Meh, I wasn't planning on getting a 360 but seeing as PS3 is 7 months off now I will just treat myself to a 360. Will get a PS3 of course when SONY eventually decide to release it.

Well all i can say is that i'm glad i have my 360 to play PES6 on. Mind you, with Seabass saying a PS3 PES6 would be out in spring 2007, could this mean that PES6 could possibly be a launch title for the PS3? :erm:

That could only work out if all PS3 consoles were region free. You'd have to mod it just to play the European PAL games.

And seeing as the region free feature is still a rumour at this point in time, it might be worth waiting for the PAL release.

Otherwise, I'd probably do the same as you - buy it from Japan where it's going to be cheaper (when converting the yen to the pound).

Europe is stuck with the slightly inferior PAL system so I don't blame them for not wanting to ship to Europe as it will take a lot of time to do all the re-coding shizim.

They have conceded that they have as much chance of beating the Wii in the opening months in Japan, as I do with my GamerTron 5000X that I made up this very minute. So they will have to concentrate on America (so that is why they are shipping more lasers to America) try and beat the Xbox, and then move on to Japan when the Wii hype has died down. Finally moving onto Europe where neither Wii or Xbox have particularly taken off. Well that is the idea anyway.

Everyone believed Sony would actually get the console out in November?

I said a while back that people shouldn't get their hearts set on a PS3 for Xmas, due to all the rumoured problems Sony were having with the console. Those rumours were obvioulsy true. But no-one listens.

And don't get your hopes up for a 360 price drop this year - why would Microsoft need to now?

Completely agree with you. Im a sony Playstation fan through and through (good for me I guess :erm:...). Due to it feeling weird after all those hours and days on the Playstation getting used to the controls and that and then play an 360...must be weird. Anyhow, ontopic, I really don't mind..... as it gives me more time to save up my money and hopefully I will be able to get an PS3 when it hits the stores .

Anyone watching the Champions League games tonight? Noticed the PS3 ad boards on the side of the pitch?

It can only mean one thing - that the PS3 is close to being released.

I doubt Sony would've given UEFA permission to use the Playstation 3 ad boards for this seasons Champions League if they couldn't guarantee it's release during the 06/07 season.

If Sony are now saying that the European release isn't until March 07 then I believe March 07 will be the release date.

Madness! The 360 is a strong gaming console. Like I said in a different topic, the key is in its prospective game titles for this year. It's current weakness is lack of decent games but that will soon change with PES and the new GTA being a 360 exclusive!:w00t
