Why is that the dark side exactly?? What has it done to show it is not a top end console with great games and ability?? Exactly so leave the Sony fan boy attitude out please. Sony have done nothing but let me down, but i don't hate them, the fact that they had to give me 5 PS2's cos there shitty product was rushed out and faulty, the fact that customer service didn't have much if any knowledge, the fact that their lasers appear to only have a deliberately short lifespan. Never once, not once, have i had a problem with Microsoft, they have always been very helpful and insightful with everything, so maybe certain people need reality checks. There is a reason why Microsoft are suing Sony for all the rumours about the PS3 being SOOOO much more powerful and there is a good reason why Microsoft are going to win, and it isnt just cos they have the richest man on the planet in charge

I've had my PS2 since a few months after they were released and I've not had a single problem with it. Runs as good as it does since the day I got it. I'm not a fan-boy (I bought a Wii didn't I?) but as far as Sony goes, from personal experience I've got nothing but praise for them.

They are about as knowledgeable as PCworld staff are about home computing.(that isn't very knowledgeable btw ) Oh and to somebody who posted previously... I was making a very realistic and valid point and no i don't support Man United or Chelsea, I support Celtic and Inter Milan. Considering that you feel it appropriate to call people tits when referencing posts which are in no way about you, I suggest that it's you that is in fact... the tit. Oh and as for that i'm on every bandwagon shite... I already said i work in the games industry so i have to, believe it or not, be impartial (SHOCK!!) Please only take the time to post in this forum if your IQ is above the acceptable level for you to blink and talk simultaneously.

No I havent, but the good part is I haven't had any cause to. Everything has run smoothly for me.
It is really good fun. It is more suited to when you have friends round (Wii Sports and Wii Play are examples of this) as you will have a really good time. It does though have some great single player games (Call of Duty 3 and Zelda to mention just 2) for when your on your own. I think for the price it is well worth it.

I can safely say NBA 2K7 is one of the best sports games i've ever played. If only 2K sports would make a 'soccer' game....

Lets face up to some home truths here guys, what ORIGINAL and INSPIRED ideas have Sony come up with in the last 5 years? Can't think of any eh, me neither. I mean if you wanna make a more powerful box and add a 2 then a 3 etc thats all well and good, but i was hoping for a much altered design, like Xbox being a coffee table and 360 being pretty slick. The fact that ALL new brands and media that Sony have tried to introduce have so far flopped is not very promising for the Japanese giants of electronics now is it? UMD=Disaster, Blu-Ray= Flop when compared to HD-DVD, Magic Gate Mem Sticks= Limited Usage. Sony are a faultering brand, who will still make money thanks to all the kids, that i have had personal experience hearing, saying.."Oh can't wait for PS3, it'll kick 360, it's shit."Have you played 360?" "No, but i just know Playstation is better" Thats there majority demographic, people who don't know any better, but for those of us that do, lets keep it real and not let Sony woo us with a name and shiny outer looks, its what's on the inside that counts, and if PS3, like the recent flops, has no substance, then 360 all the way.

If it lasts it will be the VHS but i doubt it. As i work in games development, i shall point out the fact that Blu Ray is a very difficult format to develop for, cos yes, there is more space, but i'm afraid the job isn't made any easier by that. I'm also appaled that you are defending Sony, why anybody except a Sony employee or fanboy would do this is beyond my understanding. Sony have done nothing but lie and spread rumours about their new console and other companies products. Kinda think thats why Microsoft has brought a lawsuit against them.

Actually, you'll find that the people who have Playstation 2 consoles ages range anywhere from about 5-6 years old all the way through to 30-35 years old.
Compare that to the average age range for people who have Xbox or Xbox 360 consoles which I've heard is between 18-24 years old and you can see why Sony have sold more PS2 consoles than Microsoft selling Xbox consoles.
Like olodude pointed out, games on the PS2 just seem to appeal more towards the masses.

i don't know why the fuck people are arguing about 360 vs PS3, because a) People who support Microsoft will always defend Microsoft and say the PS3 is shit and viceversa with sony. b) I don't think any of us (apart from maybe some of the Americans) on this site have actually played a PS3, and therefore can't compare the power of the PS3 to the 360, or for that matter compare anything from the PS3 to the 360. c) No-one can say blue-ray or HD-DVD is better than one or the other as they haven't had enough time on the market yet. We don't kow who will win the console war yet, because Sony and Nintendo have only just released their consoles; wait a year and then we'll talk. I personally am in the Microsoft camp, but that is not to say the PS3 won't be good. I have both a PS2 and a PSP, neither of which have let me down, EVER. Therefore i have no bad blood with Sony, but i just prefer the 360 and the games on it. And to the person that said Halo 3 is shit... that my friend is bullshit.

Halo 3 is overrated, Halo 2 was, its a mediocre first person shooter that does nothing special to excite the die hard FPS PC player like myself, it's just another FPS. Considering also that in Halo 2, the environments all pretty much were the same, slight changes from Covenant to Human bases etc, but, still too bland, need more variety, which is what 360 should offer for Halo 3. I just never found Halo 2 that great, thot it was average at best, as do all the people at the games testing lab, they never rate Halo 2, we all play GRAW or Gears of War or even... BF on PC. So, build up Halo 3 all ya want, it'll be nice, and shiny. Hopefully more originality in it than in the 2nd tho. My advice tho, fogert Halo, stick with Gears
