoying cut-scenes and needless fluff but it seems quite good underneath.

Yeah, probably. Was still fun to play against another human being though. Had hours of fun having Master League battles with my brother on that game. Each with our own created teams. Back then, creating an ML team wasn't such a chore as it seems to have become in 2012 and 2013. I think I had 7 teams and tended to stop after 5 seasons:

Bolton Wanderers
AFC Bolton
FC Pisces (Pisces is my star sign)
Bolton Athletic
Burnden Utd
Burnden City
Ciudad de Burnden (this was a continued version of Burnden City for seasons 5-10, just to see how players developed past season 5).

Excellent use of the word "festooned" btw.
