question about patching/option files?

I feel a little confused about this patching thing. If I want to patch my PES4 I need a mod PS2. And to bring an option file I need X-Port or max drive?

As you might know I just got PES4, and I'm not really excited about editing those player names like I did in PES3 :p Also those patches look really damn nice :) They could make PES4 even better

To play a patched version of PES4 you need a modded PS2. This could mean getting the PS2 chipped or using a Slide Card/Swap Magic combo. Patching the game is completely different from the option file and should not be confused.

Patching changes some of the graphical content of the game, whereas an option file just changes things thar are changable through Edit Mode in the game.

You DO NOT need an X-Port or a Max Drive if you have a modded PS2 to get an option file onto your memory card. You can burn an option file in bin/cue format onto a CD-r and load it onto the memory card. The guide for this is available in the downloads section along with various option files in bin/cue format. Good luck!

Thanks for the information Mumpleaser! You confirmed my thoughts. It's pretty expensive to get your PS2 modded here, and the slide card/swap magic stuff are hard to get. But I have to consider about this, anyway I'm going to pay more attention to this whole editing scene. I really appreciante your help. :) At least I'm going to buy a x-port.
