Pro Evo 2012 vs FIFA 12

Had FIFA over Christmas as it was bought for me, and I can safely say the game makes me physically ill whilst playing it. I have tried everything to get some kind of satisfaction out of it, I've tried the sliders, I've tried the difficulty levels. Win, lose or draw I still can't get any pleasure out of out and the glitch 'cheat' CPU goals are just retarded and make me want to smash something. The amount of off the ball penalties I'm conceding is just ridiculous. The amount of 45 minute goals me and the CPU are scoring is just ridiculous. Together with the 90 minute goals.

It's safe to say that if you play the game more than two games the game becomes one repetitive chore which I derive no satisfaction out of. It's just devoid of any personality. I won 4-0 against Wigan and I couldn't really care. The only thing which triggers pure rage is the cheap CPU goals. Two games in a row the CPU scored 90 minute equalisers when me CPU controlled defenders were dragged ludicrously out of position.

What makes the game SO disappointing is the veneer on top. The presentation, the initial 'OMG' at the ball physics and animations, and the satisfaction as your first goal crashes into the net. But passed all that, and after two hours of play, you see the say thing over and over. I really, really want to like FIFA. I have caned PES and thought I'd just like to have something different on offer. But whereas PES (modded) keeps me coming back, FIFA makes me sick after prolonged use. Seriously. I think it may just be the constant repetition of zonal marking and positioning, and patterns of moves by the CPU. Generally I can see goals coming a mile off when the CPU works a position to just 'do you' leaving your crappy defender powerless.

Anyways, FIFA is being sold lol, if anyone wants it for £20 PM me!

Fifa offline against the CPU is pretty dreadful. Have you tried playing against a human player either online or offline? From my experiences it is a lot more enjoyable, although I suppose at times it could depend on the style of play of your opponent.

Fifa has all the licences, pretty nice commentary (at least better than PES) and all that nice stuff but the gameplay is horrible at least in offline and it pretty much repeats itself over and over again.

Here is couple examples how horrible the offline mode is:

CPU opponents are psychic, they can read your mind and know your next move before you do... for example as soon as you press the pass button, CPU opponent will instantly turn around and intercept while your player continues running forward.

Many times your players will run away from air balls, when a ball from a goal kick is going to drop on to you players feet it will just back away like the ball was a bomb and then CPU opponent will come and get a free ball YAY!

Your teams CPU players will in many occasions stop defending the goal, they will just clear away from in front of your goal so there is nothing between the goal and CPU opponent except the goalie... its like they're saying "Sorry Sir, apparently we're standing in your way, now we will stand aside and give you a clear shot at the goal"

In penalty box your player will 80% of the time stand behind defenders, they will actually run behind the defenders to wait for you pass

I don't know how some people can play the offline mode and actually win most of time, i mean how can you win when your players are running behind defenders and running away from the ball and not defend your goal? seriously whats the catch?

Stick to your modded PC version of PES ..Fifa is a hell of game and not many can handle all the awesome animations, depth, spectacular commentary, flawless online connections, real player names, kits, 360 movements, Tactical Defending, realistic ball movement, loads of player skills, tricks, manual passing .....whew...

All this and more ....without a Jenky patch bro....:w00t

FIFA 12 is alright. The A.I. is still woeful. The transfers in MM (in the first season, no less) are nothing short of a joke. They have tried to make the game too realistic. It's gotten to the point where it isn't fun to play anymore. I play on Legendary, and whilst the game is difficult most of that is down to, let's be honest, A.I. that cheats. Despite this, I feel I'm making significant progress with sliders, which really help the game. Overall, the game has potential, but FIFA 11 plays better football IMO.

I might pick up PES 12 because I popped PES 10 in and it was a blast to play. Refreshing, even.

I love it when people like yourself plays a video game and then states that the 'Artificial Intelligence' of the game is cheating them.

Do you even understand what that means?

Basically you are saying that a computer game that gives you the control of lets say 10 players has learned a way to cheat you out of winning.

Is it possible that you maybe are not good enough to play at the legendary level?

Do you know that there are ways to prevent the computer from scoring by using a better defensive system?

Questions....

Do you think a computer game acts or reacts before or after your inputs?

If it is before ...can you act to out-smart its moves?

If it is after ..can you react to counter its moves?

Since all the moves on any video game is already predetermined..(written into codes stored on a single disk) ..shouldn't one realize that it is only the user (good or bad gameplay) that will determine the outcome results of the game.

If there is a fault with the game, these should be listed as bugs instead of cheats......

..but if there are bugs within the game (stored on the single disk) shouldn't it affect all users.

There is a reason they call it Artificial since it does not have a brain of its own.

Learn to play the game before making these stupid statements..

I used to play FIFA a lot and bought every edition since FIFA 07, but FIFA 11 was a bit of a letdown, primarily with its gameplay and boring game modes, and then decided not to buy FIFA 12 as many people I know were disappointed with it.

I'm back with PES for the first time since PES 5, and I'm really liking PES 2012. Licenses and graphical realism aside, PES is superior to FIFA and is a lot more enjoyable to play. Lot's more fun and can still be challenging without being ridiculously unrealistic.

You know peeps, I'm really starting to love the PS3 version again with this new patch. I've added the stadiums, kits and Chimps latest magic and at -1 gamespeed I'm really starting to feel the magic a little, at least I want to come back for more.

As touched upon, I gave FIFA a THIRD go over Xmas, and it's just not happening. I even gave it a week on it's own, and I simply cannot generate the angles and craft that I can with Pro Evo. Pro Evo has it's issues don't get me wrong. FIFA seems to be one-two-three step on step on step, it's like do X to get to Y then do Z to get further etc etc. Pro Evo going sideways and back and utilising runners and then using angles can open up entire moves. It's difficult to explain but I just cannot do what I envisage on FIFA, and the CPU glide glitch goals, the 45/90 minute gamebreaking goals, the amount of un-life the ball has (just doesn't feel like an object that can literally go anywhere) is why I have finally, finally put FIFA to bed.

The fact that a video game which is supposed to be based on stats, needs to cheat the stats in order to increase the difficulty level, pretty much sums up how outdated and flawed the video game is.

A slow player suddenly becoming faster than your fastest player..... not cheating? I think that's mostly what people mean when they say "AI Cheating", whenever the computer cheats the stats, that's cheating, becasue it is out of your control and because the video game is supposed to revolve around stats yet needs to cheat the stats in order to increase the difficulty level.

In any case, regardless of whether or not you consider it cheating, nobody can deny that a video game that needs to cheat the stats in order to be challenging, is a flawed and outdated video game. For example, I've never seen such a thing when playing Mortal Kombat, because in Mortal Kombat the computer does not need to cheat the stats in order to increase the level of difficulty, and that's what makes video games like Mortal Kombat timeless.

Therefore, the claims of "AI Cheating" are far from unrealistic. I think you are blaming the consumer for the faults of a product.

I know tons of people who play Fifa 12 and none of them talks about AI cheating. I do hear complains that the new tactical defending has a steep learning curve ...which makes it sort of impossible to defend against teams like Barca...but ...

No one talks about cheating. I have caught Messi with slower players....how? Because when he received the ball he was standing ...and i was already in full stride towards him. So guess what ...i caught up with him :w00t

This is how realistic and fun Fifa 12 is, no one can just gun off at 30mph. We all start off slowly and build up speed. Fifa is the best game on the market today, there is no use even comparing it to PES.
Be smart, try to learn how to play the game before crying like a bitch about a video game cheating you. How old are you?

I know I am probably not going to convince you that no video game cheats ...they have known bugs which is common to most games.

But if you feel like its cheating you....don't be the idiot, break the fucking thing apart.

Are you mad? |I played fifa last three years and handicap in online is so big, that know everyone who played ten more matches in online (UT, 1 on 1, competition), everyone is speaking about it on official forums. And beacuse fifa is good only in online, I decided to buy PES, which has that fuckin' ability in offline.
So what can I think...
