Is there a site I can go to to find a comprehensive list of all the january transfers? If there is, and I can find time, I'll have a bash at an updated option file

Heres the list of Jan transfers of both leagues:

Prem League:

Championship:

There has been ALOT of transfers in the Prem and Champ this January, so it would take a realllly long time if you decide to have a go.
Some players are not even in the game itself, so we would have to create them from scratch while converting stats from Football Manager 2008 using an application called verter. And also keep in mind that the appearences has to be done aswell (doesn't have to completely resemble player).

Jesus, installing a patch really has become very difficult. It was so much easier back in the day, a simple drag and drop, i'm afraid that importing such a patch like this might be beyond my capabilities. I've had an attempt albeit a rather feeble one and unsurprisingly hit a brick wall when trying to patch the file. Can someone help please ? These are the steps i took

1) Downloaded Winrar
2) Downloaded AFS Explorer
3) Downloaded the file
4) Extracted the AFS Explorer file using Winrar
5) When trying to import AFS file, i couldn't locate the img thats mentioned in the pic tutorial.

Now i know ive gone wrong somewhere, bear in mind lads, your speaking to a real novice with windows vista. If i ever get mine working i think im going to do a step by step guide for dummies, surely im not the only one who's unable to enjoy the great work thats gone into this patch haha. Any help appreciated, thanks.

The img file is located at:
C:\Program Files\KONAMI\Pro Evolution Soccer 2008\img

And when you said you are a Vista user, are you using the 32-bit or the 64-bit version?

With Vista you need to run software as adminstrator. Any problems just nip back over and giv us a shout. It will definitly work if you get it done right.

I think some of the files may been corrupted when you were patching. Try reinstalling the the game with fresh .img files and re-download the patch.

If the problem persists, please come back.

You can try robablade's patch, i think he has updated january transfers.
There are a few things different from my patch.

Previously, you have said that you couldn't find the img file, have you tried checking?:
C:\Program Files\KONAMI\Pro Evolution Soccer 2008\img

I don't really have time for a step by step in messenger, but i could help if you can post anything that looks different from the Picture-Tutorial in your own attempt.

Make sure you have both the edit file (PES2008_EDIT01.bin) and option file (PES2008_OPTION01.bin) are in the "My Documents/KONAMI/Pro Evolution Soccer 2008/save" folder then launch both load settings from system settings, AND load data from within edit.

Then turn auto-save on, and do a final save just to make sure.

Also, use fresh EDIT and OPTION files just incase the previous ones were accidently overwritten.


if that doesn't work, try this:

Problem with PES 2008 PC NOT LOADING OPTION FILES.

my problem came back. its tempermental.

basically you install pes as admin, then if ANOTHER user plays pes, not admin. then ownership of the game transfers over. then when the game is run as admin it won't load the option file as its inside another users directory and programs arn't allowed to look there. (obviously)

in bbbb's case it this seems it. the only solution is to play the game as that other user, or manually load both the option file and the edit file within the game.

i belive theres a pc patch 1.20 that fixes this, but it wouldnt install for me saying error thats it.

basically that is the problem, for best results install pes under one user only and only use the game as that user. i cleaned the lot and made a seperate user account called pes, and only use it for playing pes and patching pes thats it.

hi, i've got that same problem with french names... i'm running vista 32-bit... first i had problem with not loading option file (the game asked for difficulty level every time i start it)... after installing 1.20 patch, it didn't happen anymore... however, it still displayed french names in championship league, even after loadin system data and edit...

about this solution from stuntmaster, does it affect the system with only one user (i know it sounds stupid), since this user is administrator?

p.s. i noticed that if i load system+edit while in pes (and still doesn't change the names), after i exit it, the game overwrites "PES2008_OPTION01.bin" file ... dunno if it has anything with the whole situation...

and the patch really looks great...
