Reason for a unfinished version for 360 my opinion

So we all know by now 360's version is not a full version, yes ok we all keep going on about it saying we all new months ago, yes very true but has konami told everyone why?
No they haven't!

We can't say they had to get it out quickly like alot of people keep sayin, well sorry but fifa has had the same time and they managed to bring out 3 lots of different soccer games
(the latest one is the full version of fifa 07) in the time konami did one n not a next gen one just a port with hd graphics on top and not even the stuff what pro evo is famous for, so we can't really let them go on that because they've had alot of time to get it ready.

The other issue people keep saying is they had to take it out so they can keep the slowdowns more down well excuse me but aren't we on next gen the issue of slowdown shouldn't even come into games no more thats comes into another question are we even next gen yet? but will save that for another day.

Again people keep saying well you know it didn't have it in and that if you dont like it dont get it but thats not the point the point is the reason we had so many fans on pro evo was because you did have the option of changing team names changing the badges who needed fifa when you had a soccer game which played way more realistic than fifa and you had a totally different game on top because you had to design the badges yourself and sort everything out thats how we got fifa fans over to pro evo because they realised even tho fifa had the liscenses, pro evo could easily become linescensed with a few hours of editing.

So over the past few months i've been reading everything about why n the opinions of why they haven't put the concrete stuff in what makes a pro evo game a pro evo game, and the one opinion what no one has even consider is the fact this is a konami game and konami are publishers to sony, errrmmmm yes how many years? ps1, ps2 for as long as i can remember pro evo was on ps2 way before xbox managed to get hold of it.

The one thing missing from the next gen is the ps3 and the next gen wars soon to start when it comes out, now the only reason konami didn't put a full version of it out on 360 is because they know and sony knows everyone will have a 360 pretty much way before a ps3 and for a game like this to come out months before the ps3 could ruin sony because pro evo is one of the big sellers for sony, so i'm to believe sony turned round and said to konami listen ps3 isn't out yet and pro evo was a sony exclusive once before lets make alot more money by releasing it a full version on ps2 and cut down version on 360 so then at least ps3 will have a chance when they realese the next one.

Ok it does seem a little bit far fetched but the truth is konami n sony have been partners for a long time and made so much money by it and microsoft wont mind because they know they'll make money back on the xbl from patches because we all know the patches for it will not be free. And konami are based in japen/china (im not sure) n 360 is usa which for china/japan makes a diference they no the strategy inside n out more money, trust me if you really think about whats happened n how it was done by not even mentioning anything really until realease date your'll soon realise that its pretty much straight forward what they've done.

as has been stated before KONAMI is a company , they make money not friends.

They made exclusive games for Nintendo for a long time , didnt stop them making the transition to sony , then to xbox one . All without a hitch.

If the ps3 had arrived when it was supposed to and konami had brought out pes6 for it then it would be exactly the same as the one on the 360

Also , when pes7 hits the shelfs the 360 & ps3 versions will be pretty much identical.

I think there might be some truth in that.

But there are some things from your post I don't agree with.

Let's get things into perspective here. The 360 will never outsell the PS3. I'm sorry but I just can't see it happening. It doesnt matter how many PES releases there are on the 360. The PS3 will always be the console of choice for the average gamer when next-gen gaming becomes a given.

Now you can complain all day about the PS3 going through far too many delays but the simple fact is, the Playstation 2 is still the market leader in the computer games market today, despite the release of the Xbox 360. Sony realise that the demand for the PS3 will be gargantuan when it comes out and that's why you're seeing a significantly higher RRP for the PS3 than the RRP for the Xbox 360.

This is the only reason why the 360 is already out. Microsoft are trying to get a headstart over Sony...before the eventual release of the PS3.

A few months back, Microsoft were broadcasting the fact that; "PES is exclusive to the 360!". And then later announced it was only for 12 months. :eek:hmy: This is where I think Sony pounced and coaxed Konami into giving them an opportunity to fight back i.e. get the chance to release a next-gen PES. So that they can level the playing field.

I'm sure I heard Seabass Takatsuka say that the PS3 was the console that Konami were focusing on when it comes to developing next-gen PES...because of the superiority of the Playstation controller. So it shouldn't surprise you when the first 360 PES release isn't what you expected.

So you think Konami are concentrating on the PS3 because of the controller? I think thats rubbish. The buttons on the 360 controller and the dual-shock are in the same place so this argument falls flat on its face. In the few days that PES6 has been out on the 360 i already feel totally at ease with the controller and dare i say it, it feels better than the dual-shock.

Its all politics between Sony and Konami. Theres no other reason why the game is so cut-down. Konami don't like the 360, Sony don't like it that PES has arrived on the 360 first (PES is a console seller). It suits both parties.

All i'll say is this. If you give up on the 360 and get an over-priced PS3 especially for PES7 then you are playing into Konami's hands. Thats what they want you to do.

Well it looks like you're in the minority.

I have friends who are lucky enough to own both an Xbox 360 and a PS2 and the general feeling I'm getting from them is that the PS2 controller is more comfortable on the hands.

But I'm sure that I read somewhere where Seabass was praising the Playstation controller stating that it fits perfectly into the PES/WE control system.

Now I've swapped for the superior PS2 version, I can definitely say that it felt like playing a completely different game using the 360 controller. My fingers were drawn to the trigger buttons, because that's what my hand knows to do with 360. It just felt wrong to play Pro Evo on a different controller - I've played it with the same controller design since ISS Pro in 97, just felt so different.

Sorry, I have trouble holding my tongue when this one comes up now, it's clutching at straws.

I play tennis, I use a racquet with a size "L4" handle which is quite a large girth (yes I know "girth", yawn, snigger-snigger), the handle sizes start from "L1" for small kids and go up in number and girth (snigger-snigger) from there, the "L4" suits me due to my fingers being quite long.

If someone turned round to me or any tennis player and said "you're racquet size is rubbish, L1 is the best racquet size" they would be laughed at for saying something so ridiculous and sweeping. Unfortunately with the Ps2 vs 360 controller debate, because Seabass is crazily coming out with a similar child-like nonsense statement about the Ps2 contoller being better than the 360 one, people don't actually get laughed at here when they should do. All I can say is lets see the size of his hands.

I too though - like Ko_nami - prefer the PS2 controller BUT ONLY because it can rock back in the heels of my hands to allow all my 'button-mashing' fingers to all sit on buttons (and not sit holding the controller). The only problem with it for me is that after 2-3 hours play my long fingers get sore and cramped due to the small size of the controller. So I consider this a big problem, BUT ONLY FOR ME due to my size of hands.

The 360 controller doesn't make my fingers sore as it is bigger but due to the lack of weight in the heels of it it won't rock back in my hands so have to use some of my 'button-mashing' fingers to hold the controller (instead of all on buttons).

I have friends who - like jamez - prefer the 360 controller and I would too if it had more weight in the heels as it's BETTER FOR ME due to MY FINGER size! Heck, I even prefered the original XBox controller which everyone else in the world hated due to it's size, it's all about preference.

I've mentioned preference but I haven't even mentioned hand size in regards to whether a person uses the analogue stick or the directional pad but I better stop there as I'm spoiling the atmosphere of the simplistic sweeping statement "our controller is better than your controller" and so to bring the complexity down, my response to Seabass - who added fuel to the fire of this farcical statement - is "yeah, well my dad could beat your dad up".

Sorry, rant over.

When i first bought my 360 i thought the button placement on the controller was pretty similar to the PS2 one, apart from the left analogue stick. So i figured when PES6 finally arrived, i wouldn't have a problem getting used to playing Pro on a completely foreign controller to me. But i've got to say, i certainly did feel the difference when i played Pro on an Xbox for the first time, in fact i found it quite hard to adapt to begin with.

But now i'm used to it and it's starting to feel more comfortable and your i'll have to agree with you magoo, your hands don't ache as much as they do with the PS2 controller. Yet i still prefer the Sony pad to Microsofts as i've been using it for PES and ISS for God knows how many years now.

You don't need to read the manual to know how to play PES6 on the 360. The buttons are in exactly the same place as the PS2 version. Its a natural switch-over.

I agree with Magoo 100%. Its a matter of which pad you feel more comfortable with in your hands. The size difference between the Dual-shock and the 360 pad is the only deciding factor really. The larger 360 controller feels so comfortable, even after hours play whereas the Dual-shock didn't. I know i'm not alone in this opinion.

I'm just trying to prove that Seabass is a Sony fanboy as many have suspected.

Even the Expert Guide gives no reason for leaving the features that the other platforms do have - it simply states something along the lines of 'what are you moaning about, look at the beautiful graphics'

I'm just trying to prove that Seabass is a Sony fanboy as many have suspected.

The signs are obvious, he should just admit he is and get it over with.

You might be onto something there.

The Japanese have never liked the Americans.

In regards to the controller debate, having read some of your posts, I can understand why some of you prefer the Xbox controller.

But in my earlier post, I simply made a statement based on popular public opinion that the average gamer prefers the Playstation controller over the Xbox controller. Note the word; 'average'.
