It's not just the defenders; that's how Konami simulates the difference in team strength, team spirit, etc.. They just don't know better.
I just played a match against a lvl-4 yesterday with my lvl1-team. Of course my lvl-1 team was the underdog but how did the game simulate the difference in team strength? For instance: It made my striker (Gakpe: explosive power = 92, speed = 88, speed & agility = 90) incapable of running along with Skrtel (explosive power = 67, speed: 74) and it was in the beginning phase of the game; my striker was full of stamina.

No, i'm not talking about the players running shoulder to shoulder struggling for the ball; Skertel did just outrun my explosiver power 92, speed 88 striker.
That's one thing the game engine does: Slow down players to favor one side. You also often see strikers slow down just before they could reach the ball to prevent them from getting to it.

I do think this is different than the typical "catch up bug" from years past. This is not a coding error but rather a systematic means to make it harder when using better teams. On the lines of what Munster is writing about.

Its too bad because when using lower teams / created teams you see everything more balanced and fair - I ran stride for stride chasing a winger with a fullback down most of the pitch. Looked later to find very similar speeds and other attributes between the two players. Also noticed a player with just a little more speed slowly edging another out on a long sprint.

But i have noticed that slow down when chasing a free ball and it is frustrating. And that is not a glitch, it has to be hard coded to be happening at the frequency it occurs.

Does PES2015 still have the "Super Cancel" button combos? I still play PES2013 and if I hold down Sprint and Right Trigger, these buttons create a Super Cancel meaning no AI is applied to my player.

I use this when in chase of loose balls and when shoulder to shoulder with defenders.

Yes, it does. Yes, it is very useful, either to save stamina (preventing the dumbasses from running after a ball that is clearly going out), not break up opposition plays after a fault (I found that when you Super Cancel during Advantage Rule, you will always get a yellow card when the game stops again), and most importantly, stop the fuckind defender from running to the ball at the same time as GKs, which prevents many own goals.

To do it just press and hold as necessary :R1: + :R2:

I've noticed catch up only a handful of times, when you get a player you know should be faster being noticeably outrun. Every time I checked it, the player who was faster had slower stats but his form was on red each time compared to the player with faster stats having lower form. The biggest difference I noticed was once with Dzeko outrunning Koscielny, even though Koscielny's speed stats are a decent amount faster and Dzeko was running with the ball. Dzeko was on red form, Koscielny on orange. Poor implementation of form by Konami, most noticable when players are on red form. They seem to get a huge boost in stats compared to other forms. I know players on form should have certain stats boosted but for speed and even strength it should be marginal. Being on top form shouldn't make you all that faster, compared to green and especially orange form, its a bit ridiculous at the moment with red. It needs toning down. It's like they lazily just boost all stats or lower them depending on form, without thinking about which realistically should be boosted or lowered and to what degree.
