Both FIFA 12 & PES 2012 are simply horrible :)

I own both and they are both shit and I feel like I wasted my $$$.

I recommend buying a real football and going outside playing with your mates + getting football manager 2012.

Peace & Love!

haven't tried FIFA but i feel the same way about PES now and i'm planning to sell my PES 12.

haven't tried but i feel the same way about PES now and i'm planning to sell my PES 12.

I think I'm going to do the same. At the end of the day, it's just the same primitive representation of football. I was thinking I should keep at least one PES from this generation, but I'm not sure if it's worth it.

For me, the AI is far too stupid in this game and controls way too much of the play for any real human v human interaction. If you figured out the broken gameplay glitches in the first PES, you can still do them here. That in itself is a joke, that the primitive engine hasn't changed in over 6 years.

Yes FIFA's AI pales in comparison, but for me that's where they win. They give the freedom to the user as opposed to dictating the game in the most unrealistic fashions imaginable. FFS, the game still plays like pong.

People clamoring about the different types of goals on offer in PES fail to mention that they come from the most unrealistic, ridiculous circumstances without any regard whatsoever to context, physics, or reality. For me that nullifies any variety whatsoever in PES because it's all forced and scripted.

The nuances of the game are actually stripped in this game. This game is more like a play that konami has designed while the user gives VERY general ideas and watches it play out on screen.

For me it's not rewarding in the slightest, and i'd much rather the bland offering of FIFA where at least it is not so scripted human v human (guaranteed to eat my words).

*FIFA is probably not the answer, but PES DEFINITELY isn't the answer (for anybody looking to play against people, anyway; and can't get a patch that nullifies the stupidity of the programmers).

At the end of the day, i'm just tired of fighting the game and not my opponent. You don't play this game like a game of football. In fact, this could be any sport in the world because you're not really involved with your players; you tell konami to make them do things. It really feels that far removed.

**And the 'special controls button is the dumbest gimmick in a sports game ever. Seriously. Fucking. Stupid.

FIFA12 V PES12

For me, certain roles have reversed!

PES12 started off promising this year...
But the more i play it, the more broken it feels...
FIFA12 i HATED to start off...
But the more i play it, the more i seem to get into it...

Both do certain things well...
Both do certain things wrong...

PES is a real disappointment...
Mibi thats cause so many of us put so much expectation into the game?
Does some of the hard things well!
But delivers very poorly on the things you take for granted that EA seem to have no issues with...EVER!

The ONLY things that saves PES is the Option File makers & Modders!
Without it, PES is a £40 paper weight!
Without the modders out there...PES would be nothing!
Without the PES Editor...PES would be nothing!
You really going to stand there and defend a game...
with a fraction of the teams/leagues...done incorrectly?!
Are you hell!

This is where FIFA wins...
Most people don't want to have to spend hours downloading stuff and turning the game into a finished product! FIFA out the box, is a far more complete package!

FIFA got all the gloss...
PES (when working) has all the substance...
Put both games together...Perfect!

Though, FIFA's player likeness is...SHOCKING..AWFUL!
SPL players...they look NOTHING like their real life counter parts!
PES, even the lower teams, look real!

Even then though....
The fact is...
EA are closer to making the "perfect" footy game compared to KONAMI!

WTF you two stupid Fifa Fan Boys.

PES is the best football game. It has organic game play that Fifa doesn't have and the players all play like themselves ...unlike fifa.

The AI is PES is very smart and Fifa is dumb.

All you have to do is patch the game with Jenky's patch, download a couple option files, fix the sliders and practice practice practice...

Although you don't need a patch for Fifa ...PES is more organic and full of goal variation...

Fifa is for people who don't know football and PES is for people who knows football. Even Kids can play fifa ....Kids can't paly PES because it is a big man's game with a lot of organic build up.

So think before you post you fifa noobs.

take a look at how good the game is ...

FIFA is for people that don't know football?!
Kids can't paly PES because it is a big man's game with a lot of organic build up?!?!

Never responded with slander before on a personal level!
But, you really are a bit of a tube!

Whats the Topic called FIFA12 v PES12!
We are comparing BOTH games!
Not all of us are BLIND "PES FAN BOYS" like you!

Mibi want to do some RESEARCH before replying back with tripe mate!

If you go into the EDIT section..COMPLETE PS3 Option Files...
You'll find an SPL option file done by myself!
What "FIFA Fan Boy" would WASTE HOURS on customising a PES game?!?!
TAXI FOR OCKRASS

Did i not also say PES has ALL THE SUBSTANCE?
(only when they fix the engine mind you!)
Which could be interpreted as....ORGANIC!
TAXI FOR OCKRASS

You will also see i mention PES12 being its BEST...
WHEN on the PC..and using Jerkys Patch!
TAXI FOR OCKRASS

BUT unfortunately...
We can't use Jerkys patch for the PS3 or 360!
TAXI FOR OCKRASS

So..
congratulations to KONAMI for releasing the best "ORGANIC" game ever...
According to you....
Unfortunately, to get that game into that state...or anywhere near it!
All we need is a High End PC...
And a forum/community full of patcher's dedicating HOURS to the cause!

thank you KONAMI for selling an incomplete broken game to us where WE have to work together to turn the game into the state it should be when released!

Your Taxi is here OCKRASS!

At least in my experiences I view it like this:

FIFA is geared towards the pick up and play gamer. Someone who may not know a lot about the sport, but wants to play a soccer game. There are basically 4 types of goals that are scored in the game, but the game is built for goals (instant gratification). The new defensive system is a nice addition, though. There are tactics involved, but they don't translate to the pitch in any way, shape, or form.

PES is aimed at people who know a little more about the game itself and are looking for a challenge. You don't necessarily need to know a lot about tactics, but it certainly adds depth to your gameplay experience if you do. There is also a lot more variation in goals and it's actually rewarding when you do score a goal, because it's a lot harder.

Again, that's my opinion of the two series in general, not just this years' editions.

In general terms I suppose you are riight, I know a fair few people who play FIFA though that I would call very knowledgeable about the game of football. But just prefer it due to the animations, the licenses, the fact they can play online clubs in be a pro. And this year they seem to be enjoying career mode. I personally have been put off FIFA soley due to how boring FIFA 11 was and I just can't be bothered to shell out for two games anymore. I think therevis something gratifying about the pes experience not just about trying to beat the AI, but the whole editing and finding an option file, it's strange it draws me in more.

There's your problem right there: you bought the game in the state it's in. Don't blame Konami, blame yourself. The user reviews on every PES site on the net made it very clear the game isn't worth the purchase this year. You had plenty of warning.

I was stating back to him what he typed...which very was baffling and mince!

Unfortunately, or fortunately... depending on ones frame of mind...
i don't believe a WORD reviewers say!
And at that...the reviews don't come out BEFORE the game gets released!
AND...
If we go by ORKOS (what ever) statement...
PES12 is the BEST game ever!
ITS ORGANIC!...lol

I pre-ordered the game AFTER playing Demo2...
(Prob like many others!)
And going by previous PES demo's history...
very little changes from the DEMO to the retail version...
how wrong was i there!

Also, when it comes down to paying £30-40 for a game...
Do we not want that game in a complete/fully working state?!
We are not buying BETA games here!...We are buying a FULL complete game...

Yes there are issues with games that require patches to fix the glitches...
thats a gimmie!
But the level of patching required to make PES12 into a solid state...
Begs the questions...
WHY was it released in its current state?
Was the game ACTUALLY tested?
WHY ask the users for feedback regarding not one, but TWO demo's...
Acknowledging the issues...
AND promising to address them...
Only to release something that addresses NONE of the issues raised...
But create MANY more issues!

Saying "the blame is on me" is a daft statement!

Funny, I played the same demos, then waited to hear what users had to say after the game was released. And after reading things for a couple weeks, it became clear the game was a broken mess this year, so I didn't buy it. If you're not entirely to blame for rushing out prematurely to buy the game, who is?

Funny...
When i was READING up on what people thought in the forums...
i got feedback that Demo2 was going in the correct direction...for once.

People were actually looking forward to this years version...

And apart from SOME minor issues...and the keepers not being great...
Version 1.0 played nice...like Demo2...

Then patch 1.1 and 1.2 came along and drastically changed the game!
For the worse in my opinion...
Again sorted some things, BUT by pulling the wool over our eyes by LAZY programming fixes, rather than LOOKING at the issue that's the problem...

That's correct. And then the game came out, and immediately people were in an uproar over the horrible GKs and a few other issues. Then Konami released a patch that screwed up the gameplay even further.

I followed the whole drama on the various PES forums so I know the story. And then I started to hear Jenkey's patch could save the game. I even looked into ordering it online this week. But after watching Techboy's vids with the patch, the game IMO looks ridiculously bad -- that's cartoon football.

And through all that I STILL haven't bought the game/been ripped off by Konami, see?

Ok - Recap!

We BOTH think PES12 is broken...and got worse with the patches!
But IF fixed, yes, it would be the game we want....and would play over FIFA...

The only difference is...
I have bought PES12...and experienced the issues 1st hand...
You have not bought PES12...and going with what other people have said...

And if i never bought PES12, there would be no SPL Option File!!!
(DU DU DU DU DU DU!!!!!)

I have only played FIFA12 cause it came "free" with my new PS3...
Its not a game i would of paid money for or rented after playing the demo!
But as it was "free" thought i would give is a bash...

And when BF3 servers are down...
And i am fed-up of editing The SPL Option file...
FIFA is a pleasant distraction...

Not played to the same depth as PES i might add...
Mibi if i played FIFA as much as all the other PES fans...
Mibi i would then hate FIFA like the rest!...lol

"Free" is with reference to Game Stations advertising...
On its own, a PS3 is £190-190!? (ish)
But mine was £210!? (can't mind) for PS3...
and the "free" copy of FIFA12...

Remember!
There is no Spoon!
:)
