Regular, Amateur or Professional?

Hi guys,

I've only been playing PES a week and I'm struggling...

On Regular I struggle to win 1-0, usually draw or end up getting beaten. I'm playing on -1 speed on PS3.

Should I ramp the difficulty up and practice or back it down to Amateur?
Should I just play training matches and concentrate on new moves?
Should I play exhibition matches and just get better one move at a time?

Or would online practice be the way to go?

O and PS online - what "level" does the AI play on for off-the-ball players?

Practice, practice, practice.

If you feel the need to, start at a lower difficulty setting and when it's suddenly way too easy, move up.

Starting at Top Player and learning by losing is one way of developing. But it's not as fun in my eyes.

Thanks Ravex...yea I could imagine getting hammered every game would not be a good experience. I think I'll revert to amateur and when I'm as you say finding it "way too easy" then I'll move up a level and so on.

Indeed. Human mind is harder to predict than the game AI lol.

no I haven't yet but not by design - I really want to. I can play Madden online with no problem but everytime I try to connect with PES it just circulates and stalls until I have to hard re-boot my console. Really getting frustrating. I started to have this problem in the later days of 2011; I haven't changed any settings so don't know why PES is troubling and nothing else.

I also have problems with P2P Konami downloads but the direct internet download is a snap. Puzzling.

play on regularbut stick to strategy you are most comfortable with - if you want to pass the ball in midfield and wait to create space, choose possession game but with f.e. higher support. if you do counters, do that. If you suck at defending do all-out defence. If you struggle to score goals do all out attack but with lower defense line.
I choose all out defence but use 2 strikers and an amf so it is balanced so i have a strong defende and an above average attack.

Also try the challenge mode if you want to practise offense and defence to practise or try controlling a second player on assisted as they lose their marker aswell as making chances easily

you are probably right then. Don't want to hijack this post but in 2011 I connected in about 5-10 seconds. Almost seamless. Then I had 5 minute waits towards the end.

Perhaps I need to wait longer 2012 - that is good advice, even if a ridiculous Konami waiting time, I'll try tonight.
