I sux that you can't move you players with a free kick or corner. They just stand in the way the they stand and that is it..
I happend to me numbers of times that I really got a nice kick on a freekick and before the ball had to land in the goal my own player gets infront of the shot and the ball hit him.. Man that sux...

BAD POINTS (in my humble opinion):
obviously slow down on 60khz
Why the hell isn't there a striped shirt design?
I wish they'd had included the option for correct team call names again
No over-head volleys(?)
Infact players seem to want to head the ball from impossible angles intsead of using a far more practical volley.
You can't register edited players to club teams anymore
Buying personally edited players is nigh on impossible due to the absurd amount of money they cost in the Masters league
Goalkeepers can sometimes pull off inhuman saves
Why the dumb ass "extra" hairdo's? Surely time would've been better spent on ACTUAL REAL TEAM CALL NAMES instead of the option to have a guy wear a SHARK on his head!? They're as pointless as the ball trail effect.

I still love it tho, lol.
Despite it's flaws it's still an awesome game.

i hate when you're trying too hard to tie the score and the computer makes a sub and you can't play your free kick until the player in and out names are gone, that's a killer ...

Goal keepers are shit out, I already had a 7-6 scoreline and we didn't even play extra time.If I get on and 1 with your Goalie he's a dead man. Other day when I played Gadge I scored a "round the world" past the muppet keeper,it was a good goal but this is a joke.

i hate the way that crap players dribble and turn with the ball so slow. bad teams in real life are bad cos their players have bad passing accuracy and can't finish. no player actually moves like a snail when they have the ball, they maybe just have bad control and knock it too far ahead or something

I'm a little bit dissapointed of the commentary in the game, I think they don't have enough emotion. If the Ref blew for a penalty, the commentators act like it's just a normal fault. Also if a player is running towards the goal (he's free) and he has a big chance for making a goal, there's no reaction of the commentators ...

So I do prefer the "John Motson" style of commentary ...

i have a problem: it's awfully easy.

The opposition needs to be more creative. They are incapable of picking up forward runners well enough to stop a decent through ball from slicing the defense open.

I think that varies with teams and games. I played against Galatasaray in ML 6*, and they are good at putting in early crosses over my defence and have fowards scoring first time.

And I find that it's more difficult to play against defensive teams than big teams, Its never difficult to play against Arsenal, manU, Real and teams like that, but I find it quite difficult against Liverpool.

And i think they need to change the way stats affecting outcome. E.g., with "name" strikers, u don't really have to work to get a goal, u just get into the area and press the strike button, which is too easy. There are few other thing that make the game a little bit too easy, like the usual complaints easy penalties, walk past goalkeepers on one on one situations...

the random bouncing ball after a challenge that still goes straight to the other team most of the time...they ever going to fix that?

also the computer knowing exactly what you are going to do with a tackle before you even do it, odd.

also the way the computer can dribble sometimes, slide stepping all over the place and pulling off things i've never seen a human person do, makes that hard to defend.

so far so good, but im finding a lot of the nit-picky gameplay things i didnt like about PES3 are still here in PES4.

AHHH yes, huge pet peve

why cant i view a replay after the ball has crossed the out bounds line/goal?

sometimes i like to practice free kicks and i sometimes dont catch them early enough and cant watch the replay...kinda sucks

Good stats bad performance

Van Basten have a shootaccurracy: 98, Shootpower: 86, shoottech: 99 with red arrows and he still could miss in some 1-1 situation, but when i used the default Martins from Inter seems like that he'll never miss a 1-1 although he have a shoooting accuracy of 79.

EXACTLY the complaint I was gonna post! :)

Also, the lack of over-head kicks* and volley's (I've had 1 (ONE(!)) overhead kick, and that was in practice mode!) are a real shame. They should have gotten a combination, like holding left trigger and X or something, so that the player will always ATTEMP to hit the ball with his fett instead of his head...

The special trail thingy on the ball is a nice idea, but the rainbow-effect is just goddamn ugly. They should have gone with a sleek, transparent white effect.

I'd like to have that new yellow ball with blue stripes in the game.

I'd like to be able to tackle the keeper. I might not do it often, but I DO want to have that ability. I know in the past I occasionally had to vent my frustration a a missed chance by taking out the poor bastard's knees :D

Ditto on the 'my own players get in the way of the free-kick' complaint. REALLY annoying.

If you make a normal tackle along the sidelines, the ball often goes out of play.

SOmetimes when I want the keeper to throw the ball. he doesnt react, and doesnt do it... (bastard).

The striped shirt thing should have been in there; incredibly stupid they left it out.

Penalty-kick system needs to be bettered. It's pretty basic and shite as it is right now...

I'd like to see some more diverse advertisement boards around the pitch,as it's pretty samey... get some REAL sponsors in there.

I'd love to see it would be possible again to shoot over cameraman behind the goal. I believe it was in the 2d original on the SNES!?

Coin-flip. It's kinda boring starting every 1 person game from left to right, and having the first kick-off. I want the coin-toss back in!

I want managers reacting to what happens on the pitch. they should be included in the cut-scenes etc after a big foul, an off-side decision, a goal, a missed chance etc etc.

A better shadow on the ball, as it's sometimes difficult to see where a ball in the air is going... especially in night-matches.

I would like to see an extreme-foul button. Like the player will do an extreme tackle, or throw an elbow or whatever.
A dive-buton would also be nice, with some players (so-called diving experts) diving and rolling with the grace of a ballerina and crying like women...

When playing with Diouf, I'd like to be able to spit at lil children in the stands. ;)

I'd like to be able to verbally abuse and throw shoes at my failing players, in the dressing room after the match.

Ok, I'm reaching now so I'll stop :)

Yea the pitch on the rugby stadium, cant remember the name of the stadium but its the rugby one, really does my eyes in. Ive made sure no teams have it set as their stadium now its the only one i dont use! A major problem is the fact that there are no striped shirts in the editing. Im sure this will be sorted for the next one. Also penalties are given waaaaaay too easily. You know the deal, when a defender runs towards an attacker, the attacker slightly stumbles but continues on his feet. Penalty. You what ref?!

like people have said players don't stick to their markers and its funny how the majority of the time the cpu defenders track back

a bit more team individuality , the cpu always goes str8 for the wings and swings a cross in from the best angle he can get, certain teams should have certain styles of play like arsenals counter attacking and soo on

too many glitches like doubled up players in ML

the replay thing when you can get more goals by replaying the shot just as it cross's the line

Like someone said previously in this thread;

It's way too easy to beat the 'big guns', for example i was happily playing my SerieA, and you know, i was kicking arse, i beat Juventus, Roma, AC Milan, and Parma (I was Inter) all quite comfortably, but when it came to playing teams like Reggina, Cagliari, Atalanta etc. there defenses seemed impregnable.

Me went mad.

ProEvo fails in some ways

I read some where in this post, that the keepers are acting much more realistic :( NO WAAAAY....

I have to fight to hold my food inside every time I see a shot sneaking right out side the post and a keeper who stands his ground like "I had that one covered". Not even a lifted eyebrow, not the slightest reaction. Thats not realistic at all, unless you mean that it´s realistic that all the keepers are MAX doped.

Another thing i get irritated by, is when your team is forming a wall.... WHO NEEDS A WALL 40M FROM GOAL???? pfff.

Another thing: Has anyone experienced that perfect cut through pass that gets wrecked by the receiving player who has to slow down so much that the defenders is able to catch up with you.

Besides all these hick-ups, it is bar far the best footie game out there. FIFA is no match. My friends keep telling me that FIFA´s the most realistic... yeah right, "If you are playing with rubberballs on a high gravity pitch"

Biggest thing that annoys me is the fact that classic players are edited in ML. It's not fair :(
I don't want a 17yo Tom Finney with 97 for balance, i want the proper one
This also means i can't have Van Basten :(

Another annoyance is the lack of hooped kit, being a fan of QPR this incredibly pisses me off.

The "stumbling" is also annoying. I have a weak striker, Giusseppe Rossi, as im training him up, the no of times he gets through on goal, and because he has crap balance he stumbles and it's a wasted opportunity.

Other than that though, this game is superb.l

Finally! Someone that agrees with me. :)

The only real problem i have with this is that they don't implement the last-man ruling.
Sometimes, when my striker has been played clean through on goal, the last man of the opposing team would come from the back and chop you down, and he wouldn't even get a card. But besides that, yeah, great game. I love the fact that they've added so many diffrent animations. There are probally 6 or 7 diffrent volley animations, while fifa has what, 1 or 2?
