Do you really care what players of a different game thinks of the one you're playing?

I play PES because I like it better than FIFA, but if FIFA released a game that was better I would change in a heartbeat. There are no such thing as "us against them" or if it is, then I laugh at anyone deliberately being a part of it... :)

There are obviously the odd few who don't appreciate the pes demo on the fifa forums too, but it's to be expected.
I guess there will be a fair few pes fans who will give fifa 13 a good go too, it will have to be quite a bit better than fifa 12 though eh.

Funny thing is FIFA will also have new engine cause 2014 new hardware will be out.

So his comment is neither here nor there really.

I feel it's the same like last year's pes -> demo 1 is better than demo 2. Demo 1 has more freedom somehow. I really like the ball physics in demo 1. In demo 2 i feel the ball is lighter and has this magnetic feel from pes 2012. Also CPU crosses are very accurate and hard to counter in head to head battle just like scripted header goals in pes 2012. Dribble seems a little closer to the foot , a little unrealistic compared to demo 1. The better things are toned down shots and pass speed.

The guys probably never heard of licensing, the cost and legal work it involves, and thats not made any easier with an already existing 1st choice game for licensing "fifa"...

One more thing i discover in demo 2 -> I always play everything on manual, but trying pass support at 1, makes the passes feel more real, i mean the animation of the pass maker is bit slower and the ball not just go too fast from the foot. The strange thing is that the CPU passes on 1 pass support are also better with the same more reaistic feel, not just ping-ponging. If only konami make the shot animation more time consuming, because now the speed of the ball when the player shot is not equal to the short animation of moving foot. The ball just can't go so fast with this small move of people's feet. So in these situation there are two things that can be made - a) ball go slow or b) extended time animation for preparing for the shot.

Edit: Actually the gameplay is very very good with pass asstistance 1 and Long Camera. I know you have not a good view of the whole field, but it's very good for close control and player ID is more distinct.

Oh don't get me wrong , i don't give a shit what fifa fans think. I also play pes because it's got the BETTER gameplay hands down.

and as for your other comment just before..........PES used to have the best gameplay hands down. Then it got surpassed, with ease one might add, this gen. PES 13 is a step in the right direction and an finally an enjoyable experience but yet is still held back by the unwilling nature to move forward in to the present.

The game has only just gotten manual passing, something Fifa has done for a while. PES didn't get BAL till Fifa did VP and many more in this regard.

The Animations in PES still suck ass while Fifa improves upon them year after year. The Acknowledment of Physical presence and strength in Fifa is something you see in every footy game and yet Konami ignores it, still


I know that post comes as all Pro Fifa and in truth it was supposed to, in order to show Fifa does great things which many ignore in light of franchise preference.

But In truth, the best football game would be with a joint venture of the 2 franchises.......PES going back to days of PE5 gameplay coupled with the polish and attention to detail EA brings.

Before you reply though Just imagine it. PES 5 ( Highly regarded as the best footy game ever) gameplay, coupled with Todays Fifa animations, collisions/Fighting Mechanics, The new Physics based Run system ( far beyond anything PES has ever done), fully Licensed.

But Unfortunately that will never happen:crymore:

The only reason Pes got surpassed is not because Fifa got awesome, but because Pes went downhill after Pes 5. But yeah, Fifa did improve alot since the ps2 days, however, it's not the massive improvement that you're saying because at it's core, it's still not a very accurate representation of football. Pes isn't either, but it has more points going in it's favour than Fifa has. The thing with pes is that it f*cks up the animations, thus ruining the overall feeling of the game and pace, something that Fifa does really well. And I believe that this eye candy that fifa has, plays a huge part as to why it looks better than Pes (not graphics per se, but how football looks on tv).

Be a pro in Fifa debuted in Fifa 08. But Pes had it a year before in a japanese version. They released it only in Japan for a test run. :)

Pes 13 does have a good physical presence in terms of strength battles, but it doesn't looks good compared to fifa, NOT because it's not there, but because the animations do not show it as beautifully as Fifa does.

But even though Fifa may SEEM like it did a wonderful job with physical battles. That's actually one of the game's main annoyances and faults. Basically, strength and speed in fifa are the only 2 traits that really matter. Nothing else comes close as to how much these 2 stats matter, so you can have a big guy like Carrol who in reality suck at dribbling and in Fifa, you can keep the ball with him and beat defenders by shoving them off to the side. And this happens because of how overrated strength in Fifa really is.

Then the biggest insult. They made Messi weaker in strength and you know what happens? You can only beat defenders with Messi by using tricks (something that he doesn't do) or with speed (he does it in rea life, but he does it much more by using close control and BALANCE which is missing in Fifa). This basically concludes what I wanted to say about Strength and speed and how Fifa's gameplay totally revolves around them. And this is why I don't think that fifa is all that great.

Oh and for the record. I am also one of those who say that although Pes has better things at it's core than Fifa currently, pes is still not that awesome when compared to other games because it's is actually stupid to have a game for 2013 with these animations especially.

However I highly agree that if you take the best of Fifa and the best of Pes, it would be much better than both Pes and Fifa as individuals. :)
