Haha is this a joke?! Seriously?!

Right well its sorted! Lets get all those people who changed a couple of numbers on the keepers and drew a couple hundred logos in a paint program and lets create our own football game!!!

With all our ideas im sure it will be better than anything Konami could do, obviously they can't be bothered, I mean all they have to do is tweak a few numbers and all the fans will be happy!

What a joke... Some people are seriously stupid. Lets see techboy draw a 3d football character, let alone put him in a stadium, with a pitch and stands, filled with fans, stadiums that are near accurate to their real life counterparts. Then wait! Maybe draw a couple more thousand characters, sort them into teams, with individual stats to make them come to life... But thats only the start! Thats just a database. You need to make them move and act like real footballers, so this means motion capture and thousands of lines of hand written unique code and months of testing even on the smallest details! Then also there needs to be an online mode... Should I go on?

Jesus do you have any clue!? Cut them some slack, this game is brilliant and has its faults but lets see you do better, with your editing friends!

Prick!

Hmm, Prick is it?!? I won't retort to that. I'm above it.

You're missing the point completely. These are supposed to be leaders in their field. By your definition, a brain surgeon should say fk this for critizing me you try and do brain surgery better, or a lawyer should turn round and say why are you slagging me off for not getting the client off the hook, you read law for 5 years and do better. It's just a stupid argument. Really stupid.

I scored 179 not out in cricket last game of the season and play a whole host of sports to a reasonably high level, do I expect the programmers of KONAMI to excel in all sports like me; NO! So therefore why should say, or you, well fk you you do better and try and programme this game.

IT'S WHAT THEY FKIN DO FOR A LIVING, like policeman, astronauts, professional hockey players, butchers, bakers, candle stick makers or any other job in life.

DON'T BE SO PRECIOUS OVER PES; I love PES, I love aspects of this game. But you CANNOT sit at your keyboard and seriosuly type that people need to get off KONAMI'S back about certain issues, like keepers, their patch and their servers.

This isn't 1997 now sunshine, where Dizzy and Asteroid are ruling the world, we're in the 21st century with some AMAZING games out there and you're telling me that we SHOULD ACCEPT these keepers and give KONAMI a break.

I mean, what are smoking if you don't mind me asking?

anyway, some visible bugs that weren't in pes 2011 are in pes 2012 meaning konami don't need a year just to export something from their previous game. I do applaud konami for building the game from scratch

Do you realise how hard it is to make a game? I'm a web developer and work with HTML, CSS, Javascript. Which is hard enough but creating a game is another level! I don't think some of you realise what is, and what isn't possible with limited resources also. EA is a giant compared to Konami, they could out-pay people and probably have some of the original pro evo developers anyway!

Do you know how hard it is to build a house?
It's not really hard if that's what you do for a living. And it's not like Konami have had few tries to make a game, you know.
When a product is on sale for money, the consumer has every right to question the quality. Or lack of in many cases with PES.

I've said it many times before, and I repeat; I like PES12, but I expect more to be honest. Konami surprised me in many ways this year, as they have a brilliant engine in many ways. They have improved parts of the game I already was happy with, and made them even better. Too bad they've ignored the same parts over and over since PES2009. I hope they release an extensive patch that resolve some of these issues, but I think the best we can hope for is a PES13 that does that. Konami usually release 2-3 patches that hardly fixes anything but crash bugs and interface issues.

All we can do is wait as see IF KONAMI ACTUALLY sort the issues!

Sort the issues and we got a good game!

Next update will prob add Some NEW boots and 3 extra hair styles though!

MORE VIEWS!

I play at -1...
but find it a tad heavy and slow...

Speed 0 ...i find WAY tooo fast!

Mibi we should have -0.5 setting?
lol

As for the Difficulty! WTF is going on here!?
SUPER - "Hardest" Setting? - I don't think so!

I lose more goals and have tougher games when set to 3/4 stars...(old school talk..lol)
And once setting 5 is activated....you got no chance due to KONAMI's inability to make an HONEST & HARD game at the same time!

The difficulty of this game or how well you do in it...
...is not governed by YOUR OWN skill level anymore IMO...compared to back in the day!
Games are either..
A - Easy wins with NO challenge...
B - Scripted mince...but you still 7/10 win the match anyways...

ML - PES5/6
When you qualified for Europe / Champions League...
You used to be worried when you got the draw for the group stage!
You NEEDED to have at least 2/3 very good players to have a chance in some games...
Formation and player Form meant something!

ML - PES12
You fear nothing now...every team/game plays the same...
Domestic League, Cup, Champions League!? - Feels the same...
You Don't need a star player now to make the difference..so not as dependent on making great transfers now...
You can go out there with a very average team with no purchased players or custom tactics...and still win...
Defeats the whole purpose of making your team better if you can still win without bothering!

Super Star is the setting to play it on...
BUT, its not even a challenge!...
half hung over/half drunk/half asleep...i still seem to win games rather easily!
Bit strange when the easier settings give the harder game!?

PES6 > PES2012

I was a HEAVY PES gamer until PES2008 graced our presence!

After PES12, i found myself back on my PC playing PES6 to see the progress....

Bare in Mind...
I have Kit-Server, Stadium-Server and the starting line ups for season 2007/2008...
In Game Menu's / Music / Commentary all upgraded from the game default...thankfully!

Graphics...
Thanks to the above...graphics are sharp and clear...crips...
You can tell players appearances from any camera angel... - HD versions look blurred and nasty in comparison
Camera Angles - how i forgot one was able to change the angle of rotation! - something removed for ALL HD versions!?!
Replays - Nice! no slow downs, screen tearing or frame skipping...- HD versions! SOOOO bad...the replay quality is un watch-able at times!
Then there are the replay views...the HD versions of the game introduce 2 new and useless angles that show the ball or grass 70% of the time...
and if you get a good angle on it, the frame rate is shocking...

Player Animations/Control -
basic...but doesn't feel awkward...
the player does as he is told...PES12 feels very lagy and heavy now in comparison...
passing - how i forgot the range of passing and the change in tempo you can create...passes zip along to roughly intended results...
when you make a bad pass, its because YOU made a bad pass...not the hideous PES12 scripting saying..."nope, not this time"
and, through balls work...1-2's work...crossing works...

i could go on all day...thats just some brief points...

but after playing PES12...then PES6...
I find my self asking...what the hell has been going on since 2006?!

Why does a 6 year old game on OLD GEN...still feel more solid, more finished than a game that's had 5 years to improve?!

Shove pretty much 99% of the game content from PES12...
shove them into PES6 engine...with a few animation/graphics tweeks...
BANG...There is a game i would be happy with...
Or a game which should of been PES2008...

If this was the year 2008 or 2009....
i would not be that overly critical of what we are playing at the moment...

But its 2011!
and 5 years later...i
I feel the game has not gone forward the way it should...

Yes, PES12 is the "best" next gen version...but that's not saying a lot when compared to what came before it!
I feel we have been robbed by KONAMI for every penny since PES5/6!

Yes, PES5/6 had its issues...but they were not as mental or as head banging annoying as the issues in PES12...

Would be interested to see what other think on it?

I couldnt agree more just read my recent posts

It is not the development of the whole game has been goin backwards since then imo but that the 2012 version is a complete abomination im just glad I never forked out for it... looks like ill be keeping with 2011 for a while at least

ur absolutely right and i would like to ask does konami hired game tester to test their game before they put the game on the shelf?? cause if they do those game test(s) can !@#$%^&* cause we r getting the same issues every year since 2009?? give konami a break hell no they should give us a break by releasin a real quality game!!

Agree'd!
I don't understand how most people (mibi not on this thread)...
are defending this game and its designers!....

If a Fire Man decides to use wrong the type of...
fire engine to put a fire out!? (lol)
He is not doing his job...

When a team of programmers for IBM?! roll out a piece of software for a call centre that doesn't support the needs of the staff using the system...
What happens - the software gets scrapped...heads roll...and some one else gets out sourced...

Konami... release a game...which is broken...
Release a patch which "fixes" things....only it doesn't...
but we then find out its a dishonest fix by pulling the wool over our eyes...
us...the consumer...the person who is always right!

If KONAMI where a programming company that covered things for call centres, banks etc...THEY WOULD BE OUT OF BUSINESS!
No question about it...

Either their work ethic/programming ability is in question!
OR they just don't care!
Both of which is a P45 in ANY other walk of life!

Konami actually does a pretty decent job making the MGS series. Its almost as if PES is second priority nowadays. Still i think they do a borderline job with pes every year, so i dont mind as long as i'm satisfied.

quote" Its almost as if PES is second priority nowadays. Still i think they do a borderline(good enough to sell) job with pes every year,"

and your satisfied with that result because personally had i forked out I would be fuming??

master league in pes 6 was classic and exciting with hidden things wating ofr you every week but in pes 6 there was NO youth team, NO scouting for players, NO UCL, UEFA, COPA, NO hiring players to be in your staff, NO Team training and theres more.
So if you sum up all the pros and cons, pes 2012 ml is better eventhough there are annoying cutscenes. Also pes should try develop what fifa are doing in manager mode - every player has their own mind and instead of saying things like 'why are you not playing me. i can't see why i am inferior to other players', every player should say something different like anelka come sup to you and says'don't play me next match, i'll refuse to traain' and torres coming up to you and saying 'i want to play more so i score more and my value will go up'

Also you said every match is easy to play, but that isn't ml, its gameplay.
Also i don't understand some people say the game is hard and some say it's easy. Theres an awful lot of bias around here

def mate...
Konami have come on leaps and bounds in lots of other area's around the game...
PES6 master league is very very basic now compared to the new one!
But then completely missed the point on other area's!

Don't get me wrong...the stuff that works...works well...
And as "complete" as FIFA is...can never settle into the game like PES...

I don't understand how people say the game is too easy or to hard either...
Top Player is broken...
it is THE hardest setting in the game, but its not down to it being hard...
The "AI Scriptin" nonsense ruins this level!

And Super difficulty...
Plays a more honest open game...prefer this level...
But you never feel threatened by the opposing team...

PES5/6 on highest level in comparison...
you could walk away from a right doing sometimes!
You could control a game very easily...and bang...be 2-0 down!
You could be getting pounded by the big teams in Europe...but scrape a 0-0 draw or a wee cheeky late goal from a set piece...
That element of the game is sadly lacking in PES12...
and has been since the next gen versions tbh...

PES5/6 were not perfect by anymeans...
But i never had the amount of complaints or issues with the older games as i do with the newer ones...

In comparison the older games feel more finished and less buggy!
Mibi thats because these games are not as complex as the new codding for PES12...
Don't know...
But then thats something your games testers would of picked up on!

"By the way seabass...your new game could do with having these issues sorted"

just seems as though the game gets released...
THEN they find out the issues that are wrong...

I can write a list of things wrong with PES2012 as long as my arm, but i'm still currently enjoying it.

An observation could be, without defending them, that making a football game is essentially very difficult. Harder than other genre of game. There is a vast amount of money to be made in football computer games, yet there are only 2 companies making them. And since PES6, both FIFA and PES have been at best, average. It would make sense that someone else would have swooped in by now, if it was viable, to improve on whats already available.

PES2012 has something about it that gives me the impression Konami are getting it. Seeing past the issues, theres a great game there. Now just make the tweaks and please please remove the scripting.

I think PS2 games had less scripting as the game was a lot simpler. Now theres more controls, skills, tactics, 360 degree movement etc, the cpu has more areas to deal with. More areas it needs to act like a human. More areas it has to create difficulty, game flow, excitement. I think if you step back from the frustration you can see there might be logical reasoning behind the scripting and other flaws.

It still seems that if they had proper games testers they could have spotted and tweaked areas that would vastly improve the finished games.

I remember buying a FIFA game years ago, i think maybe FIFA 2004, just because after taking another beatdown on PES, some of my mates would go on about it's only because it's PES and how they would cane me on FIFA etc. This was the only time i bought FIFA and i honestly only kept it for 1 day. Even though i played it now and then at mate's houses it was so bad once i actually tried to get into it that i couldn't believe it. I didn't even question why i just knew instinctively it felt WRONG.

But over the years i have watched as PES goes no where, maybe pissing around with master league which i personally don't care about, whilst FIFA seems to get slightly better each year, even if it was still sh1t.

I honestly think Konami is now taking the piss with all of us PES fan boys. They clearly aren't tying or care properly.

What improvements in actual gameplay has PES made since PES 6 !?

In my opinion FIFA has defiantly got more playable.

PES was almost there, they were so close, all they need to do was concentrate a bit where as poor old FIFA was a broken mess and needed so much more care and attention to get anywhere.

In my opinion it's all about complacency and negligence.

They can decide to make a great option like RANDOM SELECTION MATCH and then leave it out if they want, it's retarded yes, but if they want to do it then that is their right. But can they leave an option out completely that is actually in the manual and on the case, ie 2vs2 online on the XBOX360.
Konami have taken the piss and i am not letting them get away with it, lol.

Even if, despite all it's 1 step forward, 2 steps back nonsense, PES is still much better than FIFA, what happens if we just continue to accept second best?

I now own FIFA 12 and not PES 2012. But it is so hard. I am pining for PES so much it's truely pathetic. Konami has broken my heart.
