Another horrifying discovery (at 2am).
So I've got to the end of my 60+ Brazilian duplicates list. All sorted. Great. In the Master League, there's no Brazilian duplicates. This is what I was basing my list on.
But I've just looked at the free agents pool, researched a few names, and... There are still official versions of players in there, that haven't replaced the "unofficial" (renamed, more generic) players.
Like, almost every player.
So basically, I've wasted the last two nights, because two copies of most Brazilian players still exist, but somehow don't appear in the ML (until you assign them).
I can't even press "reset" for the Brazilian teams from the looks of it - the reset button seems to reset everything, everywhere, not just a single team.
I was hoping to get a fix out tonight, but I'm going to bed now, utterly dejected.
I think my options tomorrow are going to be...
A) Write down every single f$%?!ng player in every Brazilian team, then compare all the names against all the free agents, noting down where official versions now exist and swapping as necessary,
B) Export all of the Brazilian teams as they are after DP2 by default on a friend's PS4, import them over the current ones, and start them again from scratch, or
C) Leave everything as-is and export what I've done so far (which I don't want to do because it's not right).
I'm leaning towards option A at the minute... Which is frankly an obscene amount of effort just to be able to avoid duplicates.
Can you all please tweet @officialpes, Konami and any other accounts that might be useful and tell them what this update has done to option files (not just this one) because of the forced Live Update built into DP2? Because they aren't aware of what they've done, and they're supposed to support their community, not put them at risk of losing their jobs from lack of sleep from having to re-do a month's worth of editing because they love the game.
I don't know of another community that supports a product and renders it as competitive as it can be with its rival, for free, only to be repeatedly ignored and treated like our work and concerns don't matter.
