Scoring from corners

Ok im really struggling to score from corners...

Last year i found them easy now i cant figure them out at all.
Any tips?

The opposition however score from nearly every corner since they know its the one thing they can control the outcome of (e.g making their own runs) on world class.

it's gotten more realistic. I struggled with that too, at first. But now most the goals I score are headers. When you send the ball in you have to control your player as if he is making a run and attack the ball. ( you can't just wait for the ball to get to you) I guess it just takes time getting used to.

thats not true u cant make them run at all they just stand in the pack even if u manually try to move them they dont go anywere more than a step or two.

I think they've fixed the corners from pes 2009 to 2010. In 09 the com always scored from corners. Now its easier to defend them. It's more random wheather the defending or attacking team heads the ball.
However if you want a tip username0 - I press ^ O R2 (sometimes not R2)
I always press ^ to get power - don't like the slowballs otherwise. And as mentioned, of course control your player with the R2.

i dont often score from corners this year but i did score a good 1 the other day i thought somone needs to head this so i looked for berbatov he was near the back post put a lot of power in the corner he jumped high fot the header in the top corner and i win 1-0 in the 85th miniute.

maybe that helped because i had carrick wjo took the corner and with his pin point acuracy passing skill card on it might of helped

I haven't played the latest game. But in 2009 and previous versions. I aim for a group of players or maybe one player that looks to have found space.
Use about over a half power gauge or 3/4 and add a bit of swerve and dip.

This I find usually brings good results. If you don't score you often get another corner or the ball falls to a player just outside the box.

its definitely harder to score from corners compared to 2009. In the past, i would juz hold the cross till the halfway point and launch it into the box, more often then not my player would win the ball.
This time, u gotta control the gauge quite evenly, also u really have to aim for ur best headers if u wanna stand a chance. Like requiem said, slightly over half or 3/4 + abit of swerve and dip will be the best chance so far.

I feel that your players automatically runs for the X (where the ball hits the ground) and AI players intercept infront of it, cutting off most of my long ball / cross attempts.
It's probably the only reason I find it challenging to score many goals in a game.

On the other hand I've mastered dribling in 2010 and it's way too easy to make "Maradona vs. England '86" goals, even on Top Player.
In World Cup mode last night, at Top Player, I scored 6 of those goals with Agüero, and 1 with Messi during the cup, 3 of them in the finals against Italy.

The combination increased errors on simple passes, increased AI interception and the way your strikers are almost unable to keep the pace up when clear on goal by a high through ball, I mean stopping up when the ball bounce letting defenders catch up in most situations, the result is that even though dribbling also has gotten harder it's still the best way because there is little AI cheating can do until you shoot.
Dribbling past the keeper aswell and putting in on blank goal eliminates most shot failures aswell.

Dribbling 7-8 players in quick succession on a regular basis get's boring after a while, I think it's a FIFA syndrome and a flaw in the AI.

from pes2008 i find it harder to score from corners. i used to do short corners and shoot at the right angle to get it in the corner of the net.
in pes2010 it seems to have gotten harder to do that as when you do the short corner it doesnt pass to the same place, however to another place where the angle is a lot more difficult to get in the net. although with certain players i have still managed to get it in the net

Jeez mate, explain please :)

only sprint when you try to get away from chasing opponents, approach defenders at control speed (special controls), do a feint (I use mostly gambeta / body feints (press up then down quickly for example) , and occational step over), release special controls just before, during or right after the feint, don't use sprint until you have put space between the defender and the ball so they can't snatch it away from you, then sprint like a madman, rinse and repeat as many times as you need. I always go full stop if 2 defenders pressure me, then wait for one of them or both to engage and double tap backwards then forward to make a tunnel (alternatively <- + <- + / or \) to get past.

Obviously this is easiest with a high agility player (80+ the higher, the better), 70+ dribbling and 75+ dribbling speed is nice but not a necessity.
If your player is too slow it's not doable to go all the way from your own half like this, but it still works to create room for a shot or a pass.

It's also important to press special controls button just before you recieve a pass and hold the direction you intend to move after you've trapped the ball. This is to avoid losing the ball to a defender before you can start to dribble.

About corners, I press the short pass button to full power then pass back to the corner taker and trap the ball (special controls) then lay off the ball (switch player + sprint button without touching any movement) and send a 50% power shot towards center of goal while i try to change direction with any of my players.
I hit a defender quite often that changes the direction and it might hit the net because of it.

I'm mostly playing World Cups with Argentina and lack tall strikers since I kicked Palermo off the squad, so i basically avoid high balls unless my strikers are unmarked.

^ Jesus H christ. This may be the most detailed explanation i've ever read in here. Thanks mate. Tunnel? Du you make these by the nutmeg feint?

i think once u play the game for a while u learn how to dribble past players like konami usualy say u cant run down the wing anymore like easily but i think u still can with certain players like nani and park

2010 it's f-ing nearly impossible to score from corners..since the player taking them is not crossing it where u stand and call for it.

I called for the front post corner cross and the ai still crosses it in the box

2008 and 2009 corners were simple..i scored 35% of my goals from corners..now either the ai cuts in front or my teammates who can't aim even if theIr life depended on it, balloons them

I watched the video by Seabass. I liked what he said about how they have constructed PES. I think I am more inclined to give it a chance.
