The file cannot be directly opened by current OF editors btw
It is done by hex editors (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hex_editor).
(You have to decode the file first before hex-editing)
I checked there is no 2 belfodil in the game. The updated Algeria squad did not have him. S. Al Alim has not been renamed to Belfodil. You can rename if you wish to. I also did not see 2 Casero.
I am hopeful that there a way to read player Id. It will help in tracking overwritten player. For example in this of, there is a real player with fake name from Huesca who is overwritten. Now I am not sure who is the overwrite player now and at where for me to reset.
For now i am doing a excel record based on this OF which is completed at 20% at best.

I'm pretty happy with the option file as-is, it's everything I need to be able to play a Master League properly now, which I've been waiting to do since release! (I can't see any fake players in the ML either, though I may be missing something.)
The only thing I can see being fixed in the future is... Fixing the problems DP2 introduces (specifically the 100+ new player faces, so 100+ players will need their faces reset).

I will release an add-on for the 2 classic teams. Same players but better faces. Created faces not base copy face. Actually I finish them but being too picky I am still making changes.

Hey Antonytse bro. Can you update this or make something like this?
So we can edit during ML...I used it often in the PC version of PES 16 to fix jacked up transfers....like Neymar going to Lazio or something...and it worked flawlessly
Doesn't let you cheat though which is a good thing...transfers are done during transfer window...and doesn't work for the User team...so you can't like put all the stars on your team, or cheat moneywise.
And allows you to fix or update transfers, during the course of ML...also could use it to update transfers for the upcoming winter transfer window.
Just a thought! Can't find the buhalo88 guy...
