Hey Im gonna have to get both versions cause one for live and one for playing with my mate cuase you cant play 5 players the xbox, I would join the league but I dont have Live YET but should be GETTING it.

While no Xbox Live online details were revealed, Konami TYO plans to enhance the game by adding the standard better animations, updated rosters, and improved AI, as well as on-screen referee who feature more realistic AI, additional formations, and new data for the Master League career mode. Gamers also can take a picture of a Master League team for future multiplayer competitions, and more realistic injuries (and more serious consequences from those injuries).
"We're evaluating the Xbox for this franchise in the US market, but we're still in the planning stages," said a Konami US representative who added that the US arm of Konami hadn't even officially announced the Winning Eleven 8 yet. "We don't have any comment on possibility of online functionality."
Yeah hope for the best folks.

Who would buy an XBOX if it did get online only for XBOX,,,,,,,,, I know I would, in fact games like Halo 2, makes it well worth it anyways. It does'nt matter what platform to be honest. PS2 is now starting to struggle with WE8 (ie slow down - stutters etc ) so it makes sense to switch to a better platform should there be one.
If the xbox version is a better experience then the PS2 can collect dust for all that it matters.

Ive signed up for the league but Im still no sure if it will be online.
